Me and my adult kiddos/foodies were looking for a place to have a huge birthday meal. I didn't want to drive all the way to Albuquerque today, we just got back from a few days at the butte, so we yelped for a place in Belen. I've been to La dos gringas once before about 5 years ago when it first opened. I wasn't impressed then because I think they were still trying to get things together idk but anyways I seen that they have an 11 ounce burger! That's huge especially when I can upsize to a double! The waitress was really nice and she told us what was good on the menu. She said "everything", and so we first ordered their holy guacamole! I love good guacamole and this was really good. I did add just a little salt though. Complimentary chips and salsa are always welcome and their salsa is really good too. Has just enough bite but not over the top hot. My son's atuffed sopapilla came out and it was huge and served with an additional two sopapillas on the side! My daughter had green chile cheese fries and the portion was small and they cost $10, the green chile is good with a little heat. Next our double hub city burgers came out and they were big but I don't think they were 22 ounces big. Small portion of fries too for a $20 burger, after the extra beef patty was added. The red chile was good but not hot. We also ordered two of the fluffiest sopapillas I've ever had. Soaked them in honey, they were great. $83 for 3 people. But that's with extra beef Pattie's on two plates and the holy guacamole appetizer which is $10. Overall I think the food was delicious but a little expensive for what you get. I'd come back to eat here no problem.

Came here after flying into Belen Regional airport...The food is good; everything is extra spicy. There's a lot to choose from!

I have been going to La Dos Gringas since it has opened. At first it was very hit and miss as far as service and consistency but we kept going because the hours are some of the latest in town and our schedules appreciate that. Over this last year their food has gotten steady and consistently great. The majority of the staff is friendly and on top of it. I think the prices are in sync with what you get. One of the reviewers mentioned something about bacon on everything, I seriously have to believe they were reviewing the wrong place. This place is straight up New Mexican cuisine. The green chilé is roasted and deep flavored. The red chilé is some of the best I have had in the state. I love that they have a low- carb keto friendly option. I am having a hard time believing these negative reviews are real. There may be an occasional glitch but for the most part this restaurant delivers. Bonus points for having a keto friendly plate. Give it a try.

Used to be good. Too expensive! $50.00 for two people with iced tea and no desert. Will not go back.

Over priced for Belen and the food isn't anything special.I wish Belen would get better restaurants.

We took my family here for lunch and I was not disappointed, not in the least! The food was just as amazing as I remembered. I had to get an extra order of those soft, fluffy sopapillas to take with me, since it's impossible to find a restaurant in California that serves them. The waitstaff was attentive and we received everything quickly. If you're in the mood for some incredible and authentic New Mexican cuisine, you MUST try Pete's-you won't regret it!!

I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas with a fried egg on top, garnished with tomatoes, onions, lettuce and sour cream. I'm from California, and don't get to have sopapillas at home-unless I make them-so I of course had to order half a dozen to go. They were nice enough to give me a portion cup of honey to go with them. They have wonderful red chile sauce on their enchiladas. So good in fact, that my mouth is watering as I write this review. My aunt had the chile rellenos ala carte, and she commented on how good it was and how they stuffed it with quite a bit of melty and gooey cheese. I definitely want to eat here again before I head back to California! I miss all of the good food here in New Mexico that I devoured as a child. Montano's really hit the spot!
