this LA Fitness was a rather large two-story facility that had four different areas to lift weights and use machine machines. They also had a full spin room several exercise classrooms as well as several racquetball courts. They also had a cross training area that allows for ropes weights on a sled where you could push or pull and a full cross training pull-up area. The staff didn't really say hello upon entering or goodbye upon exiting and they're not as welcoming, but I'm OK with that. read more

Welp we have a new gym! Of sorts. The positives, they got rid of the basketball court! The bad news, they got rid of the freemotion machines that I loved so much. Among some others that were fan favorites. Now to the review! They replaced a lot of the life fitness machines with hoist and matrix. Probably my two least favorite manufacturers of gum equipment around but the fact the old basketball court is all rogue power racks, makes up for it. They also removed the whole front area for a artificial turf training area. While this space is wasted on me, I'm sure there will be tens of people who use it. Poor use of space LA fitness. Now dumbbells? It's a entire back wall of weights. More than you know what to do with. They also added more benches which was desperately needed. Overall a big win. Their cardio machines? They need some love. I'm shocked they didn't replace them all, most of them are rusted with sweat residue and are need of replacing. Or repainting. Your call. But the cardio machines work, so there's that. I frequent a lot of gyms in the area and this one being so new will keep my attention for a while. Over all 7/10. read more

I would give them no stars if I could. I go here because my fiancé goes here. I have been to gyms since 2003. This is the most poorly run gym I have ever been to. Management gives excuses. Members sit behind desks doing nothing. Don't wear shorts!!! Equipment tears been here for honestly 7 months. They tell us they have only one company that does repairs. I have requested them to tape the tears so people don't get staph infections. Still goes on deaf ears. I contacted corporate and spoke to someone, and they said they'd look into it. That was two months ago. I cannot believe I pay money to go here. Their people sit behind the counters doing nothing. There, people can be checking or replacing equipment. When I complain, they ask me to show them the equipment I'm speaking of. How do they not see this? Also, never sanitizer in wall mounts. The other day I have to reach over into the reception pit for my phone to reach this guy's check-in monitor. If I could go to a new gym, I would. I loved Planet Fitness, but they don't have my fiancé's equipment. read more

I love the gym itself but the staff have alot to be desired. I am not happy with them at all. When I went in to activate free trial, I was told I would be receiving free gift which I never asked for...upon joining. Long story short, I never received what they stated they were going to do...Instead met by multiple excuses...bottom line, they should not set false expectations, for something that was never asked for, to sell membership...especially when I intended to join anyway. Then treated like inconvenience when I dared ask about it. I intend on keeping membership because gym has what I need, but just don't care for the staff. read more

3/1/23 @ 2:42pm cst: our 1 year and 17 day old child was bitten by another child 2-3 years old due to an understaffed business who doesn't care! 12 kids, 1 caretaker and a manager who stands there doing nothing! we just called corporate "jimmy" of la fitness and he did nothing but yell at us when he realized he didn't do anything for a week and got flustered. he's refunding $45, no incident report, no gym manager contact, no call back when promised since this happened a week ago. he said to post all the reviews we want. he said go to another gym, claims he doesn't know why the gym didn't contact us and admitted he wouldn't of called us back had it not been for me using my first name when i called just now, not realizing it was from last week's case under my wife's membership name. so there you have it. they don't care, did nothing right, said he "doesn't know if they will hire more caretakers or not or if the manager was even spoken with". just a, "no full refunds, review us all you want, we don't have to fix the equipment and have a good day". clearly a hostile "polite p!ss off". we said this could affect thousands of dollars of customers... and he said that's fine. so onto another gym, heed the warning, this place is not good. i'm sorry to all my neighbors out there who also experienced bad things there. absolutely, horrible place. 0/5 stars. read more

I have had nothing but good experiences at this location. I personally go to this location as well as the one on Farm to Market Rd 529 and have had no issues with either. The staff is always attentive and I have not gotten any creepy stares or felt uneasy at anytime between these two locations. They are always stocked with supplies to wipe down equipment and everything is cleaned regularly. So, if you're looking for a good place to workout that is not too costly on the bank, then I definitely recommend this place. They also have regular classes that you can attend as well as having a Sauna and a swimming pool. I have heard of people getting valuables stolen, so just like in every other place. Make sure to lock your car and hide your valuables in your trunk or in a locker prior to working out! read more

Just moved to the area and wanted to see what the LA fitness is like here. Was not impressed at all with the staff and how they conducted themselves. I asked to see if my membership will work here and I never got an answer. Instead the team member got on her cell phone and totally ignored me. Team meme era were burping out loud and the personal training manager was super rude and unhelpful. It's a shame because the LA fitness in California was much better than the staff here. I signed up for another gym even though I've paid for a whole year with LA fitness. You guys can do better than this. read more

