Joined today after did a trial here and several other gyms at different price points, but this gym honestly had everything I needed. The negatives reviews I read I didn't see. It's clean, and was able to workout easily. The overcrowding there is a lot of people but gym big and I only waited once. They also have the only women area the best. The jacuzzi had seen posting not working it is people were in there. Next weekend plan to take advantage of sauna and jacuzzi and yoga class happy with my choice. read more

The staff treats you badly, they don't know how to talk to the public, they offer a day to try the gym and they don't let you in, I moved to this area two days ago and because I'm not from here they didn't let me in, I think there are better clubs with better attention and professionalism, don't waste your time coming to a gym where they don't give priority to the client read more

I've been coming here since December and I've got to say, if you have the option to explore other LA fitness near by, take it. It's over crowded and a good amount of treadmills are never operational. Now, if you have no choice, or transportation is limited (like it is for many folks that come here) then by all means go for it. This place is amazing ! They invested so much into this look/design. Also , not to mention new machines , better layouts, and better air quality! I see they added new huge neon like sign so you can see it coming from the direction of Harmon Meadow Plaza ! The flow is so much better from when you enter ( upper body and lower body machines ) to the lift room to the new locker rooms! The new black workout mat is sleek , sexy and well placed! The wall to wall mirrored dumbbells is a plentiful addition and well respected! The new wall graphics are sick especially the mirrored ones! New signage when you enter the workout rooms ( Aerobics , Lift )! I love the new no gym bags on the floor policy ! Now there are many more benches in the weight room more cable machines and multiple upper body machines! This place is sick and futuristic! Good Job guys! I usually don't give one star to bussines but my friend.. You should stay away from LA Fitness secaucus location, machines are broken and wait for maintenance like 4 months or more.. Air ventilation is horrible, you can bearly breath, stuff doenst even do cleaning they only wipe the towel they have everywhere... Oh btw! If you wanna cancel your membership in person you have to be there weekdays between 10 am - 4 pm otherwise you need to mail cancelation form to their main facility.. Firstly even during off peak hours, everyone here hoards weights and they are never where they belong , even if they are racked, they have 100lb dumbbells in the 5 lb slot. I've been waiting 30 mins for ONE 20lb dumbbell . I'm watching someone do 16 different workouts with 10 weights of all different sizes. Ever heard of sharing ? I've never seen an employee walking around reracking weights or putting things back in place if they're left out. I only ever seen them giving a tour or taking out the trash. I used to be a member at this gym prior to moving out of state. While visiting family, I decided to get a day pass. At first I was hesitant after reading the reviews on Yelp, but given the convenience of being in town, I bit the bullet and went. The front desk rep was nice, but as I walked upstairs to the cardio equipment, it got significantly warmer, like the AC wasn't working. The equipment didn't look clean, there were empty water bottles in the cup holders, and used crumpled up tissues in the other cup holders. Mind you, this was at 7-7:30am. Can you imagine what it looks like towards the end of the day?! I was literally in there for 45 minutes and just felt dirty. I left. So I paid $20 for 45 min. Party foul for my decision. Also, while I was walking out, there was trash on the floor in the main walkway, going to and from the front desk to the locker rooms. How does a LA Fitness employee see this and NOT pick it up? The only reason I'm not giving this gym 1 star is because they have a wide range of equipment. Other than that, it's a total disaster. Machines are always broken, half of the treadmills are out of commission, it's absolutely filthy, and during peak hours it's more crowded than a subway car. Not only is there terrible customer service but weights left all over the floor and staff that starts cleaning the machine with a dirty sponge leaving the equipment and area soaking wet WHILE you're using the equipment. I was using the squat rack for a deadlifts as a cleaning staff while on his phone, half paying attention and half ass cleaning in the machines starts cleaning it being in the way, so I cannot utilize the machine or even lift up the bar to do a squat took 10 minutes to wipe down, the rack, which was the equivalent of him wiping four bars with a dirty sponge. Not only that but when I couldn't find any weight clips for the bar, see picture below... I went to the front desk to ask if they had any because some locations keep them behind the desk and the two women (one who was pregnant & the Dominican manager jasmine) Had me pay $20 to work out told me that there was none in the gym at all. They did not exist within the gym. half an hour into my workout I noticed a pair hanging from another squat rack and used them, no thanks or assistance from the rude and lazy staff here, WORST PART ABOUT IT, when I finish my workout and I go to the front desk about the issue, I ask for the manager, and the person at the desk informs me that she was just here and the same woman who told me there was no weight clips. (Jasmine the manager)So not only is the staff food negligent and lazy but the man manager is the one setting the tone. By far the worse experience with this gym. It's dirty, nothing is organized, the people are rude, half of the machines are broken throughout the year, and it's crowded. If you go in the AM weights are everywhere, if you go in the PM, again, weights are everywhere. What is the staff doing? There are no sprays nor paper towels to wipe down equipment. Half of the time the water fountains are busted, most of the time the gym is silent as in the workers don't even bother to turn on the audio system, hot water goes out regularly. Not to mention the bathrooms and showers are extremely filthy, I shower I wipe down my shower slides and the rag I use to wipe them down is black every single time. It's not looking good for this gym, it shouldn't be a signature since it cannot compete with other signature locations. read more

