So we came here for the kids swim lessons, my older one took lap swim classes and enjoyed it. She especially enjoyed the lap swim/ free swim time. We homeschooled during this season and that worked very well for her to do laps, while I took the smaller ones to the open swim. Most of the staff were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately we came across some interesting characters who both were guests and some staff. I would say overall we enjoyed our time here, but I don't know if we would rejoin. read more

Racist environment! They don't respect Hispanic dancers!! Managers are unable to equitably mitigate scheduling errors and will opt to let the white group stay and let Hispanic dancer leaves in tears. They also allow group leaders to treat paying members in a rude faction sort of like they are entitled. Also, when you point out on the phone that they mishandled the scheduling error, and you make the comment so much for equity and inclusion they hang up on you. Isn't that just how it is when you point out the inequity, they shut you down. So much for fairness and justice for the individual. read more

I am so disappointment in the clark county YWCA. Survivor of domestic abuse they kick them it with no where to go! She expressed that I am her caregiver gave permission verbally and signed ROIs. They would not get back to me for ever, I had to call the main office. When they did, there were more things to sign, then she was told we would revisit the safety meeting Aug 18, then she was told the fallowing Thursday she had to be out that's tomorrow! She is not assertive, she doesn't speak up, she is scared and overwhelmed (which is why you needed to work with me). She is quiet and respects everyone, she cleans up after herself and others! Why is this an OK thing to do? Shame on you YWCA!! If you're resident has a caregiver you need to work with that person. Shame on you!! You have been more of a hindrance than help, she was given a list of not local apartments, offered to pay her 1st month, she has no income. Shame On you!! For causing her more anxiety and stress than she already had. Shame on you! I deeply love those I provide care for! I feel this is unacceptable. read more

Great pool...when it's not closed for maintenance. Thats all the good I can say. Now for the bad. Pool was constantly closing for maintenance. Locker rooms are so tight and cramped that you are literally cheek to cheek with your neighbor while changing clothes. The parking lot does not feel safe, especially in the darker winter months. Monthly prices continued to increase. We ended up canceling our membership and are now with a facility we are really happy with. We get a lot more for our money and are paying almost the same price elsewhere. Just the honest truth. read more

This YMCA is supposed to be a religious oriented facility, with a caring staff, but that's NOT the case here at this Vancouver facility. They continued to charge my account while they were closed during the covid restrictions. I called and spoke to demarie, or somethingike that, asking for a refund, but she was brutally rude and condescending... telling me she would NOT refund my money, then said she was going to cancel my membership and close the account... In other words, shut me up, and sweep this matter under the rug! I was appalled and how I was treated. I was a member for probably 10 years and this is how they treat their loyal customers.... The people who run it are fabulous but the kids are so out of control. A couple older ladies got jumped on . It was out of control their running doing cannonballs right.in front of the lifeguard I was talking to 6 ladies and they told me about touchmark assisted living. They have a pool and hot tub for seniors. I'm going to look into it ,you should too because the y accommodates everyone but the seniors . read more

Your site allows for non members to sign up as its us in the past but when you arrive your rude, unfriendly and unprofessional staff state "well sorry". I use the pool mainly but it's clean and staff is friendly, just wish you can make more than two appointments at once.

They make you pay for an all day pass if you don't have a membership which is $27.00 and that's a lot of money for about an hr swimming. Its from like 5:15 to 6:45 but you also have to answer 20 mins of questions. And poor(unfortunate) kids who's parents don't have that type of money like to go swimming to. The staff in aquatics are awesome but unfortunately the management is the worst YMCA in the country! They are always trying to run a scam. For example, my son was 12 and wants to run with me on their indoor track but wasn't allowed to use it unless we paid $200 and he would have to complete an "orientation" class that was 1 hour a week for 5 weeks. My son ran cross country at the time and didn't need any instructions on how to run. It didn't matter to this Y that he would be running with me and under my supervision. I offered to "donate" $200 to the Y but they assured me it wasn't about the money but rather safety?? Really?? I called over 10 different YMCA's across the country to see if any others had the same policy and not a single Y had this policy. Several that I talked with felt this policy was contrary to their mission. Apparently no one under 15 can safely run with a parent at this Y. We looked into taking their safety class but between swim practice, hockey practice, school work and cross country we didn't have the time. This Y lies about be being a family friendly facility and they lie about their mission statement. If you want anything more than a pool to swim to in do not come here! They are a major disappointment. read more

