100% recommend incredible experience. The charcuterie board that I made was stunning. We got a baguette as well from this location and everyone raved about it. I can't remember all of the cheeses but highly recommend getting the brie and the comte. They were stars of the show. everyone was super helpful and friendly, and I definitely recommend going at opening because it gets very busy with their sandwiches around lunchtime.
Wow! The raspberry bow and almond croissant are simply divine. We can't decide the winner between La Fromagerie and Under Study in St. Helena, CA. Challenge is on!
Did I just eat the best breakfast croissant of my life? I think I did! We were in the area to partake in some fleet week viewing and needed a quick bite. We saw the menu outside that they did breakfast croissants and we got the one that came with bacon, onion jam, double Brie creamy cheese and tomatoes. My girlfriend doesn't like eggs, so we opted out of that and they were nice enough to replace it with extra bacon. Standing outside, a lady was talking about how they got the best croissants so I was excited and it did not disappoint. The toasted croissant paired with the bacon and Brie cheese, I'm craving one just thinking about it lol While the price is a bit steep, $17 after tax and tip, it was worth it IMO, and would order it again. Definitely would look to come back when I'm craving a breakfast sandwich or in need of some charcuterie items!
A really cute counter shop with a huge display of cheeses - there were so many types and I love that their sandwiches each feature a different cheese. We got the le toulouse which had duck, gruyere, fig jam, and greens. This ended up being part 1 of our lunch, mostly because they didn't have seating (there's barely any walking room for more than like 2-3 people in the shop). The employees were super friendly and totally saw me eyeing the pastries too and highkey baited me into buying one lol (great choice, they were right to do so). So we ended up with a cherry pistachio croissant too. Sandwich was solid, i feel like the fig jam really makes it. Pastry was delicious.
A quaint little spot that fills up pretty quickly--it took a while for us to find open seating out front. It would be great if they could add more sidewalk seating, though I know space is limited. The place has cute European vibes, and we enjoyed a cheeseboard with some wine while people-watching. It's perfect for a sunny-day catch-up.

There's a couple tables outside to sit but otherwise it's more of a grab n go situation. I tried the sandwich with duck and was pretty good. Everything was delish with flavors, the bread, and the duck. It's a great place for some quick food. All the sandwiches and salads looked great and made fresh.

Came across La Fromagerie and they have a great deal! Combo charcuterie board and two glasses of wine for $45.99. Other places were asking $30-$40 for just the charcuterie board. So we decided to try it out. They have a few tables out front but all were taken so we were a bit disappointed. The gal at the counter said wait a second and went out back to get another table and two chairs for us... Such good service! She was so sweet and helpful. Board came with triple cream brie and smoked gouda, meat, dates, I forgot what the dip was and fresh bread. Really good and the cheese portions were fantastic we had to ask for extra bread which they did not charge for, but we did ask for two additional glasses of wine. All in all a delicious snack and experience. Very nice quaint Cheese shop (and bakery) with super friendly staff! They had a few different croissants and buns but not a lot. Seemed very popular as folks were ordering that.
Needed a quick bite on our way back to Marin and happened across this lovely spot. The ladies behind the counter are very efficient and polite. The offerings sound delicious and the turkey sandwich with tomato, habanero sauce, arugula, and avocado was delicious. We will absolutely remember this spot coming into and going out of the city.

Sandwich was pretty decent, easy to eat so they got the textures right. For the price it's a good value. Side salad: C+ It was a kale salad that was just okay, the dressing tasted good though. Caviar chips: B- Interesting flavor of chips, I've never seen it before. Would say it wasn't my favorite flavor but the potato chip quality is good and crispy.

Why settle for a more flavorful meal when I was about to try what's healthy and balanced during lunchtime? Pictured below was Pyrenees grilled cheese infusion sandwich with tossed kale salad on the side. The toasted bread was never hard to chew, nor did they come apart when stuck together with the combined melted cheeses. The cheese itself, as pungent as it's nutty, never ceased to amaze me. The quality of the cave aged and others made me think that they're my best cheese selection for the happy hour during the Paris Olympics. What more shall I add for la petit cheese shop? Its short, narrow space surely makes up with many customers getting in line to purchase the variety of cheese. Three cheers to women owned!

