This place is located South side of Baseline East of 202 almost to 51st Ave in Laveen. For the most part it has everything that most LA Fitness have. They do have only 3 squat racks. If it is ever crowded this could be a problem. I was there on a Thursday afternoon about 2pm so it wasn't crowded. They do have enough benches and inclines. It is located in Laveen so if it is never too crowded then it's probably fine. People were friendly and bathrooms were clean. read more

This review is long overdue. I've been a member for about 3 years now and unfortunately all of the negative reviews are accurate. I've seen this location go through waves of terrible management. I thought it was just the last group of management that had terrible customer service... nope it seems to be their corporate culture (at least at this location) to treat their clients poorly. The final straw for me was the 3 day trial for a guest. Apparently their system has not been working and instead of trying to provide a solution, the new assistant manager was so nonchalant and unenthusiastic to help. Again, I lost all hope that this location will hire management that exudes amazing customer service. Beyond management, this location never has a variety of classes. There's NO instructors. I've never seen a spin class ever! The clients that attend this location have the worst gym etiquette. Nobody re-racks weights and the equipment/cables are always broken. However, he said he would do it and never did. Contacted multiple times but never happened. Will say anything to get the membership to benefit them. I would dread coming to the Laveen location because it was ALWAYS packed but it has gotten alot better during the down times (before or after work) so I don't have to fight or a machine or change my workout up last minute due to no machines available. I can say out of the spa, restroom area and sauna, one or all is always unavailable due to "maintenance" and well as the aerobics area. The cycle room seems to be available so I can usually do my body work out in there. It can also be a bit cleaner but the workers are usually friendly. Been an LA member for 10+ years. Moved to south mountain a few years ago. Sadly this place needs help and attention. Sauna and jacuzzi is always going out. Always a few machines broken. And the smoothie bar is no longer...The main reason I switched to Lifetime last week was because I'm tired of watching kids fighting inside and outside this gym. It saddens me because this la fitness gym is 5 mins from my house and my new gym is 25. But now on my drive I think about how great my decision was. ( every day!) I guess you pay for what you get and this is a pure example of that. I pay about double now at lifetime. But damn it's worth every penny. Imagine working out at a nice resort.. not going to be kids fighting about who missed the basket or who fouled who or who's "runs" the gym ... Honestly this gym just lowers your desires and makes you question your dreams.. I think this la fitness gym needs new leadership, and the corporate shirts need to pop in and see how the vibes got all screwed up. So I wanted to try out a different gym, I'm currently a member somewhere else so I thought I'd stop by and try their 3-day pass. Upon arrival the front desk young girl was super nice but as soon as I was talking to an old lady (maybe the manager) to take my ID to proceed and workout, she's questioning me why I'm here and I simply answer "I wanted to try a different gym" and she's asking if I've ever been a member and I answer yes about 3 years ago and she says okay cause this pass is usually for people that are gonna get a membership not use free passes to get in and I'm like what the heck what makes her think I'm freeloading, literally what she insinuated. I'm not gonna buy something I don't like, as no one would also. I told her I was going to get a membership but I just wanted to see the location beforehand. She could've gone totally a different way about it but the way she came off was so rude and I did tell her I've been a member in the past, I just wanted to try this location out to see if I like it but after that I will not be returning. I have been a member for 3 years and had an issue with my Membership setup that i clearly explained the background story of and instead of them attempting to fix it they wanted me to pay MORE money. They charged me top dollar for substandard personal training service and refused to refund anything or stop the monthly payments even after I've already paid over $1,200 for their garbage! - NEVER got the meal plan I was promised by the 'General Manager' - NEVER worked with a Master Trainer as promised AND that's what I was paying for! $135/mo! - Workouts were NOT designed to improve muscle imbalances per standard PT guidelines. - NEVER did any type of Myofascial release per standard PT guidelines - NEVER did any dynamic warmups or cool downs - Workout Book was updated ONLY ONE TIME in 3 months! - etc... This location is very outdated, air control needs to be replaced and upgraded. Everytime I walk in it smells like sweaty and it's super hot it's so gross. Locker rooms are always clean. Not enough space for personal training. Zumba instructors are very rude, If I am paying over $40 a month for a gym I should be able to use a small corner of the gym floor to do my personal workout away from men and unwanted watchers. We have enjoyed our membership since last November. But, when we joined we signed up for a 6 month session with a trainer. Our 6 months ended middle of May yet they charged us for a 7th month. We talked with the membership person twice before our 6 month sessions ended to verify that our trainer sessions were ending. I joined the club 2 weeks ago. I have asked for my printed pass at least 5 times. The employees play ignorance. I had an appointment with a fitness instructor named Amanda. She did not show up. I asked the front desk who had no clue where she was. I still have not heard from her, a week later. The club offers sanitized wipes. The wipe dispensers advertise only the hiring of a fitness instructor, not the need to use them on the equipment. I went to exercise 8 times since I joined. I've been to many LA fitness in Arizona and I must say this one is the probably my worst experience, I've come here a couple times just because its the closest to my house but everytime its been a shit experience, the dumbells are ALWAYS unorganized and never properly put back, the equipment and machines are placed in random areas and there's no rational placement of equipment to have a smooth workout, many of the machines I've tried to use have been broken, and the personal training is horrible when I was a beginner I needed help with my training and had a personal trainer but i learned nothing they just told me to do machines and then said okay were done! You can tell the employees just don't give a shit. read more

Weekend front desk staff Nailella was extremely rude and unprofessional upon greeting us and said we had to wait over an hour to "activate" our guest pass we filled out online until a sales staff member returned from lunch. Naturally, we could have signed the guest waiver, worked out, and spoke to sales staff when they came back from lunch but she refused to let that option work and told us to go to another club or pay a day fee. She wouldn't let me talk to anyone else or reach out to any staff to fix/address the situation. I was a member 3+ years ago and sad to see this club is still as awful as it was then. SMH. read more

This gym is not good. Period. There's something wrong with almost every machine. It's crowded. They have 3 racquetball courts that could be used for more equipment. Went in to go get a membership, they assigned me a manager and her name was Mimi. During the membership process out of nowhere she started to curse out a member and told her to get the f*** out of her sales area when I've seen multiples non employees in the sales area and she only targeted her. I personally thought that was very unprofessional due to her lack of "management" and wouldn't want to be around this kind of environment. While walking out of the facility I was speaking with other members and they also mentioned that her behavior is on going every day, she always has complaints against her as well as law suits. The short girl who activated my guest pass was being completely rude and lashing out because I didn't want to buy a membership without ever working out there once. Visited location for the first time and I usually don't write reviews unless 3 or more good/bad experiences occur. Someone had an explosion in the bathroom stall. Another bathroom stall had no toilet paper. The shower only had warm and hot water, nothing cool or cold. Treadmill I used did not have a working heart monitor. Staff was sitting busy talking at the front desk. Place got one star because they were open. I cut my workout short after experiencing one failure after another. read more
