Some good and some bad. I asked for a specialty cake that I saw online and was pleasantly surprised that they were able to do it with short notice - only 3 days. Other bakeries either couldn't do it at all or needed at least a week. They also did a great job. The cake looked exactly as it did in the photo! I did have 2 areas of disappointment. First, is customer service. Some of them really need to learn how to talk to customers and show respect. I was chastised by some guy because I forgot my copy of the receipt at home when I went to pick up the cake. I was scolded in front of others and told I was making them waste time and delaying them tending to other customers. Really? It took them 2 minutes to "find" their copy. They are pretty disorganized. They need to modernize and use a computer. Secondly, the filling was NOT what I ordered. It tasted good, but it wasn't what I paid for. There were no strawberries or cheese, just the tres leches filling. read more

Its a shame that I have to leave such a negative review for La Flor- They are an amazing bakery as far as taste and quality. I have done business with them in the past for family events. It's unfortunate that i have to come on a public platform to expose how unfair they have treated a family referral. A relative of mine ordered a cake about 2 months ago and left a $300 deposit for her daughters baby shower event. Unfortunately, her daughter ended up losing her child a week before the baby shower. I reached out to the bakery after learning that they would only accommodate my aunt - a credit of baked goods or a cake but no cash because of "new policies". (Keep in mind the cake was not even baked yet.) On the phone, I called to clarify That this was in-fact the issue. The lady on the phone expressed to me that their was a miscommunication and that they tried reaching out to my aunt in regards to a refund of the cash. She expressed her condolences and assured me that "a loss of life is more important than money". Kindly, I responded with a thank you in relief that we had come to an understanding. I reached out to my aunt and let her know she can go ahead and retrieve her funds. She arrives- only to receive a note stating The opposite of what we discussed, with today's date. The note states: $190 of baked goods credit no cash. They denied having said what they did and sent my aunt on her way. Absolute shame. read more

Wow, just wow! I was hunting for a dulce de leche cake for an office birthday party and luckily found this little gem just in time. I've lived in Port Chester for years but never knew this bakery existed, it's the tiniest inconspicuous store front. I ordered just one day ahead of time and had no clue what to expect, but the owner was the loveliest person and promised an amazing cake so I went with it. She wasn't exaggerating: the cake looked breathtaking and was SO DELICIOUS! Not too sweet, moist but not wet, everyone at the office was raving about it. Officially it feeds 20 people, but we easily got 30 generous servings out of it. For $60 (cash only), that's a steal! I'm almost hesitant to spread the word because I feel like I stumbled across a well kept local secret, but this bakery deserves all the kudos I can give. Besides their excellent tres leches cake, I'm also a fan of their churros, and the sheet cake slices with vanilla frosting and sprinkles. The decor is strange: baked goods lined up in carts, goods out in the open, etc., which may sound unsanitary, but everything tasted fresh. Most of the bakery items were $1. This place is as close to being in Mexico as you can get. It is crammed full of every authentic Mexican baked good you can think of. The flan is simply amazing and enormous. Went to a party yesterday and brought that and a whole bunch of their churros. Churros were supposed to be for kids, but got grabbed up by adults as well.
