We stopped in here for a quick breakfast with my parents while they were in town. There is seating inside (albeit close proximity tables and tight walkways) which was great because it was raining. We got the granola and fruit bowl, the avocado toast, a piece of quiche, and the breakfast sandwich. All were delicious - especially the quiche! I'd probably skip the granola bowl as it was a little too bird-seed for me. We probably waited 10-15 min for our food so be patient, greatness takes time! Will definitely be back.
Cute Jane location right on Fillmore street. This cafe definitely gets busy but I appreciate how fresh the pastries are and usually when I go in the afternoon for a pick me up caffeine boost there aren't many people here. I always get the cappuccino or an iced latte which is usually solid.
Came here for brunch with a friend on Sunday and had a great experience! The club sandwich and hot chocolate were delicious and service was fairly quick. Even though there was a line to order it went by pretty quickly. Seating initially looked limited but there's a constant flow of people coming and going + upstairs seating so you're still able to find a spot to sit down. Ambiance is great for catching up with a friend and we ended up sitting there for almost 3-4 hours
Stopped in for coffee and bites - wife got a dirty chai and avocado toast (if that ain't Cali, I don't know what is), and I was cappuccino and smoked salmon toast. My wife says the chai was very good, as often it can end up diluted, too sweet, or otherwise off. Jane's was very well done and balanced. Coffee as well - cappuccino was very well presented. Food seems to be one of the main attractions of this joint, and we both found our selections very good - and it helps if you're going to offer several toast options, to start with great bread, as Jane does. Thinking of this as more of a food joint than a coffee joint per se, and we'll be back.
Cute bakery on Fillmore with neat selection. Had cookies from here on a weekend as a part of a large order, and the service was wonderful, as the cookies were packaged neatly and in an organized box. The cookies were delicious!
What a wonderful cafe! Food is FRESH! Sourdough bread is AMAZING! Ambiance is upbeat and also relaxing. We ordered the Jane sandwich and Mozzarella sandwich - see photos. Absolutely would recommend and looking forward to visiting again someday soon!
A lovely and vibrant cafe with great vibes, friendly staff, and tasty treats! I've been making my rounds to all the Jane's in the area, and the location on Fillmore might be my favorite -- the team is cheerful and efficient, and the space is beautiful and always bustling. It can sometimes be a little tough to find a spot to sit with how popular the cafe is, but they have a good amount of seating and turnover is pretty quick, especially at their smaller high-tops next to the counter. It's not the ideal place to work -- they don't have wifi and it can get pretty loud -- but it's perfect for a casual brunch / lunch or to hang out with friends. The coffee is solid and a smidge nutty, and I'm obsessed with all their pastries. They have a relatively small pastry selection compared to Jane the Bakery, but they have most of the favorites, including a solid spread of vegan and gluten-free options. I haven't tried any of their normal food, but it looks delicious.

There are lots of tables inside and outside, with a parklet area. It's also a great spot to stop by if you're shopping on Fillmore. I got a chai and the crazy cookie, my friend got the mushroom pastry. The chai was good warm spice well. The crazy cookie was super good, it was light and not too sweet and the corn flake was such a nice touch. It was busy, but the service was really nice and pretty quick. I had a bite of the mushroom pastry and it was also amazing. This was such a great escape on a rainy day. The space is really clean and it seems really busy on the weekends, so keep that in mind, it might be hard getting a table. Overall I had a great experience.

