The gym is fairly clean, equipment is left a mess often, but not too bad. The real issue is the training staff. I've been a trainer for 18 years, and the staff is probably the worst training group I've ever seen. Lounging/laying down next to clients while "watching form"... literally TAKING PHONE CALLS on the floor MID SESSION... leaving the client to fend for themselves during a session to check a computer.... it's pathetic. Over crowded with 4 rooms that are COMPLETELY empty. This gym has turned into a 40+ social club. Groups taking up multiple machines having full on catch up conversations, everyday.... The empty rooms they keep locked up in the back baffles me, management hoping some sucker comes in to rent the space for an unjustifiable number of money. The gym was nice. I will say that I stood at the front desk for at least 5 ot 6 mins with no acknowledgement. Two ppl were there however one was on the phone the other wasn't busy. Someone else finally came to assist me. I was there to use my guest pass to determine if I wanted to join; not a good 1st impression. The person that showed me around was kind and knowledgeable. I came back for my second guess workout today ( 8/11/26) @ 6:15am. My guest pass expired and I didn't realize it, which I expressed to the front desk associate; it was my mistake. Anyway, I was told that I had to pay 20.00 for the visit or join. Had the associate been kind enough to extend the courtesy of allowing me another guess visit, I most likely would have joined. Sometimes in the grander scheme of things we can break rules to accommodate mistakes especially if it may benefit that entity. L.A. Fitness Nottingham is amazing. From my first experience, touring with Megan, my free evaluation with Steve, one-on-one training sessions with Steph, and Zumba classes with Stanford I just keep finding more to love! The facilities are beautiful and clean, the options are plentiful so many free class and great equipment and everyone is friendly. I see the reviews complaining about it being crowded, but that's because it's a great gym. I haven't had an issue with finding it crowded, but then again maybe it's the time I choose. Thank you L.A. There is a member at the Nottingham location who wears offensive clothing. It was brought to the attention of the mgmt staff months ago. After several follow-ups, I was told it needed to be escalated. Barry Taggart (District Manager) and Dustin Pigeon (Regional Vice-President) were also contacted by myself and I have NEVER rec'd a response. The member in question wears shirts such as Trump "Thug Life" which pictures all black men with Trump in front. Another shirt is "Alligator Alcatraz" mocking Hispanics. Another is "Offended Flakes" where it's a bowl of all ethnicities "whining". I am a white female. Our gym is VERY diverse. I find what he wears offensive and it makes me uncomfortable. I know many others feel the same way and have raised their concerns to never receive a response either. The gym should be a neutral zone where you can feel safe. While it's upsetting what he wears, it's become more upsetting/concerning that I and others don't matter enough to LA Fitness to warrant a response. Thanks Barry and Dustin. You've been given my information and I even emailed Barry one last time before publicly sharing my experience and I still never heard back. Though yes this is a clean gym, the location is just far too small and over crowded. A lot of members are still perplexed why LA Fitness closed the White Marsh location, which was 3X the size, more equipment and amenities like two racquet ball courts, a sauna, and the last indoor track in the area. With all of the members shifting over to the Fullerton location, it's a CONSTANT wait for machines. When both locations were open, they were both busy, but not overcrowded. WHEN another gym goes into the White Marsh location, I will be going back. read more

This location of LA Fitness is finally open after 3+ years of waiting (#covidproblems). The gym is very clean and filled with brand new equipment. I haven't been to a gym since pre-Covid and had to relearn how to use most of the machines since the equipment was so new! The gym also has an indoor pool, turf area, cycling, and other fitness classes. All of the staff I have encountered from the time I first signed up, to every time I've checked in, have been very friendly. This gym is smaller than other LA Fitness locations but I haven't had any issues with not being able to use a machine, even during peak hours. FYI this location does lack a few amenities that other locations have such as a basketball court, sauna, and kids club so this might not be the gym for you if you need more than your basic gym amenities. read more

