The chocolate cheesecake castella cake was super moist, the custard bread had the perfect balance of sweetness, and was soft and fluffy with just the right amount of filling. The almond bread was tasty too, with raisins mixed in for extra texture. One thing to note for anyone with nut allergies: although the ingredient label only listed almonds in the almond bread, there seemed to be other nuts present as we experienced an allergic reaction despite not being allergic to almonds. read more

Bleu Bakery is a Korean style bakery that has a good variety of breads and sweets. I bought several different breads to try and they were all really good. I do wish that they had more savory options. Something that is easily passed on is the Rusk ($2.75). Don't skip on this because it's so good! If you've never had Rusk before, it's like a crouton that is lightly sweetened except the crisp is super airy and not hard like a traditional croutons. Super cute bakery tucked away in the corner of this plaza. Since the market closed down I wanted a little snack before the event that we were going to go to and the only other option for that was the donuts, but as we made the turn I saw Bleu Bakery in the corner and wanted to stop by. Glad we did! It's self serve bread, so grab a tray and grab what you'd like. There's lots of unique breads and pastries here too like a red velvet castella, corn sable, different sweet potato creamy breads, goguma bun, etc. and you also have classics here like the sausage bread, melon pan, chocolate spiral cornet, etc. Their cakes are also pretty and cute looking. I think I might swing by to grab one for the next celebration! There's a little nook to the side with tables and seating and you can enjoy your breads and coffee here and chat or work on something. They even cut the bread for you which is super nice. The ladies working here are very friendly and welcoming. I got a chocolate castella cake (stayed moist days after and fresh), a sweet potato bread, goguma bread, corn sable (family ate this before I could try), and these cute little breads that looked like corn (had actual corn in it) and a potato (had mashed potatoes in it). Best Korean bakery I've had outside of Korea. I've had a lot of bakeries in the Koreatown area, but they honestly aren't that fresh. They were constantly bringing out fresh made pastries. The mixed berry mini cake is perfect for a few people and it's sooo yummy and fresh! Not too sweet and just amazing. Highly recommend. The owner is so sweet and I love the different twists they've put on classic Korean donuts I grew up eating. A local bakery that I had never been to before until recently when a friend's birthday was that night and we needed to buy a cake. Bleu is a local bakery that makes a variety of breads and beautiful cakes of different sizes. We got the blueberry one and it wasn't too sweet at all and we were able to eat it! Before leaving, I asked what time they usually have all their items out, and they said around 10am This was a little surprising to me since they open at 7am. This is a Korean owned Bakery that is located in the Greenland Market Strip Mall Plaza ( mostly Korean owned stores ) off the corner of Colima and Nogales. There is a huge parking lot there so parking won't be an issue. Bleu Bakery is like Korean version of Porto. It mainly sells bread, some cakes and a few coffee. It has a indoor patio places connected next to it so you can sit down and enjoy your coffee and bread. The lady/server there originally was friendly. I specifically asked her if i can take pictures and record. She said yes. I told her that I take them to post it up for reviews on google and yell. Then I guess another one of the lady employee came into work. She was speaking Korean which I don't understand but her tone of talking to her colleagues and her gesture didn't sound nice. I had a feeling they were talking to me because it is a little obvious. I would prefer her to speak to me if there is any problem since I'm open to any feedback or comments from her. My husband had an apple hand pie it looked like. Lots of fresh apples in a semi sweet filling and flaky pastry. The woman on the phone was so sweet and wonderful considering I I have never gone there before she explained everything to me and I was able to schedule a cake for pick up When I got to the bakery, it was just so cute so clean and you can tell that they really take the time and put so much love into their pastries If it wasn't out of the way for me, I think I would make this a weekly or monthly treat ! My bf got the curry bun and he loved it. The cashiers and bakers were super sweet and patient as we browsed all their breads. We noticed that the breads are baked fresh every morning and have labels for when they get replaced with fresh ones thru out the day. I got the two small breads, one shaped like a corn and one like a sweet potato. The outside of both is like a layer of chewy, thin mochi. Came here in the morning to pick up a cake and I'm glad I did. The cake I chose is the smallest size with two layers. For the price of it and with how inflation is, it's affordable. When biting into it, you can tell that they baked it with love. The whipped cream was very fluffy and not sweet at all. The sponge of the cake was very fresh and soft. The strawberries were fresh and not sour. The staff was friendly and was able to assist me in picking a cake. This place does offer free candles AND a pack of matches. I am just gonna say that I am obsessed with red beans bread here. You cannot go wrong with any type of bread with red beans paste. Their buns are stuffed with fillings which I love. I am often disappointed by the buns that are hollow inside with little fillings but it is not the case here. I have also tried their sweet potato bread, peanut bread and curry croquettes, and I also really enjoyed them. Goguma bread is similar to read beans bread in terms of consistency but just a personal preference in which flavor you prefer. Curry croquettes are very light with good amount of potato curry fillings inside. It is not as heavy as regular curry croquettes, so it really depends on what your preference is. Personally, I enjoyed more of the lighter breading texture of their croquettes. Not so greasy. Peanut bread is my second favorite just because the bread itself has strong nutty flavor with sweet peanut cream inside. It is more of a dessert item. I am also a bit bias because I absolutely love peanuts and it is not common to find peanut cream bread. It is a small shop but has friendly service. Definitely recommend this bakery esp if you are looking for more traditional korean breads. read more

Like, I think we might have a new addiction good. Before I go into individual buns that we tried, I wanted to note that the flavors here are light and delicate, which can go either way for people. On to the food! Ube Cream w Red Bean - This one may have been one of the single best buns I've ever had for the price. It's not a perfect bun, mind you, I personally felt the bread texture wasn't my preference (not as fluffy as I'd like for this), but the taste profiles were amazingly well balanced. Each flavor stood out, and when you had a perfect bite with all the elements, it was like a symphony in your mouth *chefs kiss*. No one flavor overpowers the other, and they all serve to enhance each other. I'm not even the hugest fan of red bean pastries, and this was ridiculously good. Ube powder, spot on. Creme filling, light and delicate, red bean paste, smooth and balanced. Ordering this every time. Curry Croquette - Fairly certain these are the same bun, with the Curry having some light Curry paste. This one is a personal taste question. Now, this is well fried with good texture, and the potato is very creamy. That said, the flavor is very light and much more potato than curry. I wouldn't personally come here for these because I like my curry buns to kick me in the face with curry flavor, but these are well made and actually reheat really well. Donut Twist - My wife loved this one and you can taste everything that went into it. As with most of the pastries we had here, it was lightly sweetened, and you can taste the dough. The texture is like a dense mochi, fried just enough that, as my wife put it, you can just taste the sin without being too heavy. A solid bun and on my wife's list of must haves. Birthday Cake - We also bought a cake for my youngest's birthday and we all loved it! It wasn't strawberry season, so the strawberries were a bit tart, but the cream and the cake were done very well. Their soft touch on sugar went a long way here, making the flavors delicate and balanced. Good texture, good flavors, good cake! Definitely a spot we would come back to! read more
