The service is friendly and the food is delicious. Particularly recommend the biscuits- they practically melt in your mouth!

I ordered two breakfast tacos on flour tortillas and a side of refried beans. One of barbacoa and one of machacado. Well, do not waste your money here. The flour tortillas were hard and were chewy and stale. The machacado and egg is 99.5% egg, and .5% machacado. Why not just call it an egg taco? The barbacoa was tasteless and runny. The beans were runny and lumpy. I remember eating here about 12 years ago and the food was great! I'm not sure what has changed but I will not spend my money there again. read more

Do you wanna feel loved by a team of Mexican mamas this is literally the place to go. My favorite breakfast dish is el desayuno don Martín you can actually just share it between two people for the price it's amazingly delicious and the portions are those of a mom trying to make sure you get more than your fill I LOVE coming here for breakfast and lunch ! read more

I decided to take my family to have breakfast at this place because I had not been here in a while. Food was good but customer service was horrible. Place was dead, table was dirty, waitress took our order then never returned. Another person brought food, was never offered refill we had to yell at waitress to bring us refills. I was in town for a high school graduation and spent the night. Morning brought breakfast and I consulted yelp for my morning meal. La Fonda de Don Martin was on yelp so I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I ordered the machacado plate and my husband had the Huevos Albanal which the waitress said is eggs bathed in devil sauce so basically burn you're younger off hot. There was a resident tortilla lady cranking out tortillas! The food was delicious and the tortilla were fresh and hot . The place is abbot pricey. It totally worth it. We were visiting Laredo with friends and family and decided to give this place a try. We had tacos de barbacoa that were amazing, the gorditas were really good too. Tortillas and gorditas are hand made. The only thing we were disappointed in were the chilaquiles, it seemed to be more like chips and salsa with not enough salsa. Just arrived in town to visit parents, picked this place based on yelp reviews. Highly disappointing food and horrible service. All plates come out at same time. One platter eggs were not made to request, brought to server attention. Nothing done to correct it. Requested corn tortillas and server took away flour ones, only for him to return with cold FLOUR ones again! He disappeared again. 2 out of 3 of us were over half done with meals before correct tortillas brought and the butter/ syrup for pancakes was even brought out. Who brings a pancake platter out without butter & syrup!!! At one point, my empty dish was taken away & no refill on beverages offered. Next time server came around, only one of 3 of us offered refill. Food: I've had better chillaquiles in Chicago at American brunch places. Poor service. Lousy food. Avoid. read more

My favorite in Laredo for Mexican food. I always order the Tampiquena plate. It comes with a generous serving of tender fajitas instead of the usual thin and tough steak served at most restaurants. The portions are generous, almost too much for one meal. Tortillas are made in front of you, and they are delicious. Service is excellent as well. read more

I usually don't write reviews unless the place is really bad or really good. This restaurant has a variety of great food, but the waitresses are the reason I cannot give this rating higher than a 3. ALL not one, but ALL waitresses seem to avoid eye contact. Recently, I've been come here every Saturday and every time I come I encounter the same issue. First of Laredo's temperature is hot most of the day . Inside this place is not a good place to cool off , it was hot inside . Their was a portable fan next to us but did not feel cool air enough. The food , I ordered pancakes which l needed to tell the waiter to bring butter . Which is not a good choice to order at a Mexican restaurant anyway . My wife ordered the Chilaques without the eggs . Eduardo, the manager was attentive and super friendly and our waitress Lillian ...well, I wanted to take her home. My husband and I headed to this restaurant on the recommendation of a native Laredoan. After getting past the fact that the atmosphere is not very romantic or modern, we ordered a bowl of guacamole and chips to start off our meal. We were delighted when the guac arrived (a huge bowl for $5!) with a side of re-fried beans topped with queso fresco. Both were absolutely delicious. The salsa they served on the side was interesting and sweet -- more like a southern chow chow than your typical salsa. For his entree, my hubbie order fajita tacos and I ordered the Pollo en Mole. My husband claims he ate all three tacos almost against his will because they were just so good! I can say the same for my Pollo en Mole. The sauce was perfect and the same as what I've had in the homes of those who cook authentic Mexican cuisine. We both ate until we were stuffed and left very happy. The prices were good -- only $8 - $10 per entree so it made the lack of ambiance more understandable. Note: The entire menu is in Spanish so either be prepared to whip out your translator app or bring someone who can speak the language. Or, like me, try to use it as a learning opportunity. Twice I've been there, and twice I've been SOOO disappointed! The food is clearly microwaved, the beans and the salsa come from a CAN, the staff is so painfully slow and on my second visit, the chips were going stale. I asked the waiter to replace the chips and, essentially, he just went to the back and shuffled them a bit. That's it, I'm never going back.
