I came here with my daughter's girl scout troop. I am amazed at how well the staff here interacts with children. I did notice there were some children training on their own (not a part of our group) and they were pretty impressive. First of all, the gym is amazingly clean and doesn't smell like a gym. Which is a plus for me. all of the equipment they have in here looks like it is in great condition and nothing is in disrepair. They great you warmly when you walk in and do a wonderful job explaining to you how things work. When it came down to the actual fitness routine they did with the girls I was blown away. We were there for an hour and a half and they had those girls moving hard the entire time! The best part is all the girls were having fun at the same time. My daughter actually cried when I told her she had to leave. She is a gymnast, I know she likes being active, but she said she liked this more than her gymnastics and made me promise to bring her back. I told her if she learned MMA and did gymnastics she would kind of be like a ninja.... She loved that to say the least. We def recommend and will be looking at starting classes if possible. read more

I really wanted to be all about this place....I've been wanting to get into boxing for quite some time to supplement my Crossfit workouts and finally made the decision to join here. Ideally, I was looking for a two or three day a week membership so I could just take classes (I already have a gym at work, a PF membership and Crossfit...I know, excessive) but that wasn't offered, which I understood. I did the full membership since just the "fitness" membership didn't allow for classes. To put it simply, I am just underwhelmed with their classes. Coming from Crossfit and coaching CF, I'm used to receiving and providing individual attention. Understandably, in bigger classes, it's hard to work with each person individually but I felt like the personal instruction was lacking even when there were only 4 or 5 people in a class. It's very large-group oriented. Even in my first couple classes, it was pretty obvious I was new (learning terminology, trying to understand the "norms" etc) and I didn't feel as if anyone really made an effort to work with me and help me get acclimated. I was left to fend for myself-- which is OK, I survived, but I could totally see how this would make some people really uncomfortable. Along the same lines, I don't think I ever saw a coach provide a modification for a movement for someone who wasn't capable of doing it. I saw some people doing some very, very questionable squats, lunges, push ups, etc...but not once did I see a coach go over and offer them a suggestion on how to make the movement easier/harder to accommodate their skill level. I took one class that was intended to be basic/for beginners-- oh my gosh. Comical! At one point we needed to hold pads for someone else to punch-- for real!? I'm still trying to get MYSELF right (thus why I'm in this beginner's class!) and now you want me to be responsible for helping someone else, remember different combinations...and be able to do it on the reverse side? I was all twisted and turned around... NO WAY! I left halfway through and hit the treadmill. The equipment is beautiful and there seems to be a positive "vibe" from the trainers and members- everyone is upbeat and friendly. They have community events and it's obvious that people are developing friendships there with the coaches and other members, which is great. Locker rooms with showers are well maintained. Sauna is a nice addition Good schedule of classes offered and a nice variety of options from UFC specialties to general, full body training. Like I said, underwhelmed is the best way to describe my reaction to this place, specifically their classes. Nothing outrageously wrong with it but wasn't a good fit for me. read more

Awesome gym. I've been a member of 5 martial arts gyms over the years and this is the most well equipped and clean one I've come across. Good instruction and friendly environment as well. There's a ton of classes to meet pretty much anything you need as well as a large area for weights and cardio. Usually you have to sacrifice on the availability of quality equipment if you join a gym that provides good martial arts instruction. That is definitely not the case here. You get the best of both worlds and a really positive environment. Pricing is very reasonable and a great value for what you get. read more

