    Empty sandwich

I would show you the sandwich but I ate it too fast. Had the Reunion sub...best sub in the city

    The Reunion

I got the reunion sandwich which had turkey, cheese, pesto, avocado and veggies on sourdough. I got it with extra pickles. I got the larger size and split it for two separate meals. Portions quite large. They were also very fast which I appreciated as i was in a hurry. The sandwich really hit the spot and was decent for the price.

Place looked busy but the 2 guys working the deli were super quick. I wonder if they copied the atomic from Submarine Center in west portal. But nonetheless very good sandwich. Can't wait to try another one.

I got the reunion and added jalepenos. It was SO SO good. It was also pretty huge. I had my boyfriend to get it for me so I can't speak on the ambiance or service but the sandwich itself didn't disappoint. Updated menu! July 2025.

Bring your appetite because the sandwiches are HUGE! Absolutely delicious & fresh ingredients & the bread with crunchy yet soft. Great food! Busy spot, but definitely worth the search for parking.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had, they are massive and full of fresh ingredients. The Dutch crunch was awesome. Parking is tough and paid on the street unless you go over a block to the neighborhood.

Nudged them to a fourth star for heart and great service. I really like these guys and want to see them succeed. That said, they need to look at their menu ingredients and rebalance. I ordered the Red Balls (meatballs, provolone, onions, jalapeño, marinara) and Spicy Bella (Buffalo chicken pepper Jack cheese, jalapeño, ranch). Both sandwiches were good, had quality ingredients but the amount of sauce in the Spicy Bella was overwhelming: Buffalo sauce and ranch dressing poured out of my sandwich. Didn't have a single complaint from The Incinerator who nearly downed his meatball sub before I took a bite; it was tasty. The Spicy Bella had a delectable amount of juicy chicken. What it needed was balance and texture. I added crunchy romaine and it came to life. It was a counterpoint to the spiciness (advise less sauce & jalapeños too). I gave the owner the secret Buffalo sauce recipe. I wouldn't be surprised to see Buffalo wings make the menu - or used on the Spicy Bella. (And no, you may not have it!) Prices are a touch high ($17/$19 subs) but they don't skimp on quality ingredients. Recommend.

Two thin slices of meat for a $20 sandwich
    Jake A.

So disappointed with this place. If you want a $20 sandwich that's super messy because it's soaking in sauce and only has 1-2 slices of meat and full of vegetables, then go here. They charge $3 extra for "extra meat" and add maybe 1 slice. The meat portion is so tiny. Even Subway does better. Order from Bite Sandwiches instead where they make real sandwiches, not a pile of soggy vegetables between bread.

Hands down best sandwich in the marina, perhaps even in sf. A couple of caveats: it's pretty pricey for a standard sized meal, definitely save this trip for a special occasion! One sandwich will cost you around $18 of not more. Secondly, they are busy so order ahead if you don't want to wait as long. Prep time is still around 15-20 minutes. Third, check your order before you leave, I ordered a Coke 0 and received a Diet Coke, and us Coke 0 girls know how big of a difference that is I will be back for sure next time I'm craving a delicious sandwich for a special occasion.

Walking towards the Presidio and the Marina, I came across Marina Subs and saw it's been there for over 50 years. Of course I had to look it up and turns out the original owner had left but it was reopened with new owners. Looking at the photos of the sandwiches before and after, it's a night and day difference. Although the size of the sandwiches have remained the same. Looking at the menu, there's plenty of cool options and crazy combos so I decided to take a chance on the Atomic Sandwich. It had a few different meats, jalapeños, oil and vinegar and veggies. It was light on the meats and heavy on the bread. It didn't come with jalapeños, instead it was banana peppers (two completely different flavor profiles) The size of the sandwich reminded me of little luccas in SSF but I thought the overall flavor of this sandwich was lacking. I got it on sourdough roll, but unfortunately the bread didn't taste fresh. There was so much bread, it would help if they cut out some of the inside of the bread so the meats have a nice canoe to sit in. The sandwich with a tip came out to $22. I think for the flavor and quality, it wasn't something I'd order again. It wasn't the tastiest sandwich, but I think with a few minor tweaks they can get this right. The people inside were really nice and they were pumping out sandwiches really quick. If I return, I think i'll definitely go for something with dutch crunch and something that includes mayo or some kinda spread because the sandwich I got was too dry for my taste.

And it kind of looks like a convenience store from the inside. But if you look deeper into the interior, you'll see an ordering counter and a kitchen. That's because the Twisted Café REALLY is a café. It's open every single day from 7AM - 10PM serving breakfast bagel and croissant sandwiches, breakfast toasts, bowls, pastries, smoothies, specialty sandwiches, teas and coffees. There are racks of potato chips and the like, refrigerated cases with soda, juices, beer, energy drinks, and a few grocery items. There are a few tables and chairs inside and a few outside in the courtyard next to the Infinity hotel. We were two of a dozen relatives staying at Infinity, all in town for a wedding. Our group made quite a few trips into the Twisted Café for snacks , drinks, breakfast, sandwiches, etc. The day of the wedding, we didn't want a big lunch, so my wife and I split a Veggie Delight Sandwich ($14) with Hummus, avocado, provolone cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, everything bagel seeds, tomatoes, and arugula on toasted ciabatta bread. It was really loaded up thick with all of those goodies and was an excellent value for the price, quantity and quality. A bag of chips was $1.99 and a Cappuccino was $5. Pretty reasonable pricing as well. The service was excellent, from the cheerful gent at the morning counter to the smiling young lady at the afternoon counter. There is a big screen TV on their exterior wall facing the courtyard, and we saw a group of soccer fans watching the World Cup! That seemed very appropriate given the "community vibes" we felt at the Twisted Café.

They offer a variety of breakfast options, and their Avocado Toast looked inviting, but I stayed with a cup of drip coffee. There was only one person behind the counter, and she welcomed me as soon as I walked in and took my order. The coffee was strong and flavorful, not too watery. I took my time sipping it while looking around the cafe from my seat. If I visit again, I would love to try their Avocado Toast and another hot cup of coffee here.

We got sandwiches and a wrap, both were really tasty. We ended up sharing halves of the wraps with some friends and they were hella impressed as well. Great value and great flavor and enough for two meals. So good that we went back a few weeks later and they added a special southwestern wrap, and somehow this one was even better! I hope they make this a staple on their menu because honestly I think I like the flavor profile better than the traditional cesar wrap. Egg salad sando / 7-Eleven: Best egg salad sando I've had…read morethus far in the city. Better than the more popular Japanese eateries/cafes. The bread is nicely soft, moist, and not too thick. Crust is light. The third slice helps break up the richness of the filling, and by being so thin (but not too thin), it keeps the overall bread:filling ratio in a good spot. It also helps give some friction, lessening the amount of filling that oozes out the back and sides when you take a bite. The filling is creamy, rich, and well seasoned. A pinch of something something to zhuz it up might be a nice option (maybe relish? Japanese curry powder? Furikake?), but as is it's a very solid basic egg sando. Besides the culinary side, at the current $10, it's reasonably priced. Chicken Caesar wrap: The salad tastes notably fresher than most other CCWs I've had and it's not too stem-y. It's close to what you'd get at a nice sit down restaurant, as opposed to some overdressed slop at a buffet table. Mine was a smidge light on the chicken, could've used a few more of the nicely seasoned croutons, and could've been rolled a bit tighter, but I would (and will) order it again. Service was friendly, feeling like a nice little neighborhood spot.
