Another lovely Italian dinner for me very much worth the drive!…read more I found Gioia to meet up with a very good friend who lives in the area and is also a connoisseur of Italian dining. She pointed out that their pizzas had one various culinary awards so, and from our experience yesterday, I can vouch that this is very true; it's a great spot for a casually classy date night. Our server - and even who I believe was the manager - came by the table to check on us. We started with a robust glass of their cabernet sauvignon and enjoyed fresh warm bread, then continued with their meatball appetizer. The three meatballs were juicy, tender and served with a robust marinara sauce & creamy mozzarella slices. Then came our yummy main course: With a airy and lightly crispy crust, their "Passeri" pizza was perfect for two. With sharp parmigiana reggiano, arugula, bacon, mozzarella, fig jelly and balsamic glaze our pie was a tasty combination of flavors. Their chocolate panna cotta garnished with whipped cream and a strawberry was a perfect sweet ending, along with their live music / karaoke.

The outside area has a one man band which you can enjoy. Great for a little date night or family dine out. You can go dressed casual or trendy style. Parking available.

Overalll a great experience!…read more The place was pretty empty for a Sunday nite -- but the service was spot on! I ordered a spicy maragarita from the bar and it HIT! You can tell it was made with love! To eat I got the shrimp tacos which were pretty good, if i were to give them a grade they would get a B+ for sure! The restaurant also has an interesting concept in that they serve NY style pizza as well -- food for thought, I'm from NYC and didn't want to be disappointed só I stuck to the tacos! Overall a good experience and worth a stop if you're in town! Oh and the restauntant decor is super cute -- just don't sit @ the bar if you're shorter than 5'6" as the chairs will swallow you up!

Well after walking into this place for my very first time on Christmas evening, I only saw about 3…read moretables. It seemed very slow. They had upbeat Hispanic music, most of it was good oldies. I ordered their lobster flavored pasta with shrimp and it was spectacular!!!! Their sauce for their tortilla chips was very good too. The pasta was luxurious and very milky and creamy. Their bread rolls were dry and nasty. The restaurant is a perfect size. But after I saw that the pasta costed $15 ...on the menu, I was told that this price was only for the lunchtime menu. Their dinner prices run very high, so I'm understanding why their waitress told me that it's been very slow here lately. I paid an almost whopping $30 for the pasta which wasn't even a large portion either. Their fajitas were $23 on the menu, so ik I couldn't have been looking at their lunch menu. Now I REALLY wanna ...talk to the manager. NOWHERE ON THAT MENU DID IT SPECIFY LUNCH/DINNER. Makes me wonder if this place will even MAKE it or eventually shut down with these very upsetting prices.

He passed away one month ago, at 93 years old, and because it was one of his favorite restaurants, we choose to have his Celebration of Life here this past weekend. Juan and Sonya were delightful to work with in the planning of the day. They were flexible and thoughtful and answered all my questions and honored my requests. Our group of 25 people had the whole back room reserved for us. We were able to honor my Dad with music, sharings, and a photo video that we played on their TV. The food was yummy, the service on point, and the kindness and consideration of Juan and his staff was exemplary! I highly recommend El Tamarindo for your small or larger group. You will be treated like Family! Thank you Juan!

We ordered the garlic rolls, a mixed salad, and a large pizza with mushrooms and onions. The garlic rolls were unlike anything I've ever had--packed with flavor and the perfect amount of garlic. The salad was incredibly fresh, and the dressing (served ice cold on the side) was amazing--almost like a blend of Italian and honey mustard. The pizza was outstanding--thin, perfectly chewy crust, delicious sauce, and fresh toppings. Every bite was spot on. The coconut flan topped off the meal! The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Juan, the owner, even stopped by our table multiple times to check on us, which really elevated the experience. Hands down, the best pizza I've ever had. If you're in Hollywood, this place is a must-visit!