The cold brew is strongggg and will keep you jittery for hours The peanut butter banana toast is good, but it's exactly what you could make at home. I'll continue coming back!
This place is at the very center of the hustle and bustle of Filmore street. A very hipster place with both inside and outside seating. It was a gorgeous day out so we definitely took advantage of it. We ordered our stuff inside and our drinks came out first. I had a latte.....it was a Camaderon and vanilla Latte. It was really good as iced. My friend had tea and my hubby hot cocoa. They food shortly came out soon there after and was really good for all 3 of us but I especially liked the homemade butter and berry jam for the toast. The service was totally there, friendly and fast. Thanks Jane for a good dining experience.
This is a popular lunch spot but able to find empty table for 2 both times I was here with my friends. We ordered at the counter and then they gave us a number on a metal stick. I tried the breakfast sandwich and quiche. Both items were good and reasonably priced. I appreciated I can use Blackbird Pay here which is how I discovered this place. Jane the Bakery is a few blocks down on Geary. This place sells a few pastries but not much.
Decent cafe with great bakery items and not bad savory items. I went on a weekend and there were a lot of seats available and almost no line at the register desk. We got the muffin and it was delicious! I highly recommend it: tasty, super moist and fluffy. We also got an avocado toast. The toast is not bad, but I'm not a fan of the pickled jalapeno in the toast. It was almost a bit too strong. The toast was also a bit overpriced in my opinion. The cafe has great ambiance and super spacious.
I love coming here. The baristas are friendly, the bowls are healthy, and the pastries are high quality and fresh. I recommend their coffee too. There is lots of seating and the inside is very cozy. There are two floors as well as tables outsides. I've tried the sweet potato bowl, veggie quiche, gingersnap cookies, and croissants and they're all delicious!

Went here on a Sunday morning for brunch and had no problem finding a table. I got the avocado mash. It came with a thick layer of avocado and sliced jalapenos on toast, but it still just tasted like avocado on bread. There wasn't anything that made it different from what I could make at home. The lemon ricotta brioche toast was lemon ricotta spread on thick brioche with blueberries on top. It tasted good, but it was a really simple dish and didn't feel worth ordering. The dragon fruit smoothie had a strong ginger taste that covered most of the dragon fruit. I only tried the Caesar salad from the combo. It had a lot of dressing, which worked well, and was probably my favorite thing I ate. The cappuccino was rich and had nice latte art. read more

Jane's is a classic for a late lunch, coffee and friend catch up on Fillmore Street. I always get the avocado mash and I love how it comes with the poached egg, jalapeños and pickled shallots, perfect meal for me. Their cappuccino is delicious and well made. I've been impressed with their cookies also. I've gotten the one with sprinkles and the chocolate chip toffee. I'd just skip on the Nutella brioche, the one I got was dry and disappointing. Their other pastry options on display look tempting so I'd try those in the future :) read more

Good spot overall! I like the flavor of their coffee and today I tried some of their food items. The avocado toast tasted super fresh, I like how they topped jt off with pickled jalapeños, nice touch there. I also ordered their almond cacao protein smoothie. You could tell the ingredients were clean which I liked and appreciated, no added sweeteners or bs. I would've liked it to be a little thicker of a consistency though! Solid spot, nothing crazy but I'd come back and try some other stuff. The workers are super friendly and chill!! The vibe is cool though I wish the tables were a little more spread apart. read more

I had their muffuletta sandwich but returned it after one bite because it was really expensive and had two slices of meat. The manager was really nice about that. I decided to give it another go today and get the ham and cheese quiche. Not a fan. The custard feels undercooked and has a predominantly sweet component that ruined the overall flavor. It was like eating a dessert with hard bits of ham and flavorless cheese. Sorry, Jane, I'm breaking up with you. read more
Jane's has a good amount of seating available but always busy. The pea toast is decent, the egg was poached nicely but pea smash could use more flavor. The baked goods at this location is a hit or miss - i've gotten stale cookies more than once read more
I love the food at Jane but the in-person experience leaves something to be desired... My go-to is the Chicory Chop - a classic chopped salad with a great balance of flavors and textures! But everything on the menu is delicious so you can't go wrong :) The portion sizes are super generous so everything is definitely worth the price, but it's almost impossible to grab a table if you go on the weekends, the line takes forever, and the tables aren't cleared very often. It's also always SO HOT inside. I'll keep coming back forever for the food but just know what to expect from the experience. read more