This gym specifically has the worst employee attitude. I've been to 3 other LA fitness around me, by far the one in Lodi has great people overall. Today I canceled my membership because of the attitude most of these team members have. I spoke to Jessica the person in charge of canceling, extremely rude did not even introduce her self. We don't go to a gym to be treated with attitude. There are plenty of gyms with great staff that treat members with respect. Join Lodi or Clifton because this Secaucus location is just awful. I am from out of town and recently got a job in Bloomfield, NJ. I'm looking for a place to stay 1-2x per month and decided to try out a hotel adjacent to this LA Fitness club. I applied for a 3-day pass to check the club out as there is an LA fitness near my home out of state as well. Historically i have a lot of experience with big gyms, having been a member at both Bally and 24 hour fitness. I let my big gym membership go during the pandemic. This gym was very disappointing. I am a long distance runner but could only manage 2 miles on the treadmill here as it had to have been over 80 degrees in the cardio area. I run in 80 degree weather all the time, but its not enjoyable....its gross. The equipment was also surprisingly dirty - maybe due to the excessive sweating due to the heat? I was not offered a towel upon entering and there were no towels in the locker room. Also no paper towels to dry your hands. I just felt....gross....after working out here. Its a shame because I was looking for something other than the hotel gym. read more

I was really disappointed at how dirty and poorly maintained this gym was. I'd worked out here five years before while on vacation and it was much better then. I've never seen an LA Fitness in this bad shape. So much of the equipment, including in the bathroom, wasn't working. Weights and bars were thrown all over the place with no order. The lady at the juice bar was very rude and didn't seem to know how to operate the register. The plus side is that it is big and with a lot of equipment, so if you can look past the filth and negligence, you can get a good workout. Have been a member for 10 years on and off, and since the start much has changed, the gym has even gone through multiple renovations which they added numerous amenities to compliment its size. The gym gets busy on weeknights, and from time to time some of the equipment shuts down or needs to be serviced. read more

I've moved around and been to la fitness in Texas also in Union nj and then the seacaucus one. This is a really bad location. It's muggy in there, I think ac is not working and the fans are tinny. Not only that, it's packed in the afternoon even at 9pm, there are no dumbbells anywhere and the staff is not putting them back on the racks during the day. I used to go to this gym a few years ago and decided to sign up again since I moved back to the area. The gym overall has declined severely. The equipment has never been updated, maybe not even cleaned, the weights in the classes are super old, the mats are broken and have been used for so long they're literally stiff from the sweat. This gym is supposed to be a "signature" LAF but there's really nothing special about it except you get towels to use. Overall the gym could use an overhaul. LA Fitness corporate does not adhere to the contract they make you sign. STAY AWAY FROM personal training contracts! The contract I signed was for a "Master" trainer. They brought in a supervisor master trainer to get us to sign up and then she disappeared! Complaints to the facility (Paramus, NJ location) and to corporate basically told me that the contract has so much wording on their end, that nothing is really promised - except my promise to pay! The only reason why it gets a 2 star is because of the people I've met here and the night staff. But the staff in the morning/afternoon are rude. Their is this older lady, Hispanic that treats the young teens like garbage by giving them attitude and being rude in general. The weights are always hard to find and the machines are broken. The most disgusting thing is the bathroom, there so dirty and there's always one or more stalls broken. They need to fire some people and fix the machines so more people can keep coming in. This is a signature club location. You'd think that cleanliness would be priority given the amount of people that pass through daily and covid of course. The base of the machines are alway filthy. The trash cans always full. At one point all hand wash stations had no soap. Seriously?!?! No soap during a pandemic in over 10 sinks? There is also no towel service. Ok so I deff want to make it clear that I did have and finish my work out before I start this review. So this LA Fitness is pretty close to my house so I decided to go for a day cuz I been going to the same gym Recently and I wanted a change of scenery, I like the fact they didn't charge me to work out when I lived in the BX they didn't even let my cousin do a day pass cuz she didn't have a Nyc ID crazy right! This gym was super messy! I couldn't find anything! I needed and nothing was racked back in place so there was dumbbells everywhere, the ppl that go there are all about 18-21 year olds and they seem to not know what their doing so it could explain for the mess. No trainers walking around for motivation or to even pick up clients or make sure equipment is being handled correctly. Very sad to see such a big facility be ran the way it was. The lady who helped me when I got there didn't even try to sell me a member ship which I was totally willing to get one since its near my home but it's ok I didn't really like the energy in there anyways read more
