If I can give zero stars i would. We were really disappointed with our experience here. My niece was eating her bean and cheese burrito when she found a roach inside it. It completely ruined her meal. We immediately brought it to the waitresses attention, and while the waitress apologized, finding something like that is discussing and raises serious concerns about cleanliness and food safety. I understand that this can happen anywhere but this is not something anyone should ever experience at a restaurant. Definitely a hot spot for Mexican food and worth a visit! I've been here a few times but this last time was the first time I ordered the taquitos. They came out fresh and crispy. They're served with rice and beans and it completed the meal. The restaurant does get pretty packed, so be prepared for a bit of a wait, but the food is well worth it. read more

I love Tacos TJs. I'll start with that. I considered giving 4 stars, to be honest, but lately... they haven't let me down. In the past, it was pretty inconsistent. The last 5-10 visits (I've been here plentttty of times) they've done me proud so I think they deserve the 5 now. Surpringly, I have yet to try their breakfast or their seafood... shameful, I know. But every time I go, I just alwaysss want their tacos! Sometimes I'll throw in a cheese enchilada, a la carte...but it's always Asada tacos or Chorizo for me (everything on it aka onions and cilantro). I like to put both red and green salsa on my tacos, as well as the avocado salsa, and a nice squeeze of the lime. If my sister is with me, she usually orders extra blocks of queso, so sometimes I'll throw that on the tacos as well. Depending how hungry-- I'll go with 3 or 4, or if I decide to get beans and rice that's a deciding factor as well. I love their beans and rice. They also give you chips and salsa while you wait. Good, mild salsa... sometimes it has a kick. Always appreciate good chips and salsa, especially if they're free. If not water, a nice crisp coke always hits the spot. I don't get it often but when I do... man, their Micheladas are literally the best. We've gotten them with both Corona and Modelo before... both delish. I think it's the lime+clamato ratio they use that's just perfection! Plus, the extra garnishes... the shrimp, cucumber, and celery... yum! If you've never tried, you should. It's huge though so be prepared! I'm not a beer person whatsoever... but I will go for a good Miche any day. The staff is nice, and pretty quick. The vibes are cool. Love when people play music on the jukebox that they have available in there. Sometimes they even have folks in there playing live music. Only thing I would say I don't care much for is how loud it is sometimes (is that the age talking?) and also when they allow the solicitors to come around our table asking if we'd like to buy whatever it is they're selling. It's a first come first serve type of deal. I've never actually ever tried making reservations so can't help ya on that info if they do that or not... sometimes there are bums outside but they've never bothered me. This is my main go to spot to get tacos, been coming here for years. The service is usually good. The waiters mostly don't come back after they serve you though. It is rare when you get a server that comes back to check on you regularly at this place. Food was good. I always get the lengua and chorrizo tacos. I can say the quality of the chips for the salsa is going down. They used to be warm and freshly made now every time I go they are quite stale and cold. Make sure you come early for dinner since the parking lot fills up quickly. I had the chicken enchilada plate while wife and daughter had tacos. The enchiladas were pretty good, the flavor of the sauce held up against the meat. The rice was a little bland, but the refried beans helped out. My wife enjoyed her tacos and thought the same about the sides. Our daughter fell asleep before the food came, but after eating her taco the next day she was asking for more the following days! I ate half of it and took left Over for lunch. My little one got the asada tacos and she loved them. Even though they only had the meat and tortilla. My other friend ordered tacos too. A couple of friends and I were on a mission to find an amazing taco/ papusa stand on Belmont and oh, we did, but they didn't take debit card lol. So we ended up here. First off, this place is always packed. Especially right now with grad season -I noticed more than a few grads with swarms of family eating here (btw, congrats to all the grads!). Service was just fine and my burrito was a fair price of $6.50 However, it wasn't anything spectacular. The burrito is comprised of a hefty dose of protein , rice and beans. On the plate there were diced tomatoes, avocado cream and sour cream giving the option to divvy it up. The asada was not fatty BUT it was too greasy. Too much grease does not fare well with me digestively, so I ate just a 1/4 of it and threw in the towel. My friend ordered three tacos de cabeza and she said it was flavorful and tasty. My other friend ordered an asada quesadilla and he stated the same: Too greasy. I enjoyed the hot, crunchy chips and the fact that the food came out quickly. Perhaps there are better things on the menu! Therefore, I'm not entirely opposed to coming back. I will most definitely check out the one closer to me on Blackstone once it opens up. read more

This place was very clean and the servers were nice; However, it seemed as if they were just cleaning up after their morning rush, and preparing for lunch. Ok so tried this little spot right off the freeway on Cedar. Not a great neighborhood but there was a bunch of cars there and I liked the neo Lights so I stopped and glad I did too.
