Ok-average neighborhood asian bakery (it's located in the vons plaza). They have bread and cakes. Cake is available at store, unless it's custom design or size. They can write on the cake too, it will be the typical red handwriting. Fruits on the cake are fresh and crisp, also decorated very nicely. The cake comes in 3 thin layer and filled with loaded chopped fruits between layers (you can request what fruits you want if you call ahead). This cake has more fruit than cake. Whipped cream has nice texture but isn't as tasty though. read more

Their owner, Leo and I created a lot beautiful and delicious wedding cakes together. He is very easy to work with and will go the extra miles to meet your request. They are specialized in fresh cream cake with fresh fruit ingredients. And their price is really reasonable, too. This is definitely a hidden jewel in our neighborhood. Nini... Nope, nope nope. Dingy small bakery. Terrible customer service, rude and unpleasant. The place has filthy floors and walls. I bought an over priced cake for my aunts birthday for $36 and a boba tea for my daughter $3.75, the cake was just ok, my daughter said that boba was good. In my opinion, it is not worth the money. Plus, the place looks run down and needs a good cleaning. This was our first visit. ****The biggest reason for my 1 star review was based on the 2nd visit: My teen daughter went a couple of weeks later for a boba tea $3.75 plus tax. She gave the cashier her debit card to pay. The cashier took my daughter's card and holds on to it. She tells her that she will not give it back until she spends at least $10. My daughter is a teen, so she didn't know that this is against California consumer protection laws. The cashier refused to give my daughter her debit card back and told her that she would not give her, her card back until she bought something in addition to the boba. My daughter picked out two small cakes and the boba tea and the cashier said the total is $9.98 so she is 2 cents short of $10! The cashier then says she needs to buy another item! At this point, my daughter is scared and worried that she will not get her debit card back, so she adds another small cake. At this point the bill is almost $13! This is extortion! First of all, there is no law that says that you must spend $10 to use a credit/debit card. What is really happening her is that the cashier at Nini Bakery, saw my daughter is young and inexperienced and decided to take advantage of her by making her buy more items just to get her card back! What the cashier should have done is to make an exception and ring her up for the $4 drink! Or she should have just handed my daughter her debit card back and said "sorry I only take cash on small purchases." But because she had already made the boba tea she didn't want to lose the sale and wanted my daughter to spend more money than she intended to. That is sneaky and crafty and downright unlawful. The "cash only" days are over, this business needs to get with the program. Most people use cards or Apple Pay/Google Pay. Aside from that what this woman did is extortion and criminal. You can not keep someone's debit card just because they aren't spending the amount that you want. Nini Bakery, you lost our business forever! We will never go into your bakery and this is a warning to everyone... don't patronize places like this. If they want you to pay cash only, it is probably because they are not reporting their sales! read more

First time purchasing from here today 04/25/19 and I will not be back. I heard about this place through my co workers because they always purchase their birthday cakes here. I've tried several different cakes from here and loved all of them. Today I came by to buy a small cake for my sisters birthday. Granted I was in a hurry I looked at the display case, picked the one I wanted and told the cashier who then packaged it for me. When I got home and opened the cake I was appalled at what I saw. They had sold me a cake that I don't know how many days old it was and how long it had been sitting in the display case. The fruits on there were dry and shriveled. The cake itself was hard to the touch. I am very disappointed they sold me an old cake. Shame on them. I trusted them to sell me something fresh not old. I would recommend this bakery to anyone that wants a custom cake at a decent price. 1/4 sheet custom design and flavor cake for $65 The bakery had mixed up my cake design (golf theme baby shower cake) with a restaurant's anniversary cake (restaurant logo) when I went to pick it up on the day of my friend's baby shower. The staff was able to locate the bakery chef who happened to be at the Diamond Bar location. The bakery chef was able to make me a fresh cake in about 30 minutes and the cake design looked like the photo I had given them. My sister told me she loved their egg salad bread ($1.50), so I decided to try it out. For about 3 weeks, that's all I've been getting there! What makes it so special is that the egg salad is fresh AND they use a wheat bun. They keep it in the fridge in the back. I don't know how, but they make their wheat buns delicious!! It still tastes sweet! I can eat at least 2 in one sitting... Avoid the pickle bun.. I tried it out since it was only $1. It was not satisfying. Their pineapple buns ($1.10) are also made with wheat bread, and surprisingly, the wheat bun is sweet as well. Their $10 credit card minimum still annoys me though. read more

Texture is good. Flavor is a bit off and bland - could be from being wrapped in the plastic maybe or a little old? I probably wouldn't get this one again. Red Bean Sesame Cookie: Ok. Not sure why I forgot to write a review for Nini's, but better late than never... My wife and I had been searchiing for a wedding cake that was both delicious and affordable. After weeks of searching, we realized that the best place for us is the bakery that we go to the most...Nini's. (here quite often because my wife likes their 2 for $3 milk tea boba special). So on to the cake, Nini's was extremely helpful in helping us coordinate and order our wedding cake. Michelle (i hope thats her name) helped us diligently with our colors, flowers and other decor. They have a wedding folder of different wedding cake styles to help in your decision making, or you can bring in your own design and they can make it for you. We were very please that she was very accomodating and allowed us to mix and match designs to get it the way we wanted. On to the taste...delicious! light, fluffy and not to sweet yet not bland at all. They allowed us to sample some cakes in house and that helped us make our decision much easier. We went with Chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate as our flavors to each layer, and decided to stay simple yet always delicious with fresh strawberry filling. Price is great!...less than $350 for a wedding cake to feed approximately 180 guest is a steal if you ask us! Best part about it is that the cake definitely did not disappoint asthetically. It was beautiful! She even delivered the cake to our reception site (less than 10 mi away) for free! Coming from an Asian bakery (c'mon you know what i mean...) we love this bakery because of their friendliness and customer service (unlike that 'other' bakery on the other end of the shopping center). Oh my, where do I start? Best place to go for a cheap sandwich right when you get off from school! I especially enjoy eating their Tuna Sandwich! I like to come here instead of JJ Bakery sometimes because their cakes taste pretty much the same and are cheaper, but they don't have as clean of a look as JJ cakes. Their selection of bread is also smaller and I think JJ's breads are better tasting. However, Nini does have one thing I love that JJ does not...their drink menu! Last summer they had summer tea specials where large sized green or black tea was only $1! I hope they bring it back this summer :) Me and my coworkers love their black tea, so refreshing and, speaking as a person who can't handle too much caffeine, I feel their tea is strong enough for me to get through a tough day. If you spend over $10 they give you a $1 off coupon good for you next purchase. I think they still give these. All in all, a great little bakery. Heads up, this parking lot is a nightmare. read more

This is my all time favorite place to go to for breakfast or snack items. The bread selection is varied very much like that of J.J.'s except personally I find Nini's a whole less oily and salty. Decent service, friendly staff although they did not take a coupon we had that was 1 day late that was the entire reason why we stopped by grrrr.