I'm French but have lived in the US for years now, and am always looking for a little slice of home. Walking down Chestnut St while visiting San Francisco, I immediately noticed the name of the shop and knew I had to stop. So glad I did! They have an amazing variety of cheeses from France, but also from other countries. They also have great prices on fantastic wines. I found one of my favorite French cheese (St Felicien) which is difficult to find in the US and the French women working at the store were nice enough to make me a sandwich so I could eat my cheese to go! I wasn't able to get to a fridge for hours but really wanted to get this hard to find cheese. It was so delicious and their baguette bread is perfect. We also got the Toulouse sandwich which was fantastic. All in all: great food, amazing service and in a great location. You cannot go wrong here! read more
An absolute hidden gem of a pastry shop within a cheese shop!! Pastry is freshly baked every day and they have such creative variety. I highly recommend the double chocolate croissant for chocolate lovers. I have never seen a flavor like this anywhere else in the city. Food: Visited the store for the first time and had a great experience. They were very generous in offering samples of their freshly made truffle Brie. The cheese was rich, creamy, and flavorful, with the truffle complementing the Brie beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up purchasing a piece to take home. read more

Nice French sandwich, salad, and cheese shop. The two owners are from Lyon, France. I got the Parisienne baguette..and she gave me the rest of the baguette at the end of the day. I finally had a chance this morning to visit the new cheese shop while I was running an errand. I love brie cheese, and the triple cream brie with fig jam in the display case caught my attention. They are playing French music and I recognized the song that was featured in Emily in Paris & I started singing along. The salesperson (Morgan) was surprised that I knew the song, and I told her that it was featured in Emily in Paris. We started talking about the show, food & fashion and cheese, of course. Morgan was really helpful with my cheese selection & was kind enough to give me a little more fig jam to complement the brie cheese when serving. At the checkout counter, I noticed almond croissants, which I love & bought for tomorrow's breakfast (petit dejeuner pour demain). I'm happy to have an artisan cheese shop as an addition to our neighborhood. I'm also happy to have someone to practice my French with. Yummy cheese & warm, friendly service can't be beat! Update: I enjoyed the Brie cheese with fig jam & light wafers as a pre-dinner snack. The Brie was buttery smooth, mild flavored & fig jam added a touch of sweetness & rounded out the flavor. I ate the almond croissant for breakfast (toasted it in the counter oven) and it was buttery & flaky, with a generous amount of almond paste. Perfection! read more

I got 8oz of the Copa & the last slice of their homemade triple cream Brie with truffle in the middle, both of which are so delicious. They gave us samples of cheeses that we were asking about, & gave us the last croissant of the day as an extra treat! read more

We ordered the Mancha salad (with duck, figs, and massaged kale), a charcuterie board, Chardonnay, and a Blood Orange Lorina. The owners were so sweet and thoughtful with our order and even offered to switch out the cheeses we didn't enjoy--of course there was no need for that since they were all delicious. The cutest cheese shop! The staff (women owned and led) were incredible - I was under the weather and had no voice so I kindly asked for my items to go which was no problem for them. If I stayed and tried in person, I'm sure I would have enjoyed a sample of every single cheese in the shop! A huge variety of cheeses are available - any type of brie you want, you can find here. They have fun flavors with truffle too. The options are truly endless. You can also get made to order sandwiches or breakfast, which I definitely would like to come back for! As a charcuterie enthusiast trying to grow my own brand, I'd love to come back and support locally for my supplies. If you want to picnic with your purchases, you can also check out their extensive selection of boxed goods/crackers and jams in the back. They also have a good selection of wine! The prices are high, but what isn't in San Francisco. You're paying for good quality. If you're concerned about the price of cheese, you may be better suited at Trader Joe's or Costco. A little gem we discovered. We were just walking by after lunch and decided to walk in & check it out. Everything looked so good we had to order a sandwich. Glad we did, YUM. The person working was also super kind & friendly and easy to talk to, which I really appreciate. It's a nice modern shop, very clean & organized with delicious goodies. - Pyrenees grilled cheese: so satisfying. Simple & delicious with quality ingredients. Bread was fresh & nice, good cheese and arugula was fresh. So good. We will definitely be back for more! read more

I think this place is new....or at least new to me and very welcome addition to Chestnut street. Super cute place with a real French cheese shop vibe. Decor is very aesthetic without being over the top. The cheese (and the bread) are the real stars of this show. Tons of great cheese from France...Brie, raclette, goat, and on. All of it great. We tried a lot and we liked it all. The sandwiches are made to order and the Parisienne was amazing. I mean it was loaded with butter, ham, flavorful cheese, cornichon, and mustard piled on a French baguette. Delicious. They even have seating out side. The service was good and not good...felt like France but no one was rude . Check it out. read more