I am no stranger when it comes to a boxing gym... I'm way too old and out of shape to get in a ring with anyone, but I truly enjoy a good boxing/kickboxing workout. I take breaks from time to time from this workout, but I keep coming back for more. I'm a former member of Title Boxing Club and another UFC gym and officially signed up at the end of my 10 day pass. For starters, your first class here is ALWAYS free. Secondly, you can obtain a 10 day pass to try out a number of their classes, they have a lot more than just boxing & kickboxing classes here. I have been in need of a gym that is not only close to home & work, but clean, affordable, and has everything I need from a good number of functioning strength machines, to group exercises classes with qualified instructors. This place is owned by a unique duo - Ricardo Lamas who is a UFC Fighter, and Matthew Kuschert, who has a background in I/O Psychology - together they bring the fitness and business expertise to this gym! I've also had classes with Jeff & Benny (two of the trainers there) for many years and they are wonderful to work with. You always get a good workout in, but have fun doing it! As I mentioned, there are a number of classes you can take, regardless of your fitness level, a good number & variety of cardio machines, a good number of strength machines & strength equipment, and this gym is big enough for a number of classes going on all at the same time. There is also a clean locker room/shower area AND inside each bathroom is a small 3-person sauna! I was sold the first time I walked in and got a tour from Matt before the place was even completed. This gym is located in a strip mall with other gyms, though the other gyms are NOT boxing gyms and are not at all similar, which explains why there really isn't competition being all in the same strip mall. I would like to preface this by saying this review is in no way aimed directly at Ricardo Lamas, UFC Gym, or any of the coaches or programs other than those specifically named hear in. This is a review of a specific situation and experience that I had as a member of UFC Naperville. On December 30 while leaving the gym A coach by the name of Mark Imperial was entering with his girlfriend and her sister and as I held the door open for them Mark proceeds to call me a very disgusting derogatory name that I will spare all of you. When I got home and made a post on their page about what had happened. Matt, One of the owners messaged me back with his concerns and said that they would like for me to come and talk to them about it. I did come in and speak to Matt and Rick regarding this situation and was told that Mark denied saying anything to me. This of course is not true, I am not in the habit of making up stories about people. At any rate I have a lot of respect for Rick and I had a lot of respect for Matt at that time so I agreed to just leave it alone and let things be. About a week later it was brought to my attention that Mark's girlfriend Shannon had called her boss and try to get her in trouble at work based on things that have happened in the gym regarding her and Mark. This other individual brought these concerns to Matt as well and he said that this is none of his business. A few days later I was called into the office at my job and was fired based on the same type of emails and phone calls that Shannon sent to my friends Boss as well as mine. Me not being satisfied with the resolution that Matt came up with because Mark allowed his girlfriend Shannon and to escalate the situation, so I sent an email to the Ufc corporate office explaining the situation to them. Apparently this upset Matt to the point where he is now kicked me out of the gym and made up all kinds of crazy accusations to try to back up his story. I have attached pictures and screenshots of all of our communications. My hope is that before you decide to do business with Matt you think twice because he does not put the customer first. I pay a lot of money to go to UFC gym and do not appreciate being treated this way at all. I was basically threatened and told that I was going to have legal action taken against me if I took any action against them and posted any kind of review. Well this is the United States of America and we do have freedom of speech nothing I have said in this review is a lie. There's documentation to back it all up. All it would've taken was a simple apology from management and the trainer for being disrespectful but instead it was taken this far and now this manager took it upon himself to cancel my membership when I pay for a championship membership that allows me to go to any gym I want. Completely unnecessary. Matt claims that my issue at work has nothing to do with his gym. I disagree and here's why. His trainer disrespected me and I reported him to management. Management back to the trainer and did nothing to fix the situation. I left the situation alone. The trainers girlfriend got mad that I tried to get him in trouble at work so she did the same thing to me. The trainer did nothing to stop this which makes him just as guilty. Cause and affect Matt you would think someone with a psychology degree would be able to figure that out. read more

I love this gym!! I've been going since July 2019 and I STILL look forward to going to their classes. Before joining this gym, I used to view going to the gym as a necessary evil, something that I had to do, but definitely didn't like. That has all changed! I'm getting a waaayyy better workout now, and the motivation is there. They've created a great community atmosphere and the friendly staff greet you by name. They've got a nice Facebook page that posts helpful videos, support of members, local events, holiday parties, etc. The coaches are incredibly skilled, extremely kind and encouraging. I take my two teenage sons with me as well and they are learning how to make fitness part of their life. We've also taken private lessons to start learning Jiu-Jitsu. One of my sons has also been to their wrestling camp and had private coaching sessions for wrestling as well. All of us are seeing results from our training. I highly recommend this gym! read more

This guy had promised me something and had undelivered on his promise. He had promised personal training to me and had not given it to me. Lesson Learned. Read what you sign. Probably have to save up for the $700 dollars that I lost so I can get personal training from somewhere else. read more

This is the best gym I've ever been a member at. The owners, Matt and Ricardo, are professional, courteous, supportive and fun. The coaches and staff are all top notch and provide a fun environment in which to train. The other members also make it a fun training environment. I have become friends with most of the staff and several members. I highly recommend this gym if you're looking for a different and fun way to train. read more

I've been waiting for a UFC Gym to come to Naperville. I've trained at other gyms and I know how intimidating it can be to walk into an MMA gym. However, Matt and his coaches and staff are very welcoming and friendly to everyone. This gym has everything I like; free weights, exercise machines, group classes, personal training, heavy bags, and an Octagon. All the equipment is brand new and the facility is spotless. You can get in shape, learn self-defense, and even compete here. I have never competed in the cage, but the first time I got to roll with Ricardo and tapped out to an armbar he taught us just two days before, I knew I made the right choice. read more
