I had a really disappointing experience at the Anytime Fitness Naperville location…read more During my workout, I was approached by the owner, Mike Starck, about an issue I genuinely was not aware of. I acknowledged it right away and told him I would take care of it on my next visit. Instead of handling it professionally, he chose to escalate the situation. He removed my personal belongings and placed them outside, which felt completely unnecessary and disrespectful, especially since I was still actively using the space. There was no one else around my workout area, and the situation did not call for that kind of response. To make things worse, he proceeded to call the police and claimed I was trespassing, which turned what should have been a simple conversation into a public and uncomfortable scene. I understand there are rules and policies, but the way this was handled lacked basic professionalism and respect. Situations like this should be resolved through communication, not escalation. I will not be returning.

However, over time, I feel the facility has gradually lost some of its "premium" feel due to a number of recurring operational issues. There appear to be several systemic problems that impact the overall member experience: Studio and Class Technology Frequent issues with audio equipment in class studios. Microphones often do not work or batteries are not charged. Classes are routinely delayed due to technical problems, which is frustrating during a 45-minute session. Locker Room Maintenance Inconsistent availability of hand towels. Non-working TVs. Only one functioning hair dryer. A general lack of attention to detail that affects the experience. Towel Service One of the most noticeable changes has been the reduction in towel availability during workouts. In the past, towels were consistently stocked and accessible throughout workouts. That service level contributed significantly to the premium experience and convenience. Trainer Support The trainers themselves are strong and professional, but they seem to lack adequate support from management, particularly regarding equipment reliability and coverage when someone is out. As a long-time member, I share this feedback because I'd like to see the HealthPlex return to the level of operational excellence that originally set it apart. Many of these issues seem solvable with stronger oversight, maintenance consistency, and attention to detail.

He is very knowledgeable about all the latest techniques, body anatomy and has all the newest equipment! He adjusts his workout to your level and if you have any limitations or injuries, takes that into consideration. Such a big help. If u have a fitness or weight loss goal, Howie is your person!!!!
