Beware of misleading promises - avoid working with Jose Martinez I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Jose Martinez at LA Fitness. While visiting from out of state, he convinced me to switch my existing LA Fitness membership through him by promising I would pay less and have my current annual fee refunded. He claimed he was "close" to his boss Natalie and that she would waive or refund the fee after I was charged. Trusting him, I moved forward--only to find myself paying two annual fees and receiving zero support after the sale. After I signed up, Jose completely ghosted me--ignoring texts and calls. The two times I did get him on the phone, he was incredibly rude, laughed at my concerns, and even made an unprofessional comment about my weight and called me "crazy." I later contacted Natalie directly, and she confirmed that Jose had never spoken to her about the agreement he promised me. This experience felt shady and manipulative, like he was just chasing a commission with no regard for honesty or customer service. I tried to be reasonable and even gave him a chance to explain, but the lack of accountability and his behavior afterward made that impossible. I hope LA Fitness takes this seriously and ensures others don't go through the same. read more

My teenage son was looking to join a new gym & decided to go after school to check this gym out with some of his friends they all filled out the guest pass there was a gentleman in the front who was so rude and disrespectful I can't even believe this person is the face of this gym! Watch out for the scammers that work here, I called to sign up since I used to play racquetball and I even thought of adding another family member and after listening to them asking me for start up fees which I have never paid before I told them I'm not interested, [[HIGHLIGHT]]they called me 3 days in a row and even Jose the manager called me they said they would not charge me any subscription fees and I agreed to that, I asked to see my contract before signing anything and they assured me they would have it ready when I went in, I gave them my credit card and they charged me first and last months and I hadn't gone in I then saw more charges and I went in person and found out through Nick who was great helping me figure out what are they charging me for, sure enough the subscription fees and I told them that's deceiving and he apologized and assured me that corporate would call me to make it right, no calls and I have been charged another $29 since then and another $10 in total I have been charged almost $300 and I called and was told that they would refund me, I lost interest in this guys or their membership it's been 10 days and nothing so I'm disputing and blocking them, sad to see that this gym practices these tactics if I could I would give them a 0 stars[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] read more

Nothing fancy here. It's local (4 miles from my house local) that's the only reason I come here. Would be nice if they updated their machines so they could link to our fitness apps/watches. This gym just needs a makeover, overall it's a clean, always been greeted at the door there's always plenty of people working and working out. As a whole, LA Fitness is a solid gym to be a member at because they're everywhere and you can typically find one nearby. Unfortunately, this location is pretty run down. Machines have tears in the pads, paper towel dispensers are usually out in the men's bathroom (not sure on the female bathroom, and the toilet area is usually a mess. Yes, that can be blamed on guests but isn't there staff to keep up with the facility? With better facility management, this can easily be turned around. read more

LA fitness at this location has become very outdated. AC does not work properly so it feels very stuffy inside. People don't take weights off the machines which gets very annoying because plates are too heavy for me to remove. It is very crowded also and not exciting classes. read more

Not Great but Good Gym I first became a member of LA Fitness at this gym around 2002 when I was a teenager. It's always changing, which I suppose is a good thing. Pros Good selection of weights and machines. Clean and well-stocked with soap and paper towels The treadmills at most LA Fitnesses stick a big ass personal TV in your face but not this gym. Sauna's more spacious than those at other LAF's in the area and it's consistently hot Cons Because of space limitations, the treadmills are unusually close to each other. All the equipment is generally close to each other really. Lockers are narrow too. You might find yourself too close to someone who's coughing, playing bad music with no headphones, obnoxiously talking on the phone, etc. Front desk staff's customer service is just so-so. Neither friendly nor unfriendly. read more

I've been a member at LA Fitness Corona, CA since 2013. The club was great! Good instructors and a variety of classes. Since COVID, the club classes have declined. It took forever to get instructors back at this club and its still not as many classes as pre virus. In any case, my complaint is the scheduling. The person that manages this is Suzanna. For the past month, I have walked into the club only to find many classes cancelled (Six this month alone that I attend.) I always check the schedule online before heading to the gym. Sometimes the notice is taped to the gym wall, sometimes you stand around waiting for someone to show up to teach. Its so unpredictable. I've talked to the people manning the front desk, called corporate twice and its still the same old excuse. Other members are ticked off as well. Today when I called in to express my frustration, even though the person at the other end was apologetic, she then said "We can place your membership on hold if you'd like". Did I miss something? I want to work out! I plan my schedule around going to the gym, I'm paying for a membership, I want someone to show up to teach the class or at least post that its been cancelled before I and others waste our time going there. The equipment is great. The AC is always working. Parking is easy too. However the staff is not very friendly, especially the two dudes behind the juice bar. I order protein drinks from them all the time and one of them alway gives me shade. Also don't give the Sales Rep your TWO GUESTS telephone numbers because they will literally harass them to join the next day. The Sales Rep should of asked me permission to call my friends out of respect. It was embarrassing when my friends asked me if I gave LA fitness their numbers. yikes! I've been going to this club for about 5 years now. Was an Amazing club pre Covid. But since then it has been in a decline. I enjoy working out early in the am right when they open. It seems they don't have enough staff to clean and put weights in their appropriate places. Dumbbell rack is mismatched with dumbbells scattered all around the club on top of that the plate weights are left on the floor or stacked only on one weight rack here and there. Most recent problem was the scheduled the mat in front of dumbbells to be replaced at 6 am closing off all access to dumbbells and a week later they had a painter painting various areas including locker room at 6 am leaving the fumes a bit too much and closing off some areas. Lastly you would think they would have a water refill station. When they finally got one it has been "Scheduled for service" for over a month. Would not recommend this club. read more

Joined this gym a few months ago for the Kids Club and honestly couldn't be happier with the staff watching my toddler. Ms. Basma is one of the usual ladies in the morning and she takes especially good care of my son, even when he's having a rough day. Every time I pop my head in to check on my baby, he is always happy playing with the other kids while the staff is close and nearby. It makes me feel super comfortable to leave him for a quick workout. Definitely recommend the Kids Club here for busy moms! Especially when Ms. Basma is working, she is seriously awesome. Just signed up and we are really quite shocked and disappointed at the lack of maintenance of the equipment. Bikes not working, missing casters making them off-balance or just clunking when you try to peddle. And treadmills that have signs saying down/need service repair...for the last month, really?! For what they charge for membership, one would expect more quality. This feels more like what you would find in the gym behind your apartment leasing office. Probably won't be renewing if something doesn't change soon. read more
