If I could give five stars to the bread, I would. We got the chocolate pan dulce, and it was very soft and flavorful. They have a few bread options to choose from. They have many bread trays, and tongs to use, but the tongs could use some cleaning. Unfortunately, though, the service sucked. Two men in the front, using profanity, and not acknowledging us when we walked in. I remember coming here as a child and being greeted so kindly, so the service today was disappointing. I would say I'd come back for the bread alone, but really hope the tongs are cleaner and the person who we see right when we walk in is a little more professional. read more

Bread is tasty and authentic. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the bread trays and thong's missed the mark. Trays and thongs used by customers are not washed nor cleaned off between customers use. Definitely not a good practice especially during these difficult COVID times. Cashiers apron was filthy, and not due to food stains from cooking but just plain dirty from not being washed. Every single Sunday we'd go to morning mass at St Joseph's and afterwards was La Flor de Jalisco. My dad would bring Rita change for the busy day and they'd quickly exchange pleasantries while various ones of us would exit the stuffed car and get everyone's favorites! My dad would not let us eat in the car so we had to smell those warm bolillos and pan dulce all the way home. Everything they offer is delicious and it made from the heart! They make fresh bread starting every morning and end up running out pretty quickly. Despite that, you'll still find a really good variety even towards the afternoon. They open early but close early as well so be aware of their hours. This was my first time so I got about 10 different breads. Each pan is about $0.75. I couldn't wait so I tried one as soon as I got into the car. My mouth watered. The pan is delicious! It has a unique flavor that you can't get enough of. The one I had was a mix of warm, softness inside but a crunchy outside. I want to say it was called Chilandrina. All of their pan is amazing and so worth it. The owner is fantastic and downright genuine (important to run a good business). He honored the "1 Free Pan" check in but usually throws in an extra on top of that, which is even better. Don't let the store front fool you! This place is authentic as they come. At first I thought it was pretty expensive for the size, but this is made from scratch, not like what you get at other bakeries or especially those big super markets. You have to get here early to get the bread nice and warm. Yes, maybe sometimes they open and the bread is not ready, but it is worth the wait. I live a few miles away and I would rather come back to get bread from here that any other local bakery. This place rocks! Earlier this year, my husband and I tried this place since we saw this bakery had chilidrinas. Chilidrinas are a childhood favorite of my husband and they are hard to find! They ran out last time we were here! Although they were out, the owner gave us his card and told us to call so he can save us some. He also told us to take two extra breads/cookies since they had a limited selection at the moment. Those chilidrinas are their best sellers and they do go fast as well as their tamales. My husband and I got lucky because they were last red dozen available. The tamales were delicious with much flavor. The masa was.moist and had plenty of meat! After the first visit, we knew we would return for the famous chilidrinas. We made an early morning trek today to La Flor de Jalisco so we can get some pan and tamales. As we arrived, we smelled the fresh baked bread! They brought out trays galore of assorted pan. Of course, we stocked up on the chilidrinas! We also saw other people stocking up on many favorites, the chilidrinas were almost gone! We wanted some tamales, however the owner said they will sell them at the end of the month. We will ve back! The owner also honored the yelp check in offer and gave us an extra bread too! On our way home, we tasted one of their warm media lunas. It was so soft and fresh! There is nothing like fresh baked bread! This was the first time I purchased pan dulce fresh from the oven like this! When we came home, my husband and I enjoyed our pan dulce. I finally tasted one of their world famous chilidrinas. It was crunchy & sweet.on the outside and soft on the inside. I also had a pumpkin empanada which had plenty of pumpkin filling and toasty! Although the selection wasn't as wide as other panaderias (minus half a star), the customer service was beyond excellent (plus half a star). The employee seemed eager to answer my questions; he went so far as to explain that I had pointed to the slightly larger breads, so they'd be more expensive.
