The food is just meh. I've eaten lunch and now dinner here. I ordered the brisket nachos the first time which is an appetizer, but it's plenty of food for me the brisket lacks seasoning and was overcooked and rubbery. The second time for dinner I got the brisket chili relleno and was quite different from what I'm used to. It was not fried and was more of a destructed dish. The poblano was placed on top of brisket on top of watery squash, and zucchini and bell pepper. The vegetables were extremely raw. The whole dish was insanely bland. The mark of a good food place is one that updates itself and Oaxaca has certainly done that. There Aguachile De scallops and Bahia Enchiladas are two examples of new menu items that are simply amazing. Nice place, friendly staff and great food. We stop here to give them a try, for the minute I walked into the door I was wowed. Hostess greeted us with a smile and seated us immediately. The server was there within seconds with chips and salsa. Order drinks and they were excellent. Table side guacamole, was on point. Favorite full and just the perfect heat. I ordered the chile relleno, stuffed with shrimp and a cheese sauce. Served on a bed of diced squash diced and lightly grilled. The squash had a nice smoky flavor and not over cooked with a nice texture. All topped with a special sauce. A hint of sweetness. It all complimented each other, nothing overpowered the other. Each favor pallet was present. The side of rice was good, but no wow factor. The server "Juan" was EXCELLENT! Very attentive!! He knew his job and preformed it well. Served the food, gave us a couple minutes to view it and taste it and returned to see all was good. He was always on top of the situation. Just one small thing that's a turn off, never serve a basket with broken and pieces of chips. But I still give you a five! Also, if you read all my other reviews, you will see I very rarely give anything less than a four-star rating. I take no pleasure in giving this place of poor rating. Holy moly! The green salsa was delicious!! Everybody loved their food. Our waiter was very nice, though, I wish he would have written things down because he forgot quite a few things, but always brought them when we asked a second time. Place was redecorated since our last visit. Nice and clean, new menus. Unfortunately, same result in regards to the food. Ordered the easiest of dishes.....tacos. Seems more and more places have decided to let you make your own tacos now. Served with melted, greasy cheese and onions. Lettuce and rest of the ingredients were piled underneath them. It's was Cinco De Mayo weekend! I received an invite to Oaxaca Mexican Cuisine in Weatherford. A Tejano Band Called, Latin Magic was performing outdoors for the occasion. There was a lot going on in this restaurant. There was an outdoor party underneath the tent that was going on right outside. So, the staff was taking care of them. There was a 40th birthday party going on and a party in VIP room too. So, all hands were on deck. So, our wait seemed like an hour? We had a Caucasian waiter that was patient and bent over backwards for my friend. He went MIA for awhile so, my friend had to ask someone else for help but, he couldn't speak English well so, my friend had to speak Spanish. He seemed overwhelmed but, he managed. Hot sauce and Chips were delicious. Chili Reno tasted sort of earthy? The seeds and core were not removed. The Cheese Sauce was bland but the Chili Con Carne was seasoned well and tasty. White Queso was warm and tasty. I really enjoyed, despite the negative reviews. I was glad to be able to eat here. I've passed by this restaurant a few times. Now, I can say I've eaten here. We're fans!!! Okay the presentation of the food is impressive to start! The salad is a whole meal all by itself with the freshest of ingredients! My fajitas came out sizzling and mom's enchiladas look mouth-watering. She immediately took a bite and said, "Oh yes! This is good!" The salsa chips are cooked fresh and nice and salty. We came to this restaurant after we left On The Border up the street. We were tired of waiting for a table so I said let's go try it. The place is very cozy and inviting. They have a nice bar with comfortable chairs in the center. We sat in a table off from the kitchen and bar and our waitress was Natalie. We ordered the melon margaraita of the day and a Sangria swirl and queso. Drinks came quickly and the bowl of queso was right behind it. Queso had beef added. It is the white think queso which we don't really care for. I regretted ordering it at $11 for the bowl. I ordered a small tortilla soup and hubs ordered Enchiladas Rancheras. I wouldn't order it again as it had no flavor but I tried the enchiladas and they were good. Staff is on top of it hear! Drinks, food anything you ask for comes out quickly. Solid food and drinks for a dinner out! Highly recommend their infused tequila - many different flavors and delicious. The chips and salsa are homemade and really great. I'd bottle up the salsa! Server was friendly. Restaurant is your typical Tex Mex vibe. Only reason for four stars is due to the main dish. Don't get me wrong, it was good, just seems a little pricier for the quality. Decided to try Oaxaca out on a Friday night based on the 4 star rating (also, because our first choice Texas Roadhouse was jam-packed!). Although busy, we found parking at the rear of the restaurant. We were seated promptly. Atmosphere was pretty much expected for a Mexican restaurant. My wife & I each ordered the chicken flautas. The food arrived super fast (around 12 minutes), and everything tasted good, although they were a little chincy with the amount of guacamole we received with our order (I like enough to eat with each of my flautas). Beware - the salsa they bring you is very garlicky. Was tasting it in my mouth for a few hours after we left. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, not sure it was a 4 star experience, so I'll stick with a 4 star. If there is a next time, we would order something new. read more
