However per my cousin, it was absolutely a gamble getting into Monica's due to its popularity. It's your typical Italian deli and stocked with many of yummy bites. I couldn't pass up the burrata special, holy cow, was this fresh. Every bite I wanted more. The balsamic had a lovely twang to it. Super fresh produce and fresh bread!! Can't beat it!

The servers inside are working their tails off...! Their work pace is not the issue, it's the establishment's popularity...! Looks very authentic inside like a restaurant / deli you might find in Firenze. I decided to order the Italian Sub as they make it; no changes. In hindsight, I should've changed a few things I kind of knew I wouldn't like, but wanted to roll with their take on the classic sub. The bread was very fresh and the meats abundant and plentiful! I was not a fan of the balsamic, nor the "hots" (not "hot" so-to-speak, but kind of a marinated sweet pepper, nor am a fan of sweet pickles. Condiments on their sandwich...? Mayonnaise (none), mustard (none). I believe it's only balsamic and EVIO. I ate a half sandwich and was quite full. I honestly threw the other half out. Wasn't my jam. If you'd like to try it, you can have the full summertime experience and wait in the long line in the roasting sun with no apparent breeze or.... PRO-TIP: Place an order online for pick-up; walk up, go in the second door (to the left) straight to the counter where you pay and pick up your sandwich which will be ready by the time you get there. I will try this place again; I'm just modifying the sandwich to a version I know I'll love. Side note: The chip selection had some crazy flavors I've never seen before such as "Fried Egg"

We tried the calamari rings, lobster roll, and Sail Loft Cup soup. The calamari was crispy without being overly heavy, the lobster roll was the highlight for me, and the Sail Loft Cup was a great choice alongside the seafood. Service five stars. I also recorded some videos of the restaurant, waterfront setting, and menu so you can get a better feel for the place before visiting. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're in Boston and looking for a relaxed place for seafood with a great waterfront atmosphere.

I'm so glad we came here! First of all, the service was wonderful, and the view was just as amazing. But let's talk about the food... Of course, I had to get the lobster roll, and WOW -- I was in lobster heaven! There was SO much lobster meat packed into that roll. I got it with hot butter, which came on the side, so I could dip every delicious bite. Absolutely perfect! The fries and coleslaw were pretty good too. My sister went with the clam chowder and chicken salad. The cup of clam chowder was HUGE and delicious. She was kind enough to let me have a few bites, but that's where her generosity ended because she happily finished the rest. She also really enjoyed her chicken salad, especially since it was light on the mayo, exactly how she likes it. All in all, this little "backup plan" turned out to be a great decision. No regrets whatsoever! We left full, happy, and very satisfied. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

The Good: The scallions and croutons made the initial first bites pretty good and service was pleasant and fast (I was the only person there). The Bad: Pretty pricey for what you get. There was no corn in it, sweetness could have helped, and while there was a fair amount of bacon bits the clam flavor was lacking. The potatoes were either firm with a good bite or completely mushy leaving me to believe they consolidated an old batch with a new one. And while I appreciate the friendly service for Boston, they put in a couple plugs for a tip, so I caved, but thought that was off-putting given the effort was to ladle my soup into a cup and they forgot to get my drink initially. Not ordering from here again.

Compared to the Oyster Bar that I purchased from at Quincy Market, which was $12.10 and included a bread bowl, this hurt a little. I guess having the game on and coming in from a beautiful run on the Charles put some rose coloring my reviewing glasses. I must have been hungry in the moment. But I'm glad I checked back at how much I paid after reading other reviews. I also looked at their branding in the website for hub hall, and I think it's appropriate to expect more, especially for the price. I'm glad there weren't Lobster Rolls available at Quincy Market for a little bit otherwise this little cup from Hub Hall would have been my only Boston Chowder experience.
