Rust in each opening and on the pin. Handle of pin decaying and filthy. Thick gunck on top of plates.

I have never been in any establishment this horrific. I am in town seeing family and figured I would use my LA Fitness membership from my home base in NJ. Wasn't sure my app would work but no worries there was not a staff member in sight as I entered. It's SO disgustingly filthy- it realy should be closed by the Dept of Health. The machines are filthy and rusty. Pins and handles are dirty, decaying and in some cases missing entirely. The floor is an OLD rug- do you have any idea how much dirt must be in that tattered filthy thing?! There are major rips in the rug- it was worn out 20 years ago! Minimal AC. From what I have read I am glad I avoided the locker rooms and water fountain- the vending machine was empty so I guess bring your own but I would not put anything of my own down on the filthy surfaces. On the way out- no staff. In constrast my home base LA Fitness is immaculate. There is a full time cleaner in constant motion wiping vacuming and scrubing. The staff greet you cheerfully, wishing you a good workout and say goodbye wishing you a good day. The equipment looks brand new (NO RUST!-EW!!) and no dust- let alone the thick grime on everything here. It's bright and cheerful with good AC and a modern composite floor surface that does not accumulate grime. There are handsanitizer stations every 50 feet along all walls and bottles of cleaner and paper toels eveywhere- none of either were evident here. The vending machine is always well stocked with cold water and various protein shakes etc. The lockers, bathrooms and water fountains are always perfectly cleaned. I do not understand how a place as disgusting as this can exist. I cannot imagine how the same company runs both places. Is there no standard required to use the LA Fitness name? Felt like I needed 3 showers when I got back to my hotel room.

Rust from the trap bar. This place is falling apart and they don't care.

I've been going to this gym for years and it has gone drastically downhill. There are several extremely rude employees. They yell at people for not wearing masks within 3 feet of them. Today I saw the same employee with his feet up at his desk talking on the phone with his mask on his chin not covering his nose or mouth. They are also selective with who they enforce this rule. The equipment is also in terrible shape. Everything is covered in rust. There seems to be no air conditioning as it feels to be about 80 degrees inside. 3/4 of the treadmill screens don't work. I don't know who runs this place but they need fired.

Five outta Seven sinks are broken.

Has all the equipment necessary, with an ample locker room and showers. The carpet is somewhat dated, but the facility is kept very clean.

Reopen the swimming pool. Only gave a week notice before closing it. Unacceptable. The management did not care.

Place is not clean. Men's room has busted locker doors. Giant pothole outside at the entrance and they don't care about anything.

Crunch couldn't do so in time because no one would respond to me in a timely manner/was not available. After 14 days, Jordan emailed me (since no one picks up the dang phone from corporate) and said they had to charge me for the $29.99 a month and then freeze immediately (so I pay for a month I can't use). This ticked me off, and I wanted to cancel instead. Jordan said they have to charge me another $29.99 to "reactivate" my membership to cancel. No refunds for last month that THEY couldn't cancel in time, no refunds for the $29.99 cancellation. I was NEVER told there would be a cancellation fee, nor should there be. Anywhere else I've had memberships to where my account has been frozen have been able to cancel for no fees. I asked for a higher manager and was told "I cannot give that information." I was told I would do a chargeback and was told "then we will reactivate your membership and fees." What kind of business is this?! It's a fraudulent, scummy business that I have told everyone I know not to go to. I went to unfreeze my membership to cancel it for good two months ago, and the person at the front desk told me it was already cancelled. Bizarre. I tried ClassPass and it's much better!

I signed up for two classes through the ClassPass app while I was in town. The first was a Restore class with Wendy, which I loved. Wendy is a great instructor and had a great playlist. She's kind and encouraging in a calm and friendly way that motivates me more than being shouted at throughout class. The Restore class was a solid block of rowing for the first half of class and then strength and stretching on the mat for the second half. Unlike other classes, you don't use the monitors to view your stats and row more on feel, which I liked. The second class I attended was Signature with Joy. Joy is positive and upbeat, and her enthusiasm makes class enjoyable. For this class format we had three sets of rowing and two sets of strength on the mat, and used the monitors to track our stats throughout some sprints and power intervals. I really enjoyed both classes, and wish there was a Row House studio near where I live for me to attend regularly. The studio is inside The Block section of the Northway Mall, and there's plenty of parking. The studio is clean and bright and has self-locking lockers, a restroom, water bottle refill station, and branded merchandise for sale. The rowers and all other equipment are in excellent condition, and there are more than enough weights of each heaviness to go around. They provide the mats for the floor exercise portions. Everyone I met there was friendly and welcoming from the front desk to the instructors to the other people in class. It seems like they have a lot of regulars, and several people were doubling up on classes the days I was there, which speaks well of the studio in my book.

Upon entering my first day, I was greeted and prompted to get all sign information completed. It was a quick process. They are also taking great precautionary measures due to covid-19. Class attendance has been reduced, the row room is cleaned thoroughly between each class, lockers and water fountain are not available for use. I was able to take 2 classes during my 7 day trial. Joy and Justin were both helpful and informative. Justin took time after the class to chat and be encouraging. They remembered my name the second time I came in and asked how I liked the first class - so customer service is on point! Although no one ever tried to sell me a package which I didn't mind because I already knew it wasn't my type of work out long term. The foundation class is 100% the class to start in if you have not rowed before. Form is so important and not having rowed before, I never realized there is a technique to it. I enjoyed the floor work outs between row sets. Justin's floor workouts during the foundation class were my favorite. I recommend taking advantage of their free trial and exploring classes before committing. They really are fun, just not my style of work out for a long term commitment.

With my busy schedule, I've found myself forgetting to eat,…read morenot making the time (or losing track of time) to eat, and then gorging myself during dinner. This resulted in a physique that didn't improve with my normal workouts. My poor eating habits stemmed from a lack of structure and a lack of guidance. I knew this, but I didn't know HOW to do better. So, I reached out to Kelly because I realized I needed to make a shift. I honestly had no idea what I was in store for. I had joined a recipe challenge with Kelly in the past, so I assumed some great recipes and meal prepping would be the answer. HAH! That was not the case and, had that been all I received, it would have only been a temporary solution for me, personally, because I lacked some fundamentals that will carry me confidently into the rest of my life. Kelly spent so much time with me (online/phone) to learn about my current situation (body weight, measurements, daily eating routine, types of food I like, etc.). Soon, I received a weekly list of meals and ingredients that correlate to my personal taste. I also received alternative foods and suggestions. Kelly explained exactly how many calories, fat, carbs, and protein I needed to transform by body to what I was looking to achieve. I'm going to be 100% honest: I thought, "Is this one more thing I need to manage? I don't have time for this..." When I discovered that I would have to actually learn and integrate something new into my life, I was instantly resistant, but Kelly calmed me down and assured me I could handle it. She was right and I realized that becoming more aware of how often I eat and what I put in my body was necessary and NOT a big deal. It just became part of my routine...it became second nature...easy breezy!! By the way, I have not felt any "lack" - I love the food I eat, and I do not feel deprived at all. Kelly REALLY helped pave the path for a lifetime of good choices. I feel good and I am confident in my body! Thank you Kelly!!! P.S. This process was all done virtually! This can be done from anywhere! My transformation was visible in 30 days and exceeded my expectations at the 3 month mark.
