Placed an online order about half an hour ago through TOAST , I was feeling under the weather and you can't go wrong with Rosalinda's Fresh Tortilla soup my absolute favorite . I'm in utter shock how I was treated , I called because I forgot to write in the caption for green hot sauce . So I call and let the food server know if that can be added to my order , just a 2oz side of green hot sauce , she said sure I'll add it to your order she didn't say a word after that but hung up no good bye nothing !!! So I brushed it off , ehh they might be busy so I thought . My niece picked up the order for me and dropped it off , I check inside my bag for my soup and chips I requested on the side cause I didn't want it to get soggy , and no green sauce in the bag So I called back and Jocelyn answers the phone . I tell her , hi I just placed an order and I specifically asked for "green sauce " her response "oooh it's not mmhhh, well I told the boy to put I in there " In a nice tone , I replied well it's not here , i know mistakes happen but I spoke to you and asked you for it . She replied , "well I didn't charge you for it" Okayyyy , so I replied well that's not the point , always double check your orders to go , she then Changed her tone and had an attitude and responded with "well it was FREE"! And hung up before I could even get another word in . I think she needs to be reevaluated, rude and careless to customers needs . We used to attend twice a year when in Selma for annual events. We had not been there in 7 years. I looked up reviews and I was a little worried, but we had a great dinner. One of the best Menudos I have ever had. Unfortunately, I ate up half the bowl before I took my photo....it was just that delicious. The chips were just as delicious as I remembered them. I do wish the salsa had a little more pico/ spice to them. Very busy restaurant the hostesses/ servers were always on the move. I wish I would have come here first to read the reviews vs. what's on DoorDash. They have a 4.5 and over 2k reviews on DoorDash so I figured I was good. Well NO BUENO we instantly got sick within 20 minutes of eating. I had some of the beans and their supposed "award winning" menudo. I make my own menudo and if this was award winning then mine must be worldly. I was violently vomiting with the worst stomach cramps. This has never happened to me before. It was a rough night and as of this morning my stomach still isn't right. My husband had the shredded beef salad and his stomach was upset but not to the point of vomiting but upset and sour all night. We were in town for an event and unfamiliar with the restaurants in the area. This one is immediately checked OFF the list for when we come back to this area. Gross! Shame on them. Unfortunately, the service was very slow and they were challenged to accommodate our parry of 11. I received 1 hammered chicken breast that didn't even make it through the first tortilla. It looked as if a full chicken breast was butterflied, I received half, and then it was hammered flat. Been coming here for over 10 years. We only tried it because Sals was totally packed with people. Since then I've only gone to Sals maybe twice. This is a great place. Food is consistently good and service is pretty good kinda depends on who waits on you. We've noticed that we are overlooked sometimes when there is Caucasian patrons which I'm deeply sorry to admit as a Hispanic because I really enjoy this place and know I'm not the only one who has noticed this. I have been coming here for years, love the menudo, it's been a while but ordered menudo yesterday/saturday was disappointed, it has always had a great flavor and kick of spice, this time had no spice at all, not much chili, blah in flavor which isn't like them at all, and only a few , seriously like 8 hominy and mostly juice. Hopefully just a bad day and not a different cook, disappointed to spend 35+ dollars, food all over is rising and getting less amount and cheaper ingredients. The service was just as good as the food. Amazing!! The atmosphere was perfect for a cozy Friday night. Had it been nicer weather, we would've loved to sit outside in the sweet little outdoor dining area. The chips were so yummy and the salsa had the perfect kick. I do enjoy eating here when I'm in the mood for a Mexican dish. They have really good chips and salsa and the enchilada sauce is spot on. It's around the corner from my house so convenience is also a key to my visits. I've made several stops here on different days at different hours and the service is consistently great each time. My husband and I went into eat at Rosa Linda . We hadn't eat there for about 2 months due to holidays. We went at 5 pm on 1/12/23 and they sat us she didn't give us chips in salsa like usual. Then later I notice a small sign on the counter ( which you don't use tell you pay for dinner) saying chips and salsa are by request only. What the heck chips are cheap!We order dinner then waiting I asked for more chips she said it would cost $1.99 more I said oh no way wow. When our food was brought out I had order the Selma Taco dinner with all beans no rice (I can't eat rice) there was no rice but only one serving of beans on my plate. My husband had the chimmecunga dinner with all beans also his plate had double beans no problem. I wait 5 minutes due to she was in the restroom then I asked the other waitress she said that the cooks serve out the food on to the plates and know how much to but on I told her I ordered double beans no rice . Our waitress came out I called her over and again asked showed my husband plate she said that was the way it comes I told her I ordered double beans she said , yes you did they are all there.I told her why is my husband plates was full and not mine. She said mine wasn't a big plate I told her it was a dinner and they where in the same part of the menu under speciality's . Unfortunately this place used to be acceptable. Went here for a Birthday dinner only to be disappointed. The tortilla soup was something that gets served at a soup kitchen when you're doing the best you can with the worst ingredients. The waitstaff , whom refused to give his/her name or wear a name tag, was adamant that there was never manager on site and that the owner wasn't concerned with customer service. We wanted to return the tortilla soup because it was inedible. We were forced to pay, because subpar was their standard. Not going back. I appreciate the response from the Rosalinda owner. It's nice to know that your waitress lied to you as well as lied to my family. You can see from the picture that the meat was recycled. Meat becomes tasteless after being recycled. It's very visible that there's no fat in the broth because it was overcooked away somewhere else. You may have purchased the freshest ingredients, but your staff is cutting corners due to lack of supervision. When a customer asks to speak to management, and she says "It's just us, there's no manager, no supervisor, and the owner doesn't speak with customers," a customer knows that quality control isn't occurring. I'm not specially trained in meal prep, but my sister studied. It's her birthday your staff ruined with complacency and absolute pride in fooling the owner. The waitress smiled when i said "It tastes disgusting." Her response, "That's how it's supposed to taste. I'm sorry you didn't know what you were ordering." Yummy, yummy, yummy! I've ordered off of DoorDash with them previously and it has always been great. It's packaged very nicely, with "sealed for protection" stickers to show it has not been tampered with through the delivery process. Each box is labeled with what it is that you have ordered and they even pack things separately if need be to prevent spills.