The elite basketball program is a joke and a complete waste of money. I can tell that a couple of the coaches really care so I couldn't just leave one star - but one of them is half asleep at every practice. Not cool. Not a good example for the kids. This is a practice where our children are learning things like structure and respect ... they can't even get a few of the boys to listen. The game schedules aren't available until 3-4 days before the games. It allows zero ways for parents to plan their lives and on top of that the schedule was not set in advance this round. Not even what day of the week! I ended up losing not just 8 hours at my job but 16 hours because they were Saturday games and then got moved to Sunday. Most of us have lives and jobs. Things should be scheduled in advance. That to me is a complete fail. It's not professional. I don't care if it's little kids...it could be done a lot better. My kids won't be returning. At almost $400 a round .... this is horrible and there's got to be better run programs than this. read more

I took a tour of this facility while I was looking for a swimming pool to join. It's very nice, and clean, however the swimming pool is essentially a wading pool. Since I was looking for a lap pool it obviously did not suit my needs. Still, it gets three stars for its friendly staff and reasonable facility. read more

I have been going here for a few days now. The staff I have talked to have all been very nice and helpful. The remodel of the basketball court has not interfered with the cardio or weight areas. I haven't had a chance to use the pool yet, but I am sure the 80 degree water will feel great when I get around to it. I have worked at YMCAs in the past so I always tend to go to them in whatever town I live in. This one is nice now, but will be extraordinarily nice when the remodel is finished. They charged us $89 for a family membership and told us we had to schedule the lap pool area. When we arrived at our scheduled time they were full and people were walking around without masks. Staff is great however the facility isn't really handicap accessible. They have one handicap stall in the changing room. They only have one changing room for men and women have to share,which makes it a little tight and no way we can keep 6 feet distance . I really love being able to get my client out to the pool but at the same time is it safe ? The one handicap stall is being used by people that are not handicapped. I said something to Matt and he basically said thats just how it is right now and that everyone has the right to use the handicapped stall. What about the right to a real handicapped person ? And why are men and women having to share space ? That's weird is it because you only want to sanitize one area? Another thing I dislike is that people are not wearing masks in changing areas. We really like the people there everyone is great but I have to put my client first and really think about this. I'm not sure what happened to Chris but he was so helpful and accommodating sure wish he was still there. read more

I come here as an out of town guest whenever I come to Vancouver. They are closed 27 Aug to 4 Sept for cleaning... so they only clean the facility once a year? I am in Vancouver for the week working, and wanted to get a few good workouts in. I was very pleased with the customer service I received at this location the staff offered to show me around and helped me with several machines that I was not used to working with. I belong to the YMCA in Puyallup wa and enjoy that one. This one has different cool toys to play with! I was very pleasantly surprised. TRX cables, boxing stands, heavy bags and much more. Never sign up for a membership here. They will not let you cancel and try to hold you hostage by trying to keep you as a member when you tell them to cancel. That is why they like to have you on automatic withdrawal that way they're in charge of when you cancel. We fell for it, and hope nobody else ever has to. read more

I've been a member for over 10 yrs and have always been happy with the facility and staff. Due to a recent change in what I'd call "direction", they decided to cancel the only 2 boot camp style classes that they offer. There was a fairly consistent group of around 15-25 members that attended the classes. We all were shocked that they'd drop a fairly popular class but after complaining and even signing a petition, the management cancelled both classes. I still attend the Y but am searching around for a new gym. They now have 12 Yoga and 11 Zumba but zero boot camp/HIIT classes so If Yoga or Zumba is your style then the Y is your place. read more

We love it. The child care is a god send. The staff is helpful and kind. The classes are fun. It never feels crowded. The pool is great.

