The food was amazing and service too! This hidden gem is worth going to. We sat outside at the picnic tables and enjoyed the birds chirping.

The server was there within seconds with chips and salsa. Order drinks and they were excellent. Table side guacamole, was on point. Favorite full and just the perfect heat. I ordered the chile relleno, stuffed with shrimp and a cheese sauce. Served on a bed of diced squash diced and lightly grilled. The squash had a nice smoky flavor and not over cooked with a nice texture. All topped with a special sauce. A hint of sweetness. It all complimented each other, nothing overpowered the other. Each favor pallet was present. The side of rice was good, but no wow factor. The server "Juan" was EXCELLENT! Very attentive!! He knew his job and preformed it well. Served the food, gave us a couple minutes to view it and taste it and returned to see all was good. He was always on top of the situation. Just one small thing that's a turn off, never serve a basket with broken and pieces of chips. But I still give you a five! Because I eaten Mexican food from the west to the east and plate knocked it out of the park. to the chef and Wow Juan GREAT SERVICE YOUNG MAN!!!!!

It's rare to find people who combine professionalism with such a personal touch. It is a neat place inside but that doesn't overcome the shortcomings. I had Mexican food many times in the last couple days so I opted for the jalapeño peach pork chop. It was honestly tougher than leather- I really needed a sawsall to cut it. The flavor was fine. I knew I was in trouble when it arrived with a couple Libby's peaches fresh from the can sitting on the pork chop. My sides were tasteless mashed potatoes and steamed, mushy veggies. Chips and salsa, average. Queso with flavorless ground beef, average. My son had the birria tacos which were good. Not great by any stretch- it wasn't a traditional recipe and didn't have the traditional Oaxaca cheese. They used cheddar or another orange cheese. He said "good", I will call them "average": He ate all of the rice so it must have been decent. I didn't try a margarita but the ones I saw looked pretty typical for such a place big glass and probably average. I wouldn't eat here again. $50 for 2, no alcohol and I had water. We did get an order of Queso. There has to be better Mexican places than this nearby.

The menu leans Mexican fusion, with standout seafood and steak options across the board. One of my personal favorites is their sea bass special with pineapple reduction. It's beautifully balanced sweet, savory, and rich without being heavy and comes with perfectly cooked charred vegetables on the side. The drinks are excellent, especially the margaritas, which definitely lean on the stronger side, fair warning that one drink can feel like two. Save room for dessert too; they offer a solid selection of cakes and sweets that are a great way to close out the meal. Service is attentive and warm, and they also have private group dining rooms available, making it a great option for corporate events or holiday parties. Valet parking is available, but there's also plenty of convenient parking right next to the restaurant. Overall, Via Real is a reliable, elevated dining experience that still feels welcoming and rooted in tradition, a Las Colinas classic for a reason.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Via Real has a dedicated parking lot and valet parking - this is a sign of an upscale restaurant. Inside, it's a beautiful restaurant (currently decorated for Christmas). There's a dedicated bar in the back, the tables are perfectly set, and the vibe exudes an upscale feel. 1 Star. Service - Upon entering, you're greeted with a smiling hostess to assist. Since I was here for an event, they walked me to the appropriate room. Via Real has dedicated rooms for events, and we had a dedicated staff member who made sure we had drinks in hand. All requests were taken care of. They were fast, accommodating, and professional. 1 Star. Food - Via Real specializes in Southwestern cuisine. It's not Mexican or Tex-Mex, but if you're fans of that cuisine, you'll find familiar flavors. My events had several items, but my favorite were the individual nachos. Instead of a shared platter, a single (large) tortilla chip is topped with chicken or beef and oven-melted cheese. It felt more like bite-sized appetizers than traditional nachos. At the bar, I enjoyed a decaf cappuccino and creamy caramel flan. You can eat at the bar, but there are also tables you can sit at. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Via Real is in my neighborhood and has been in Irving-Las Colinas as long as I can remember (mid 90's). If you are ever in the area, make sure you stop by. 1 Star.

The outdoor seating is so charming lush plants, colorful flowers, and a peaceful fountain that makes you want to stay awhile. I had the chicken fajita bowl, and it was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. The margaritas were definitely tempting but I behaved and stuck with water... next time for sure. Only minor thing, there was water on the floor going into and inside the bathroom, which could be a slipping hazard. A "wet floor" sign would definitely help. Beautiful atmosphere, relaxed vibe. But we always hear people talk about how great Joe T's is so we thought maybe we just an isolated bad experience 15 years ago. But this time, it was even worse. Maybe people don't speak unfavorably out of fear of being shamed for not praising this "institution"? We arrived on a Wednesday at 5:30 so fortunately our unpleasant experience was not further worsened with a wait. The patio is still very beautiful and umbrellas were positioned to provide ample shade. But the fly situation was very annoying and could probably be helped with the spinning devices on tables or fans spread throughout the patios. The beauty of the patio doesn't compensate enough to endure the flies. The service started out good with waters, chips/salsa brought instantly. But within 15 minutes the service rapidly declined as more customers were seated. It was very tedious to the point of annoying to get refills on our drinks. Literally within 2-3 minutes of ordering we asked our waitress to switch one of the fajita orders from chicken to beef. She initially said "oh I'm sorry but I JUST put the order in". We looked puzzled and said "ok then it shouldn't be a problem changing it?" She went on to explain that she would add the beef to our table and just switch the chicken order to another table next to us who ordered chicken that she had not put in yet. All of that sounded very bizarre but the food was correct when it was delivered our table. At the time the plates were brought we requested a side of sour cream but it didn't come. After 5-10 minutes we spotted our server and requested it from her. But we still never got the sour cream. As I was paying the tab my daughter noticed that we were charged for an extra chicken fajita. So even though the server got the beef fajita added right after we ordered, she didn't take the chicken off the bill. She adjusted it once we pointed out the error. The food was the biggest disappointment out of all of it. I will always give grace to sub par service or atmosphere if the food is great. I say this with the utmost sincerity, I've had more flavorful beef and chicken at Chipotle. The chicken was so dry and served in big chunks which made it even tougher to chew. I seriously could not detect a hint of any seasoning, not even salt. It was very hot but not like the traditional sizzling fajita hot, more like it had been sitting in a heating pan or under heat lamps. For way too long. The beef was a tad bit easier to chew than the chicken but just as bland. The queso that we ordered tasted like canned cheese sauce watered down with chicken or vegetable broth and a tablespoon of pico added. The portion sizes of the entrees, the tortillas, the pico, the guacamole were all very generous. It's just a shame that it doesn't taste good.
