I like this LA Fitness location and the gym equipment is good. One suggestion that would really help is adding a full-length mirror in the women's locker room. Some other LA Fitness locations have long mirrors, and it's very helpful when getting dressed or checking workout clothes. I hope the gym considers adding one. read more

If there was a place to post pictures, I would. This place is a pig sty, and that's really a disservice to pigs. Equipment is outdated, carpet on the floor is original (Maybe 20 years old?) This morning at 7 AM trash cans in Men's locker room were spilling over. Paper towels strewn around shower area, dirty clothes left on the floor under sink and in shower area. Pool and hot tub recently opened, been shut down since COVID. The only redeeming feature in this club is the racquetball courts, and they are typically covered with shoe marks and dust bunnies. Finally cancelled my membership today after 4 years. I can no longer justify $60 a month for such a horribly unmaintained gym. Everyday I came in I would dread the sauna being out of order (which seemed like it was out of order about 50% of the time lately). Multiple machines out of order for months on end. One machine they decided to take out completely so now theres just a spot on the nasty carpet where it used to be. Locker rooms and bathrooms smell horrendous with the garbage cans full to the brim of paper towels. Sanitary wipe dispensers are ALWAYS empty. Speaking of towels, been paying for a "towel service" that hasnt been available in years. Staff at entrance stay on their phones with their feet kicked up not caring at all. This gym is clean, machines are pretty up to date, the lay out is spacious, and I love having cardio upstairs, weights downstairs. My only complaint is the staff. I don't expect them to be super chatty, esp. when most of the time I'm just signing in or walking out (ive done customer service and don't expect them to take on meaningless tasks if there's no need), but they don't even acknowledge you most of the time. A greeting or even a smile is welcoming, or even a "have a good night," or whatever. They just don't even look at you or look up. read more

went here with a friend to try this gym and it's terrible. it's so hot and stuffy, the cardio machines are confusing and pause your workout even if you select manual and they beep constantly. very limited cardio machines and also weirdly expensive for how little they are open. machines don't have tvs like planet fitness does and no fans anywhere so it gets hot and muggy quick. the only benefit is the pool and hot tub but ask yourself, is that worth it? read more

The pool hasn't been available since approx December, and the jacuzzi months prior to that. I brought my mom to swim as my guest. She pointed out a turd in the pool by the steps. I only joined LA Fitness to swim, and jacuzzi. What a huge disappointment. I dropped my membership due to this obviously. Now they don't want to refund my money for services paid- not provided. They have since removed the pool and jacuzzi amenities from their website claiming they don't offer those as amenities now. That doesn't mean they didn't offer them when I joined..which they did. Well, here we are. Almost 2 years in the pandemic and this gym does not seem to care or notice. Of course they have the "wear your mask" signs up but NO one enforces it which leads to half the gym being infested by the plague rats. (Non-mask wearing folk) I can count on one hand, during this pandemic, how many times I have seen someone without a mask shopping at a grocery store like Fred Myers or Trader Joe's. Why is that you might ask? Well it's because they care beyond the liability of being sued for non-compliance. If you get caught without a mask in those grocery stores they just throw you out! Not here, those plague rats that get kicked out of respectable establishments congregate here at this very gym. It's like watching little children when the adults turn their back and the kids try to get away with all the things they know they shouldn't do....except these are grown adults making decisions that will negatively affect those around them and this business condones that behavior! I have decided to stop going at this point because I don't want to risk getting sick myself or those around me. If this gym actually cared and had an ounce of morality/ethics they would simply enforce safety protocols. My issue is both pools and hot tubs have been closed for over a year in Orchards and close to six months in Hazeldel. The corporate individuals are only interested in your $$ and not in providing what their club advertises. So there isn't much to say here. I had a membership here for 8 months. I just cancelled it because they changed there closing hours from 12am to 11pm. Before that change this place was perfect as I work swing shift and swing in on my way home from work and get my cardio and weight training in. They charge a little more than the average gym. About $30 after taxes. I'm just rounding up too it is lower than $30. The gym itself is always clean and well maintained. It doesn't have that sour gym smell that I have encountered at other places. The equipment works great. When they did have a breakdown. It was only down a little while before being fixed. The staff are helpful. The trainers are knowledgeable. The customer service is great in general. This location has a pool, sauna, hot tub, basketball court, and racket ball courts. I never used these amenities, but knowing I had access made me feel like my membership cost was worth it. The clientele are considerate and cleanly. Honestly if they hadn't changed their hours I would still be a member. read more