We enroll our daughter in the swimming lessons here. The teachers are very friendly and manage to do a good job tending to all kids in the class. The locker rooms before and after swimming are always super crowded and the pool area can get really muggy, but the price is affordable for 8 weeks per class. Overall it is a pretty good deal, just be prepared to sweat while you watch your kid swim. read more

I've had a family membership here for about a year. There are some things I really like about this club and I have been going here 3 times a week with my son for the last 6 months. He's nine and they let him swim while I workout which is really nice. There are some things that are disappointing compared to other YMCA clubs I have visited. No towel service for one. There have been several issues here where they are very tenacious about the rules. Occasionally a smart person can see that a rule is less efficient or less safe than other actions. They don't tolerate discussing rules or compromising when your way is clearly better. They will even acknowledge that a rule is stupid but say it has to be followed because it's the rule. If you can't give me one single reason why the rule makes sense and you agree that the rule may be stupid then why do I have to follow it when I have a legitimate reason not to? Do you do the thing that is less convenient just because there's a rule that makes no sense? Do you do the thing that is less safe for your child just because a child 1/3 your age says it's a rule? Well you do if you want to be a member at this club. Oh yeah and the rules aren't consistent. Something doesn't matter one day and it's the end of the world the next. Frustrating. On Monday they are going to explain the reason for a couple of their rules to my satisfaction or I am going to drive 3x as far and pay 2x as much at Firstenburg. The rigid inflexibility and compliance based nonsense reeks of government. Update: Nevermind, the things that I like about the Y, Firtsenburg has better accommodations for all of them and it's $12/mo less for a family membership. read more

We LOVE the Y. They have everything our family could want, except a racquetball court. Dana is a fantastic swim instructor. He's taught our son SO much in a short period of time. And, my husband and I really enjoy Mary's morning fitness class. It's nice to have an affordable place to go as a family. read more

I am originally from Alaska and have had my children involved in the soccer and basketball programs. The whole concept of any sports program is to learn teamwork and fair play, and that was the way the program was run up there and the children learned how to play the sport they were enrolled in, and the officials the called the games called the games fairly without any favoritism. I have been in Vancouver now for 24 years and now have my Grandchildren in different sports. When my oldest grandson played soccer the officials were fair and called the game without any prejudice. In the last couple of years my grandsons have played in the basketball league almost every season it is on and the problem is that the coaches that they have played for have not taught the kids how to play the game and do not stress teamwork. The biggest problem though is the officiating which is in my opinion very bad as the refs show favoritism to certain teams and players and fail to call the games in a consistent manner. In the last 5 years I have recorded all the games that my grandsons have played in and the favoritism is pretty obvious to anyone who watches the games, this causes a lot of distrust of the officials by all of the players because they all know who the refs are going to call fouls on. This is not what the games are supposed to be about but until the people who run the the sports programs actually monitor the programs this will continue. read more

My child has been going here for swimming lessons for a few years now. We aren't members, so the swimming portion is the only thing I can comment on. While I like going there for swimming, I wish the online registration showed which teachers would be teaching which class. It seemed like each session, we were getting a new teacher, and it would have been nice to just stick to one teacher. However, that isn't even the reason that I only gave it 4 stars. I took one star away because I don't know what construction company in their right mind, would pick the flooring that they used in the locker rooms. So slippery! And hello......wet kids are coming in there all of the time! So be careful when you are walking in the women's/mens/family locker rooms....and they can be really slippery even if you are walking at a snails pace. One thing they could do to help with that, is put more of the rubber padding in the locker rooms (like in the women's, right in front of the sink area...as the tile is where it is slippery). I have seen several people slip in there, and it isn't pretty! read more
