    Really nice patio

Had lunch here today & had the shrimp tacos & they were delicious! Served on flour tortillas with tomatoe & lettuce/ cabbage mix with Chipotle sauce.....with rice & beans. I asked for sauce on side. Very well seasoned & not spicy & they were generous with the shrimp. I'll get these again.

Yum yum yum! Ask for Christmas on the side! The red is hot and the green is amazing but has a kick! We loved the queso! The enchiladas are traditional and delicious! The beans are whole when served and the rice is more Spanish than Mexican but still tasty!

Great food, great service and affordable. We don't get down to Pete's in Belen very often. We are always very satisfied with the food, atmosphere and service. This is a great local restaurant decorated in typical Southwest theme. I came in ready to do a great review with great pictures but when the food came we ate. I realized much too late to take a picture. Sorry I was hungry and it was very good. We started with their chips and salsa. I was able to get a quick picture before we all gobbled it up. I love their salsa! It has great flavor and a mild bite. You can taste the cilantro and onion. My hubby and I both had the shrimp tacos. They are my favorite with the chipotle sauce. Great flavor and not too spicy. My son had the beef torta with calabacitas. It was as great with some salsa. The red chili today was really hot. I love their calabacitas! They are my favorite. And of course we gobbled up the sopas with honey. I got a picture of the last one before my son grabbed it.

First time ever dining here. My coworker who is a local in Belen told me about this place. I was curious about it so I decided to give them a try. I was told walking in there would be a 15 minute wait so I was fine with that and waited. Soon as a table became available they lead me into the dining room. It was about 10 minutes before I even saw my waitress. There was another woman going around filling drinks even brought me mine, and some chips and salsa. She was more attentive to me than my waitress. By the time the waitress came around I was ready to order. After that I didn't see her for over 30 minutes until she brought my food out. I was almost ready to walk out. I had ordered the Cheese Enchilada plate w/ green chili that came with some rice and beans. The chili wasn't too hot which I appreciated. It was delicious! The rice had cheese on top which was awesome. Same with the beans. By the time I finished I was ready for my check which was promptly brought out but then it was about 10 minutes waiting on my waitress to return before I ended up seeing another customer get up and coke up to the counter at the front to pay their check. I ended doing the same. Other than the slow service, the food was pretty good at a fair price. I would consider returning.

Good food. Great service. The reviews were underrated. I love the setting in an old house with all the associated quirks.

Dry tamales and warm salads. Tamales should not be served dried out and salads should be served on a cold plate.

I decided to try something that was a weekend special. Carne adovada Cheesy grits with 2 eggs, fried onions, avocado & cilantro. This was pretty good. Grits with not as thick as I would have liked them to be. My eggs were over easy and I asked for over medium, and no cilantro. I also had the iced mocha latte coffee that I had to ask for after my food came. Service was not great. The waitress told me right away that she was running behind, not something you want to know, then came back when I was done to ask me how my food was. I prefer to be asked with in 2-3 min after my food arrives. I was a waitress and this seems to not be a rule much anymore. When I asked for a to go container she gave me something that the grits would have spilled right through as I stated they were pretty thin. As this place is one of my favorites in town, I'll be back but, I hope the service is better.

We sat down and we had the friendliest waitress ever. Really good service, checked on us constantly. The queso came out and it's really just nacho cheese from the can, I know because I have some at home lol. My hamburger was a little small even after adding a second patty for a total of $18. It was good but not $18 good. And they forgot my bacon. It wasn't til I was driving home looking at some pictures when I realized I paid for a bacon burger! Aye ya yi. My kids CFS came out and it looked great until I looked closer and realized it was mashed potato flakes from a box, I'm 100 sure of it and the gravy was turkey gravy. They also forgot her toast. I think they buy all this generic stuff and try to sell it as restaurant grade food but it's not fooling me. I can tell the difference easily. $40 for the burger, CFS and chips con queso haha. I do NOT recommend this place. Sorry I wanted to like it but nope...btw I would've only left one star if it wasn't for the great service by the young lady who told us she's only been there 3 days. She did a great job

The food I was served was undercooked/raw, tasted terrible, and honestly should never have been sent out to a customer. Management definitely needs to test the employees on their food servers' certificates because there is no way this lady passed hers.!! Beyond the poor quality of the food itself, I was very concerned by the lack of proper sanitation practices I witnessed from the employee preparing and handling food. The employee was not wearing gloves, had no hair restraint or hair net, and overall appeared to have little regard for basic food safety standards. As a customer, it was uncomfortable and unsanitary to watch, especially considering the condition the food had already arrived in. What made the situation even worse was the behavior of the employee when I tried to address the issue. Since she was not wearing a name tag, I politely asked for her name. Instead of responding professionally, she became rude, aggressive, and got directly in my face in an intimidating and confrontational manner. No customer should be treated that way for simply asking for an employee's name after receiving poor service and unsafe food. This entire experience reflected extremely poorly on your establishment. There appears to be a serious lack of professionalism, customer service, sanitation enforcement, and quality control. You need to get your business in order, so disgracing went from a good place, amazing food, to shitty workers and the worst food ever.
