While they are under the same corporate umbrella, do not confuse this shop with Monica's Mercato. The sandwiches may technically be the same on the menu, but in practice they are very different. This review is based only on my experience with Monica's pasta shop's sandwiches. It is not a result of the comparison. I'm merely advising you to go to the mercato should you want a sub of that quality. Anyways, I'm sure the pasta is great here. It looks yummy in the store! The sandwiches were just okay. The steak in the steak too sandwich was yummy, but it was not a very hefty sandwich. The other materials were pretty sparse in it. The bread didn't seem very fresh, either. The chicken Milanese was also just okay, but taken down a further notch because I found a bone in the chicken. I unfortunately won't be coming here for sandwiches again, but maybe for pasta, since that seems to be more their thing!

Excellent fresh pasta! Plus lots of other great snacks to take home. Also a great place to buy a takeout lasagna for two or an order of meatballs to serve with a salad and call it dinner!

Part of food tour and we were provided an italian sub and a caprese sub. Both were great - bread was crunchy and light - the cheese was fantastic and the meats were what you would expect. I enjoyed these quite a bit but I do think the wheelhouse here is the pasta so I think that is what I would try if I'm cooking pasta at home. Super solid but probably like pizza joints - lots of great options and none stand out against peers and that is probably the case with sandwiches here since these didn't stand out but were decent and I'd return for another but I wouldn't come across town like I would for the cannoli and Caffe Vittoria.

Decided to go in because the front of the store looked really good. While in there all the Italian classics were there and everything looked amazing. Decided to go for some fontal cheese and 2 sandwiches (prosciutto cotto and a Milanese sandwich). Both were delicious and if I would have stayed longer in Boston, I would have definitely came back.

Italian grinder is perfect with a light spicy pesto. Quick service. No seating, but go sit outside Paul Revere's house in the park.

If you're in the Boston area, I would consider it a sin NOT to try Bricco's Salumeria. Not joking when I say that my favorite bite experienced during my entire trip to Massachusetts, came from one of the focaccia sandwiches I ordered from Bricco's. I have already made it a point in my mind to hit this spot in the North End of Boston any and EVERY-time I find myself in the Boston area. It truly is an Italian staple and a Boston Classic! I am a sucker for the majority of places that promote and sell to the public the local or imported ingredients and produce that are used in the making of the speciality menu items that make the spot a household name. Truly a traditional and classic Italian spot that speaks to the inner Paisan inside. It's like stepping into a part of Italy when you walk in here. The place is oozing with class and history, along with a mouthful of delicious stories to hear and sample from the staff that breathe life Into this place. The only bad thing is the limited seating. Thankfully though, there's a local park down the road that you can sit at while you enjoy this wonderful Boston Gem.

The bakery is cash only and sells a variety of breads: baguettes, ciabatta, sourdough, & olive bread. In addition to the sfogliatelle, they sell muffins, croissants, and focaccia and muffins. The sfogliatelle was pretty good, the pastry was crispy and flaky and the lemon ricotta filling was very rich and creamy. I would've loved to have a couple loaves of the bread, but there was no way I was going to be able to bring it home as I was already maxed out with my carry ons!

The inside is pretty small so make sure you get a reservation ahead of time. In the warmer months you can sit outside but we sat at the bar since it was too cold outside and the regular seating was all booked up. The bar seating is tight so beware if you have a big jacket or bag with you! We ordered the celery Cesar, cavatelli, and margarita pizza. The celery Cesar was interesting. It's literally thin pieces of celery tossed in Cesar dressing. It immediately reminded me of the small side you get when you order buffalo wings -- not exactly in a good way. The cavatelli was delicious and perfect to split. My friend and I split the salad, pasta and pizza which was great. The portions were just right and this meant for an inexpensive dinner for each of us which you love to hear. The margherita pizza was good but nothing that'll blow you away. The slices are tinyyyy though. My friend took home the pizza leftovers (2 slices) but we almost left them on the plate because that's how small they were. All in all it was a cute spot and I'd be interested in trying other menu items!

I ordered it anyway and did not have any reaction, but I did take off one star because they could easily improve by using a separate pot for gluten free cooking. I got mine with pesto and added Parmesan, and it was really tasty. The portions are huge, easily enough for two meals, which makes it feel worth the price. I also liked that the pasta comes in to go style containers even when dining in, so everything is already packed and you do not need to wait for a box or lid. The staff member was very friendly too, asking where we were from and making nice conversation. Overall, a very solid stop with good food and generous portions.

My first introduction…read moreended up being at a corporate event in Boston's Seaport district, where lunch arrived courtesy of one of the city's best-known sandwich shops. The catering was impressive. Before anyone even took a bite. Every half sandwich was individually wrapped and clearly labeled, with salads and sides neatly organized, making it easy for a large group to grab lunch without the usual catering chaos. The choices were wide and varied. We took our lunches upstairs to a rooftop seating area overlooking the Seaport, which made for a pretty great setting on a beautiful afternoon. I chose the Gobbler, and it lived up to the hype I've since read in other reviews. At first glance it sounds like a Thanksgiving leftover sandwich, but it's much more than that. The turkey was fresh and flavorful, and it was complemented by stuffing, cranberry sauce, spinach, pepper jack cheese, and just enough chipotle mayo to add an unexpected kick, without overwhelming everything else. It's one of those combinations that sounds busy on paper but comes together remarkably well. I spoke with several others over lunch, and they were equally impressed with their choices. That's always a good sign when you're feeding a crowd. It's one thing to make a great sandwich to order; it's another to deliver dozens of them catered while maintaining that level of quality. Since this was catered, I can't really comment on the restaurant itself. The service on the catering side, however, was evident in how thoughtfully everything was prepared and packaged, and the rooftop setting where we enjoyed lunch certainly didn't hurt. Needless to say, this won't be my last Sam LaGrassa's sandwich. I fully intend to visit the restaurant one of these days, and in the meantime I'll spend some time trying to recreate that Gobbler at home (maybe with sliced roasted chicken, but also with turkey when I have it). It was that good.
