Amazing experience on a family run coffee farm! Tours by reservation only but totally worth it.

Everyone and all food was absolutely great! We had Pablo as our guide who was so fun and friendly. He gave us the whole run down on everything and every place. He has a true talent for what he does. The group was small, there was about 6 of us. I believe groups don't get too large, maybe around 10 people. Which is nice because no one gets lost or unheard. I highly recommend this tour!

You'd get a text message reminder a day before the tour and they would ask if you have food restrictions or allergies. You'd also get a reminder where the meeting spot is. We met at Banco Popular, introduced ourselves and went our merry way to the 5 different food spots. Pablo ordered the food before hand so that when the group arrived at the different restaurants/places, the food was ready and we did not have to wait that long. Our first stop was Cafe Cuatro Sombras where we had coffee and croissant ham/provolone cheese/guava butter. I liked this croissant with a hint of tanginess/sweetness from the guava. Noncoffee drinkers had options of lemonade and tea. Second stop was Señor Paleta. There's no indoor seating here so we had the delicious parcha (passion fruit) popsicle. Yum! Very refreshing, great for this warm weather! Third stop was Cafe El Punto. This place has a lot of artwork by local artists. We had ceviche de pescado and alcapurrias de la casa which were nice. Fourth stop was El Patio de Sam where we "made" our own mofongo. We had fried plantains and garlic butter, mashed them in a mortar and pestle, and added the chicken before turning the mortar upside down to get the mofongo. This was flavorful and had more moisture compared to another mofongo we had. Last stop for dessert was Vaca Brava. We had flan which was nice. We enjoyed the food, the tour, and the conversations. Great experience here.

We walked in and explored the place. They sell out things besides chocolate including souvenirs, but they mostly sell chocolate. We all picked our faves and each took a small box to go. It was an incredibly hot day, so we also purchased some cokes to go. Service is quick, regardless of how many people may be in the shop. The chocolate was silky, and so delicious! So happy we stopped here!

On our second afternoon we went into Charlotte-Amalie to look around and do some shopping. The driver for Dohm's Water Taxi, who drove us from the St. Thomas Airport to our hotel pointed out the Belgian Chocolate Factory as we drove past, and recommended it. Being from St. Louis, with great chocolatiers like Bissinger's, Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate, and Bijoux Chocolates, we had to visit The Belgian Chocolate Factory, and we're glad we did. The staff is welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed several great flavors, in milk chocolate and dark chocolate: passion fruit, cherry, salted caramel & hazelnut; all made onsite. My wonderful wife also enjoyed some chocolates with nuts mixed in - equally tasty. We definitely recommend visiting. ----- ----- -----

I've bought them at the grocery store for my mother over the years when I couldn't find Menier. I was hoping to see some unique desserts at Chocobar Cortés. Let's just say that the chocobar at this location was not what I was expecting. It's like an express version of their original one in Old San Juan. This is located in the lobby of the Condado Palm Hotel. There are 2 entrances. Don't make the same mistake we did by trying to access at street level. That door is locked. You'll need to enter through the hotel lobby. The service is very slow here. There was only one other person there. We ordered a box of 6 chocolates and payed for it. I'm guessing he was making a drink for the other guest because he asked us to wait a few minutes. It ended up being longer so he told his colleague (who just came back from a break) to make up the chocolate box for us. Unfortunately, it took even longer as this other guy was more interested in the 2 young girls who just walked in. The chocolate bonbons were good, but nothing unique. It's the same artisan chocolates that you see everywhere for the same high price. Perhaps this location is better for their specialty cocktails in the evening time. I was looking forward to trying the choco-latte at some point. I doubt there will be a next time.