I visited Jane the other day while cafe hopping and knew I had to come back after my experience here. At around afternoon on a Monday it was not too busy with a few customers, and the atmosphere was not too noisy while still pretty lively. I ordered at the counter and got the walnut and fig bread for $8, which was pretty reasonable to me given the generous portion. I didn't have to wait too long to receive my order, and there were plenty of tables open. The food itself was delicious, I love the flavor combination of ricotta, honey, and chopped walnuts. The toasted Jane bread with all the seeds/grains/nuts inside made it extra nice and fun to eat. There was a generous amount of ricotta, it was very well balanced, and I loved the textures. I was super satisfied and I'm already planning what I want to order next time I come. I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did, and I will definitely be back to try more food since everyone around me was having bowls and bigger dishes. I was able to stay productive here for a long time as well. read more
Stopped by here on a Tuesday afternoon and I ordered the "Combo It" where you can choose a salad and the option of soup or a sandwich! I got the Asian Chicken salad and Jane's Club (with multigrain bread). I also ordered a matcha latte. I liked having the "Combo It" option because it was only $20 which is actually quite a deal! The Jane's Club was delicious - essentially a turkey BLT with cheddar cheese and avocado aioli. The combo came with a full size sandwich :). The Asian Chicken Salad was also a decent size portion and I'm glad they didn't skimp on the amount of chicken; the Asian ginger dressing gave the salad a zesty taste. The matcha latte was decent, nothing too out of the ordinary taste-wise. There are two floors to this place and some people stay here on their computers so it gives a cafe feel. There's a good amount of seating but because the space is a bit compact, the place looks smaller. The workers here were friendly and nice. Would definitely recommend stopping by here for some brunch or coffee :) read more

Tomato Basil Mozzarella was rich (get it on sourdough!) and the green smoothie was filling (becomes grainy if you let it settle. Food was ready quickly. I love Jane! read more
I'm a fan of Jane The Bakery but never caught on that they have a cafe. Seriously, I'm constantly on Upper Fillmore & I assumed their sign was signaling yet another upscale (unaffordable) women's clothing store. Once I bought a clue, it took another minute to find a time when the place wasn't crowded. I almost turned away when I noticed they had a loft with additional chairs. Warm day, so it was pretty stuffy, but I enjoyed my little getaway, just me & my newspaper. Today's goal was Avocado Toast. Out of the 30 some toasts I've tried in the last couple of months, I'd rank Jane in the top ten. The bread was excellent, although only crispy on the edges, making it difficult to eat with my hands. (yeah, I'm a heathen). The mash was generous, egg poached to perfection, but minus a point for the pickled onions. Normally, I'd give a thumbs up to any pickled vegetable topping, but these onions were so vinegar-forward they overpowered the avocado. I'll definitely be back but will order something else. The menu looks inviting. No regrets. read more
I wanted a sandwich in a good area and this hit the spot. Soft baguette bread with chicken curry flavoring was delicious. The flavor was deep and not bland at all. Also wasn't too heavy. I wanted a side salad and for an upgrade I can get a custom one so I picked Caesar and it was delicious without too much dressing. I wanted tea and the herbal tea was fresh tea leaves too. Plenty of seating and quick service but no laptops. I wanted to work there so I went somewhere else. read more

Lots of interior seating, but no free wifi :( Got the almond butter protein smoothie & banana bread and both were good! Both were not too sweet. Banana bread is a thick slice and not too dry, with a lovely caramelized edge. The smoothie was $9 and really filling, and had slightly gritty texture from the almonds. Service was very friendly; it also gets really loud inside so bring headphones if you plan to work. read more
It was extremely packed on a Sunday morning and there's minimal seating however my group of 3 managed to grab a table. We ordered iced lattes, the egg panini, chicken rice bowl, and turkey panini. Everything tasted great and came out quickly. read more

The Warm Quinoa Bowl on a rainy day was strong enough to give Jane an additional star. The food still suffers from relatively bland flavors and questionable ratios (a glut of sweet potato and a dearth of dressing), but the vegetables were well cooked and the idea of a warm salad is perfect for SF gloom. When kale is bae but you want to get cozy, this is just the thing. The service is very friendly although the wait time feels more like table service than counter service. I recommend getting a table upstairs; it's a nice escape from the bustle of pastry acquisition on the ground floor. read more

Is it normal to toss to-go salads with dressing or include it on the side? I recently asked for it on the side and they told me that dressing is always put on the side for to-go salads but then it came tossed...
I think it's normally on the side. Since they made an error, I would tell them. Perhaps they'll comp you a new salad or give you a refund?