The pool at this gym has been closed for about a month now and I haven't heard anything about the situation being dealt with in fact I have noticed less people coming to the gym and one of the trainers doesn't work there anymore so I think something shady is going on with this gym and they are within a mile of a YMCA that does have a pool that works and similar amenities so I wouldn't be surprised if people are going there instead read more

I am a long time member and within the last three months the service went bad to non existent. This is the fourth time that members were standing in front of closed doors on the weekend. Nobody showed up to open or have no key to get in. On top of that, when you come in the employees are either sitting on their phones and don't bother to even say hello. Or they have their back turned to the door and are talking with each other, not saying hello or acknowledging a customer. Don't get me started on the cleanliness. My rating is based solely on my personal trainer, Jennifer P. She is amazing. I have had gym memberships in the past where I never even walked into the gym. I decide to try working with a personal trainer this time to see if I would be more successful with my fitness goals. I have been working with Jennifer since February and not only have I achieved the goals started with but I have far surpassed them. Jennifer makes working out fun and she really cares about my success and safety. I have learned so much working with her and am always so surprised at what my body can do. These guys are a pretty good gym. Ismael is a great operations manager - and he has really nice staff. They were extremely helpful when resolving account issues. When I signed up, they waived the initiation fee because I used to be an employee at the Hazel Dell location and regular here at 4th Plain. (Usually very much $$!). It can get a little busy which is why I cancelled, they allow guest passes which is understandable why. When I cancelled recently, the charge went through still (just gym technicalities), but they actually refunded me which I did not expect at all! It really helps to be a regular. So unfortunate. I was ready to become a LA Fitness member after moving in from Oregon and trying the free guest pass. Of the few days I went, the gym was pretty much everything I needed for myself and boyfriend. The machines were plentiful and the weight lifting was decent. For him, the indoor basketball court would've been suffice. The people and atmosphere was okay for me, too. However, as my guest pass was nearing expiration, I went out of state for vacation. The very first day at the end of my pass, Chris called and asked me about becoming a member. I told him that my boyfriend and I were most likely going to become members as soon as I get back from my vacation and as we both arrive after helping him move. Chris acknowledged it and we said our byes. The next day, Chris calls again to ask the SAME EXACT THING. I say, you called me yesterday and he said because he forgot to make notes in his system. The next day, Chris calls again. At this point, I was so frustrated. Goodbye. I don't understand how badly their sales representatives can fail. I was 90% certain I was going to become a member, but because of this pestering, you just lost two loyal members. read more

I have been coming here for ten years now so I feel like I can give a pretty solid review. I have tried 24 hour, Golds, Crunch and Green Meadows as a guest and always have preferred LA. The number one reason for my return is hands down Hillary in Kids Club. We have four kids and they LOVE going to the gym, which definitely pushes me to go more often. :) She is patient with the kids, and I genuinely likes kids. Big kudos to her. The number two reason would be the classes. They have a decent variety (though I wish they had more Yoga) and most of the instructors are very relational. They want you to come back, so there is no Jillian Michaels type instructing (with the exception of one instructor named May, so I just steer clear). Each instructor teaches a little differently, so that makes it more interesting. Sheree, Edward, Rebecca, Tina, Shay and Susanna are all exceptional. The gym is clean, and it has a nice pool with hot tub. My older son also plays basketball here, and sometimes we play racquetball. The meat heads are minimal. read more

Unfortunately, I have to agree with a lot of the criticism concerning the staffs, trainers and cancellation procedures. Trainers do seem to come and go on a regular basis. The reason for four stars is that I just go in and work out. Great facilities, excellent equipment, and cleaner and most gyms. There is always open equipment most of the day and it's maintained well. There are multiple machines to work specific body parts, many cardio machines and a rather extensive free weight section. read more
