All I wanted was cheese enchiladas, I drove around town went to a couple places. It was 1:45 they all closed at 2:00. Needless to say I was turned away. I remembered Alejandro's. I drove through the drive-through it said drive thru closed at 2:00, Please come in. When I went to the front door I saw that the sign said closed at 2:00. I seem again to be out of luck again until a gentleman said that he would take my order, a couple came in behind me, and he even sat them down, even though they closed at 2:00. I haven't been to Alejandro's in quite a while, since they opened their new location I was extremely impressed by the open space's and the decor. The server was new so my daughter and I were very patient and understanding, she was very pleasant which is rare. The food was very good, still made fresh especially the chips and salsa, I couldn't get enough of yummy!! I definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a great place to eat in Belen on a Sunday. read more

Went in to try the food here, unfortunately they only take cash. Their sign said "cash only." When I asked the server when their credit machines will be up and running, he said he didn't know and that it's cash only until their machines are fixed. I would love to try the food here, I've read such great reviews! But I don't carry cash, so I couldn't try it. If I ever get the opportunity again, and I have the necessary payment method on hand, I'll update my review with a full breakdown of the food and location, as usual. Note for management: the location should post cash only signs on the exterior of the building so drive through and walk-in customers know ahead of time. read more

New mexico philly, I ordered this sandwich and this is what I got home with. What's with the lettuce, tomato onion garnish. The bread was absolutely glutenous and the cheese is congealed. The undercooked small portion of fried potatoes is inedible. The "philly" meat is obviously store bought. This third and final chance that was given to this resaurant. I was excited for the new launch however, It has turned out to be a huge disappointment. At least all the roosters are gone. read more

It was just a great place and a great breakfast. Couldn't resist ordering a special from the specials board -- Huevos Rancheros with Carne Adovada with red sauce. The eggs, ordered over easy, were perfectly over easy. The beans were tasty with just the right amount of chew. The Carne Adovada was pulled rather than in chunks. The texture was tender and succulent. The sauce was right on with its flavor. It was not hot, but it had a nice chile-ness. The hash browns, not something I am used to with this dish, were cooked to a nice crisp with interior tenderness. Wish the corn tortilla under it all had been better, but that was minor. The side of flour tortillas was spectacular. They were freshly homemade and had a nice amount of charring from their grilling. Great taste and texture. The interior was clean and well maintained, the kitchen looked spotless, and the server was efficient, kind and considerate. There was nothing to deduct a star for and I can't imagine what they could do to earn any more than the 5 stars they are getting. read more

My daughter came in from out of town and my sister told me about Alejandro's so we went there for lunch. OMG! It was amazing! We had the Carne Adovada Enchilada plate. The carne adovada was amazing and moist. Some restaurants serve it really dry. It was perfect! The red chile is very tasty with a little heat! I loved the rice. You go to other restaurants in Belen and its watery or over cooked. This rice was fluffly and the perfect sauce. And finally, you get amazing huge sopapillas with your meal! Being in Belen and trying to find a quality meal is not easy. Until now. With a menu designed for a quick breakfast or lunch. I've eaten here twice, once carne adovado and today chicken enchiladas. Both times the meal has been perfect. You can taste the authenticity in the food with subtle undertones of a bit of pork in the beans. Heat is right on in the chile very well done. The price, how about chicken enchiladas with rice, beans, chips and salsa and sopapillas with an ice tea for less than 8.50. The perfect lunch. read more

Alejandro is the nicest hardworking short order cook I know. Our family has been visiting Alejandro's for the last few years. His family restaurant is welcoming and friendly. The service is very good with friendly smiles and often a personal hand shake from Alejandro reminding customers of his gratitude. His food is delicious and his burritos are to die for. It is honestly the best burrito I ever had. And he always makes it custom to my liking. The salsa is incredible. I thank my friends Tody and Gloria for introducing us to this wonderful restaurant.