Just sharing my experience: I came to this gym with my father during the month of November, visiting from out of town. After I signed up, I was given the normal tour and of course I was told about the personal training program. After telling the manager, Stephen (Steven idk), that I am from out of town, he reassured me that I would be able to cancel due to the fact that I lived out of town. All I would need to do is show proof that I lived out of town. This was on November 15, 2023. I then proceeded to purchase this program, and as I read the contract, Stephen reassured me that we would work out the cancellation. On November 29, 2023 I let Stephen now that I would like to cancel the membership as my flight to Northern California (where there is no LA fitness near me) was on December 3rd. This is where Stephen revealed his true form. His tone changed and he added a stipulation that they may not cancel if there is an LA fitness near me (There isn't). So I went to the Wells Fargo to get a bank statement so that I could have him put it on my file, but I began to immediately feel bamboozled. This man definitely lied to me to get me to sign up for the program. Which is going to automatically withdraw money from my account every month for 6 months. I know I shouldn't trust these people, and now I am telling you so you don't. I called their customer service management line and the person told me that they do not have a policy where they cancel due to relocation. This was completely made up. It has now been 2 weeks and I can not get a service member on the phone and Stephen is dodging me. Looks like I was just a part of his quota! To do this to someone during the holidays is messed up and will skew my thoughts as I should be able to leave this contract. But NO I am just another story of a poor sap who was taken advantage of. I will proceed to leave this review wherever I can to warn people to NOT TRUST OR EVEN TALK TO THE MANAGERS AT THIS LOCATION. Good equipment and facility. Terrible people. read more

I joined this gym over a year ago. I really like that they have newer equipment, locker rooms, and a lap pool. The cleaning crew keeps the place nice and clean. However, lately there have been issues and I am wondering if I want to continue my membership there. They close the facility at Whitemarsh, so it is more crowded. I believe they only added one new class and it doesn't start until 9:45 AM in the morning. The day is half over by then! There are not a lot of of morning class options during the week. The one 830 class that I do attend in the studio is great, especially if you like hot Zumba. By hot I mean the classroom temperature is 75°F. We tried to say something to the front desk, they say that corporate controls the temperature and they can't do anything about it. Friday there were no wipes to wipe down the machines, and no paper towels in the ladies room. When I said something to the manager, I was told that there was nothing they can do about it until the shipment came in at 11 o'clock that morning. To me this is unacceptable and unsanitary. I am hoping that they get their act together soon. At this point, I can't say that I would recommend joining this gym. Hopefully things will turn around. read more

I've been a member for quite some time but like many others I have not used my membership as often as I should have. That is, until September 5, 2023. After years of yo-yo dieting and works outs here and there, I was determined to really change myself. I called the new location of LA Fitness in Nottingham and made an appointment to see Stephen. I showed up and ended up signing on for a 12 month training program. I needed this more than I realized and when I was assigned my trainer, Isiah, it was the best thing I could have done for myself in a long time. I've been working with Isiah for a year and a half now and don't plan to stop training any time soon. I absolutely have changed my mind set and my body. I still have a ways to go, but I have made progress. Loosing weight and building muscle and getting stronger at the age of 65 is possible! It is absolutely a necessity to LIVE! Working out at LA Fitness is one of my most favorite things to do now. I have been consistent with my workouts. Yes, it is 100% true--consistency is everything and you are never too old. I have Isiah to thank for working with me and encouraging me during work outs. He is the real deal. He is knowledgeable and genuinely interested in your well-being to help you reach your goals and potential. I have learned a lot from him and appreciate his dedication to health and fitness. I am truly blessed to have Isiah as my trainer here at LA Fitness. Here's to more training with the BEST! read more

Joined this gym in October 2023 and was offered a "free" personal training session. I arrived happy for my free personal training session. Stephen gave a sales talk on personal training then gave me fitness tests. After that he took me back to the desks and gave me the bad news - I am out of shape. Duh! That's why I joined the gym. Then he proposed that I sign up for personal training at 60 dollars an hour three times a week. When I told him no way was that in my budget. He told me to cut back on my expenses- maybe cut back on take out meals. Never was that mentioned in our earlier discussion nor did I share that eating out frequently was a habit. He assumed. I was not pleased. I advised that I was really looking for a simple routine of exercise and the pool would be best for my joints. Stephen essentially told me that cardio was worthless and would not meet my weight loss goals. I did not share weight loss goals. I shared health goals. Pain relief, stamina and mobility are my health goals. I could stand to lose weight but that is not the big focus. He brought that up multiple times. Not only was he a poor listener but obviously felt like I needed to lose weight and that met his agenda for recruiting personal trainer clients. It was a terrible experience and it put me off that location. Another thing is that the pool is frequently cold and there is no hot tub or sauna to warm up in. read more
