Missed one payment due to falling on hard times, called the gym to address the situation head on and inform them I'd be resuming payments the follow week once I was paid. The following day was when the harassment started. I received four calls in the span of five days, one of which was from the actual gym location I go to. All calls were from different people claiming I never called, my account had no notes and that I had a balance. Additionally I had a poor experience with one of the managers named Gabbie. Was told I was going in loops when describing my frustration, spoke over me throughout most of the call which made it difficult to get to an understanding, could not remember my name and was told that I was one of 2,000 people so that she was incapable of remembering my name. Aside from that, I was misgendered when addressed on the phone but at that point I was already checked out and decided to cancel my membership. There is more I could say but again at that point my decision was made Unfortunately once I arrived at the gym to cancel the membership I was told by a different manager that I could not do that being that there was an outstanding balance, despite what Gabbie said. This review is long overdue and well deserved! When I moved to the area, I was looking for a gym nearby with a trainer. Before joining LA Fitness, I was used to group HIIT classes. However, after bariatric surgery, those classes no longer supported my health and fitness goals. The inflammation in my body was too much and was counteracting my hard work. As a woman entering peri-menopause, I knew I needed to learn strength training, proper form, mind-muscle connection, and how to use machines I wasn't familiar with. After joining LA Fitness, you receive a free consultation/assessment. Mary was fantastic during this process--she took the time to understand my capabilities, goals, and needs. After the assessment, she paired me with Jimmy B! Initially, I was overwhelmed by the idea of creating the "perfect workout." I didn't know how to choose which muscle groups to work or when. Jimmy simplified everything and made it easy to learn. I also appreciated how relatable he was--just because he's a trainer doesn't mean he hasn't had his own journey. It's encouraging to know we all start somewhere, regardless of skill level. Each workout was recorded in a book, creating my own personalized program that I could reference anytime. Jimmy explained every movement, what muscles I was working, and why proper form matters. No question was ever "stupid." He was patient and made sure I truly understood. He pushed me past my limits, kept me out of my comfort zone (in the best way), and helped me grow--both mentally and physically. By the end of my sessions, I was a new woman! I gained confidence, self-love, and the discipline to work out on my own without relying on group classes. While I no longer train with Jimmy due to budget, if you can make it work, I HIGHLY recommend investing in yourself and your health. With his incredible coaching, I've watched my body transform dramatically--from obese to overweight, to average, and now to fit, toned, strong, and healthy! For the first time in my life, I can actually feel core strength and abs (even if I can't fully see them yet). Body dysmorphia is real, especially after major transformations, but Jimmy's program helped me mentally too--I can now see the results of my hard work in my body's cuts and striations. My experience with La Fitness was always pleasant. Until one day I wanted to freeze my son's membership, and the agent who helped me asked if I was the one in the photo and what had happened to me. I am a mother of three children; we don't always have time to really take care of ourselves. When I opened my membership, we were just starting the COVID pandemic, and of course, I could take care of myself then because I wasn't working. I drive 1 hour and 10 minutes to my job, which is incredibly difficult, and for someone from the La Fitness staff to come and insult me ​​like that... wow! So unprofessional. However, I have been paying for my membership the whole time, even though I don't use it as much as before. I did find it to be a great lack of respect. read more

About a month ago, a zumba instructor threatened to PUNCH ME IN THE FACE over her issue of me, using light weights, which I am allowed to do, in a zumba class that she subbed. Her buddy this summer bullied, harassed and embarrassed me in front of a zumba class, in the brick facility, over the same matter. The rest of the club runs well, it is clean, the front staff is helpful, professional and work well with the public. All of the other instructors, that I know, are excellent and it is a pleasure to attend their classes. I have been in gyms for 45 years and have never experienced such low thinking, ignorant unprofessional so called instructors, as these two. It is more than dancing to be a proper instructor. Internal management at LA Fitness has done nothing to correct the problems. These two are still teaching, and nothing has been done to rectify the problem. read more

Gabrielle the member services manager was helpful and welcoming. She takes pride in providing quality care for all gym members. She goes out of her way to ensure all members are satisfied with this establishment. In short she is the best. I recently attended the Bricktown LA Fitness Wednesday Dec 12th and was appalled at finding a cleaning woman in the men's locker room with men in all forms of dress.I asked her if she was suppose to be there.I asked for the Manager and spoke to him about this and I stated this was wrong.I was then told I was gender sexist and how did I know if the woman wasn't a man.I felt sorry for the woman who has do do this.How would you like your sister or wife doing this.My membership is coming up I'm March and that will end my membership at LA Fitness. read more

Semi new gym but it is not maintained which is a shame. I dont know how people can say it's clean when I look at the same sweat drips on the stair climber and paper towels in the cup holders day after day. There is dirt and crumbs in the corners and under the machines. The culture of clients is dirty also as I rarely see anyone wipe down a treadmill after using it. I have yet to see any employee walking around cleaning anything. They still havent opened the pilates studio. Not work the $50/month in my opinion. read more

The managerial staff is nice & welcoming. The front desk could be hit or miss. I get it. For me, knowing that gym goers are authorized to be there v. walking past the desk w/out checking-in is more important to me than a hello. The facility has excellent diversity in available weights & machines, as well as places to go to train alone or in a group. There is a focus on consistent cleanliness. Managing a facility of this size, attendees, employees, safety, cleanliness, and satisfying everyone, will always be a challenge. You're doing a nice job. read more

This place is budget. Every treadmill is broken. The Pilates studio has yet to open since 2020.

Don't trust them. They will say anything to sign you up and then you are locked in a contract. James there rep will lie and say anything to close a sale. They are evil people willing to lie and cheat people out of money. stay away you have been warned. read more

I do like this gym, just wish there was a sauna - I tend to go to the LA in Brick when I can because they have one.

Great gym but lacks repairs. Locker doors missing, some ripped in half and the urinal not working for at least 2 months.

This gym is very big with a pool, area of turf to do multiple things, big space with treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, etc and lots of room for the lifting equipment. Great gym read more

I went in with a free week pass I got a starbucks and of course they sucked me in to possibly signing up during their grand opening. Well I had some things come up and I could no longer go through with sign up. I called prior to the grand opening and told them. Well after the grand opening they called me and said my card wasn't working. So I called them and explained I had already talked to someone. THIS HAPPENED 5 MORE TIMES. Finally I spoke to a woman who saw the big picture and was honest about how the reps care about who sells packages and who doesn't. (Funny how it took me talking to a woman to get some clarity of the situation). All was fine up until I got another call from the sales rep who originally signed me up for the packed. Asking how I was doing. What bothers me is all they care about is fighting over clients to sell to instead of the fact that I am receiving a phone call every single day. It's harassment !! I had to block their number because I couldn't take it anymore. They need to care more about the people on the other end of the phone instead of the money in their pockets. read more
