    Steak burrito
    Mary P.

Visited June 30th..see receipt. I have been hearing about this place so I thought I would give it a try because I love mexican food! Their posted hours start at 4am! When you drive into La Fortuna Bakery the food to order is to the left and the store to buy dry foods and other items is attached and to the right. They have indoor and some outdoor seating as well. I ordered the steak burrito to go. It does not come with salsa so you need to ask for it! The burrito was a decent size ( especially for the money) but there was very little steak in it. It still tasted very good, and the burrito was wrapped up nicely. The red salsa was a bit watery and not spicy enough for my taste. The prices on their menu are budget friendly especially for the portion you are getting. I hear the tortas and tacos are good as well. I think I got spoiled by another place down the street that has massive burritos with a ton of meat and are generous with their salsas! I would still come back again and try their tortas. It's a cute stop and make sure you visit their store next door!

Legit burrito with authentic ingredients quickly prepared. Enjoyed a real Coca-cola with cane sugar. Nice little dining area inside and clean bathroom.

It might look a bit unexpected on the outside and inside but you should still check it out

Taqueria + convenience store + bakery in the back.. its a bit of an unusual setup but still worth a visit. Left door is the taqueria with 2 tables outside. Right door to enter the convenience store.. I think there's a few tables inside the convenience that you might be able to eat at. Lunch crowd seemed to be a bunch of locals so you know the food is good. Get the steak torta.. its delicious and less than $8! Not super big but tasty. We also got the Pork burrito, which was okay esp for $8 and a bit smaller than I would expect. The convenience store has all sorts of snacks (looked like they might be Mexican snacks?) And fun treats. All in all if you're in the area I'd recommend you check it out

I had a pretty legit super burrito with cabeza here as my brunch meal on a long drive…read more The truck is set up near a big enclosed area so you can get out of the sun or rain depending on the weather. There are also port a potty bathrooms, although they were locked. The location is basically at the end of a road behind a liquor store. Isn't that where the best tacos always are, somewhere off the beaten path? So before ordering, I did see a sign which I interpreted as "extra salsa costs money", which I find kind of annoying. Depending on how the salsa is, I may want to douse every bite in it, so I was hoping that at least what they did give was good. As it turned out, I didn't need to worry, since the sign actually means "no salsa included - at all". So that's kind of lame, what kind of place doesn't give you any salsa at all? Onto the burrito - despite no salsa, this was a very good burrito. A bit greasy, with a fair amount of oil leaking out, but that's normal for fatty braised meat like cabeza. Some salsa verde would have been welcome though. Size-wise it was totally worth it, the ingredients were well integrated, and the tortilla was chewy and held together to the last bite. The wrapping job was also good, so aside from the grease overflowing from my big bites, there were no leaks. I live nowhere near this place so I can't imagine when or if I'll be back, but as far as a good pit stop on I5 this place delivers.

They treated me to breakfast. Got the usual smaller breakfast. She got an omelet with spinach. Service was extremely slow for some reason which is very unusual. Food was good and we were both happy. This place has it all. You walk in and to your right are 200 plus beers to choose from. On your left is a sit-down restaurant. Further down is a deli counter, a bakery, gelato, and all kinds of local honey, olives, pasta, spices, you name it, and a gift shop. The bathrooms are clean and large enough to accommodate a large amount of people at one time. We decided to taste the gelato while waiting for our car to charge since we already had lunch, but looking at the fact that they make their own sourdough a sandwich would be a great choice for future stops. The gelato is made in house, and I had a lemon which was light and refreshing. My husband had the dark chocolate gelato. He said it didn't have a heavy milk based taste and not really creamy but very chocolaty. The server for the gelato was very friendly and let me taste first. I would stop here again even if I didn't have an EV car to charge.

Visited September 28 2025. See my receipt as always!…read more This place is in Williams off the main street ( 7th Street behind Granzellas).I was recommended by a friend to give it a try for breakfast. Glad I did! They open at 8am and I ordered the breakfast burrito and a crunchy taco ( both carne asada ). I ordered it to go. What I liked is that they were already getting busy which is always a good sign! The burrito was HUGE and wrapped up nicely and tight! It had plenty of meat and bell peppers and onions with egg and potatoes. The crunchy asada taco was full of meat! Burrito is seriously enough for 2 to 3 people! Love that they included different salsas ( I like super hot!) Along with sour cream and chips. It's air conditioned inside with plenty of seating and they also have outside seating. They do a really busy take out business as well! It was clean inside with plenty of parking. It WAS instant and I have NEVER had any restaurant serve instant! I left it on the table, figuring that was her tip! Probably gonna try to off it on the next sucker. The food, otherwise, was as expected from some restaurant that serves it's customers instant coffee as fresh brewed. Do they really think we are idiots? Of tourists who'll never be back anyway? Worst is that when I paid the bill, the big ugly cook had to stand menacingly at her side, snarling, I guess to intimidate. For the lousy $22. lunch, I thanked them, smiled, and will rot in Hell before either I or anyone else I can tell about this dump will ever go back! (Spits in the dust!)