This was my first time here. At first sight the place look nice but in the ladies locker room it was dirty. The bathrooms had trash on the floors and every stall had clogged toilets and the paper towels dispenser was empty or not working, the sauna had blood on the wood (I touched it ), this place is just dirty. I came to this location on a day it was TORRENTIALLY raining. It scared me, BUT! I made it. And I love this place because it's EASY to get to. In the downpour, I exited quickly off 290, took the light, and went through the shared parking lot to get to the gym. Easily parked and was inside drying off in a Zumba class in no time! Classes are fun! Racquetball available. Pool/spa/sauna/basketball. Weights and cardio, stair masters, stretching, locker rooms. They have it all. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a gym to call home. read more

As far as gyms go, this one is not bad at all. I see a lot of the complaints are about broken equipment and billing. I have been coming regularly every morning for awhile and I have not ran into all this broken stuff they are talking about. I had no idea that iron plates and Dumbbells could break. Billing, well, read your contract and follow the rules in it. It really is that simple. Also, don't blame a gym for your inability to read a contract. Pretty sure you are a grown up. Because of COVID pandemic, we've chosen to freeze our accounts. We had signed up for personal training prior to the pandemic. Apparently, freezing the accounts does not freeze the personal training charges, which makes no sense because how can one get the training when one does not have an active membership and, therefore, cannot set foot inside the gym? I was charged more than once, at $300/month each time for personal training for 2 memberships even though both accounts were "frozen." Several times, I've called the gym regarding the billing. Each time, I was given round-about answers to convince me to keep our memberships instead of cancelling them altogether. Today, I spoke to both the person at the front desk and the person in charge of training, neither helped me to resolve the issue. Essentially, they said "corporate" made the charge and they can't do anything about it. Bottom line, there would be no refund for $300/month charge for the non-existent and impossible training sessions because our accounts are frozen. BTW, we already have to pay an extra $20/membership each month to keep them frozen! So, that's already an extra cost to us to keep the frozen status. After speaking to both the front-desk person and the personal training manager, I was told I need to speak to a higher-ranking business manager. While he did call me back, he offered no resolution and, instead, told me that it's a "corporate problem." He then transferred me to a number which he said another "account manager" can better serve me. However, the phone call AUTOMATICALLY went to voicemail and I was put on hold. Out of curiosity, I left the call on speaker phone to see if anyone would actually pick it up while I type this review. The call has been on hold for over 30 minutes and NO LIVE PERSON has answered the phone. This phone transfer to "corporation" is yet another example of their dead-end tactics, and another scam to keep customers from complaining and getting any issues resolved. This is a terrible way to run a business. They have no qualms about unethical business practices. They get a hold of your credit card and make charges as they see fit. It is apparent that they won't issue a refund even though any reasonable person would see that those personal training sessions are NOT authorized charges by the customer. What kind of corporation its it that won't issue a refund for non-rendered services to paid-but-inactive members? An entirely bad business. It should not exist. read more

This LA is one of the club's standard floor plans started in the mid 2000's. The club is clean and most of the equipment is up to date and in good condition. Full basketball court and 5 racket ball courts. Staff is fairly friend and it is not overly crowed. Pricing was inline with national averages. I would definitely recommend this club for the workout junkie! read more

Came in and dealt with Travis, nice guy and had decent knowledge of the club. Ended up signing up even though I thought it was pricey for what you were getting but it was much closer than driving to fitness connection. I definitely think that the equipment needs an upgrade but it all does the same. Staff at the counter are always friendly when I walk in and I like that the weights are always put back up. I give 4 stars but I think that the equipment needs that upgrade. read more

Love this place! I honestly want to join one of these gyms in my neighborhood when I go back home. The machines are ultra modern and the facility was immaculate! Machines are also spread out and in order of muscle groups so you don't feel like you're on top of one another. The people are friendly too! They have a juice bar and that was new for me I would highly recommend trying an LA Fitness out. I've been a member at another club for a few years and I'm most certain I'm making a change very soon! Oh and they also have Raquel ball courts! Price for membership is greater than I'm used to spending, and for what you're getting, I believe my health is worth it. When I'm swimming and another member thinks it's ok to slap my hand then make a fist and act like he's going to punch me because I asked him to not be in my swimming lane, is met with the managers apathy (Kristin, the one from Chicago) it's time to cancel my membership and move on. I will never use this gym ever again! The staff there act as if they can't be bothered when you ask the a question. They never smile. Rarely say hello or thank you. I started going to this gym on January 7th and it has been a real joy. I couldn't tie my shoes and my back would start hurting just from taking a shower. Then I started working out with personal trainer Scott Jarboe and my life changed. He eased me into a routine that helped me with all of my issues and he didn't put me in danger while we worked out. 7 weeks later I am down 39 lbs. I can tie my shoes again and walk up stairs without dying I am stronger and in the best shape of my life. Thank you Scott and the personal training staff at the gym. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. The gym is clean. Locker rooms and bathroom are clean enough. I would like to see new equipment, but their equipment still works just fine. It can get busy but being around so many people all working towards similar goals is inspiring and motivating. I strongly recommend you join. read more

The women's locker room is huge and always very clean. Tough location and sited in the ever-growing Cypress suburbs. It's almost hidden behind a plethora of diners, thrift shops and bricks of business. Inside is spacious, the pool is too cold for me & too small 'cause i swim like a great 'black' shark ready to attack a Jacuzzi. Weights and machines are logically posted, and gyms established by their free weights, to me, and this one is established well. It's been a while since I've been to a gym... now... I'm not necessarily a cow (although, I see myself as a moo-cow...), but getting back into shape is something that's hard for anyone if it's not a daily regimen for you... especially the first couple of months. I walk in and was taken care of my the GM himself. He was really friendly and personable and really got me excited to start getting healthy again. I came in the next day for a workout session with a Personal Trainer and ended up getting trained by the guy who oversaw all of the trainers. His name was Damon and was super fun! Trainers like these should be commended because they help motivate you to come back and train and get back in shape. Having a personable, motivating, and fun trainer is what I look for and they have it! The great thing about everything is that they remember you! They see more than 100 people a day and they remember YOUR name! That's pretty cool and makes it a more "intimate" feeling where you feel like you're welcome there and everyone there is your friend. Most gyms that I've been too don't know you, don't care, and don't want to care. I can't wait to continue my lifestyle change with LA Fitness! read more

This has got to be the worst LA Fitness location in Houston. For weeks now (dating back to at least Dec 2014) there have been multiple cardio machines which have been broken/out of service. Yet, they do not bother repairing them. Of course, January of any year is always the busiest month of the year at a gym - and this is the case here - so with the broken machines, there are less stations avaliable, for more people trying to use them. Last night, I confronted the operations manager with these concerns, and she said "well when you have a high volume of people using machines, they tend to break down." Ok great, I understand, and when machines break down, you fix them. I then advised her that there are 5 Cardio machines broken, including a stationary bike missing the left pedal that they could not even be bothered to place a 'broken' sign on. Amazingly, her response to this was simply "I only order the parts, I can't control if they get fixed or not". YES, THE OPERATIONS MANAGER OF THE CLUB SAID THIS. She would give no commitment to when (or IF) these were ever going to get fixed. I then advised her, that I hate to do this, but I'm going to lodge a complaint with LA Fitness Corporate, to which she replied, go ahead, but all they are going to do is advise me (the Operations Mgr) about it (so, essentially, it would do absolutely zero good). As my wife and I are both paying members of LA Fitness (i.e., we are not grazers that perpetually show up with a free week guest pass), it is frustrating to have to wait on cardio machines because LA Fitness is too lazy or indifferent to fix them. read more

This is my favorite L.A. fitness in my area! I have one closer to my house but I find this one is cleaner! The instructors are way more intense and you really get a great workout! The bathrooms are always clean and so is the equipment! I often see maintenance cleaning the equipment while I'm working out! read more

Bad. They just closed the gym for 2 weeks to give it a facelift but didn't replace any of the old equipment. The equipment is never cleaned by staff. The 1 basketball court they have is tiny and always over crowded. Not open late enough. Staff is not very friendly especially sales. The only reason people go here is because there's no other reasonable choice. Had I not just paid close to $100 in initial signing I would consider other gyms. I have been going to this gym for years and have never had a problem till 2/25/2020 and I really hope this matter will be resolved on 2/26/2020 beware of taking you kids to the kids Club my husband takes my daughter to the gym with him at least 3-4 time a week well this will be the last time she was go I have not been able to go to the because I'm on bed rest so not to describe their routine they have continued to go this time my daughter came home as I remove her jacket she had bites up and down her arms at least 4 bite that have turned blue and purple she could sleep this is why I'm up at 2am writing a review I am very disappointed and will be ignored my doctors orders and going to speak with the manager first thing in the morning so I can understand why nobody told us about this incident!!!! read more
