After graduating from college, I decided to take my dream vacation and go to Vietnam. However since I have never traveled to Asia before, I decided to play it safe and talk with a travel agent. I went to First Class Travel with high hopes but sadly had a very disappointed experience. I wanted to get an idea of how much a flight cost from Chicago to Da Nang. Hilariously, I was informed that it would cost at least $2,500 for a connected flight from Chicago to Seoul and Da Nang. Having again traveled most of my life, I knew that didn't make much sense. While the travel agent said that was my only option. I looked up an American airline flight from Chicago to Da Nang with a 1 hour stop in Tokyo for $1,500. This travel agency wanted me to spend $1,000 MORE. Not only that, they would not have even booked the flight unless I booked a resort or hotel while I was in Da Nang. They also added that it was my fault that the flight options weren't as open because of the dates that I took off. And that if it was them they would ask their employer to just chance the vacation dates that I requested months in advance to make this trip work. They also had to say "Well Vietnam is an odd place to go to. I don't know why you would want to go there." Not only is this inappropriate but it's none of their business why I want to go there. So I left First class travel and did my own research. Bought my own plane ticket $1,000 cheaper and did airbnb and got a lovely beach villa for $25 a day.I had a wonderful time on my dream vacation. My advice. There is not point going to a travel agency. All the information you need is online. If you need advice on travel, ask people who have traveled there. The best way to describe First Class travel is: If you want something done right do it yourself!

Mostly stuff reclaimed from decades gone by and redesigned with some kind of flair. There's generally a theme to the different storefronts: women's vintage clothing, funny and lovey-dovey sayings regarding dogs and cats, plastic and silk flowers, dairy and farm, sarcastic sayings, whiskey barrel designs for the men dragged into this place, etc. My wife and I found a whimsical chip and dip bowl. It was nice and will replace one of the blander versions we have at home. Truthfully, there were quite a bit of items that were perfect housewarming gifts and gifts for people who have specific decor tastes. It's also a decent place to just kill some time browsing through all the stuff people have created to get your own creative juices flowing.

Barbie and Jamee in the front office are equally as incredible. They are always welcoming, kind and willing to help with anything we need. From the moment we walk through the doors, we are greeted with smiles that make us feel at home. What truly stood out during our tour is they know every single family and child that comes through their door. After these years, Friendship House truly feels like an extension of our family. Leaving your children in someone else's care is never easy, but they have made that trust come naturally. Even though we are not Greek, we've found the most welcoming and inclusive community here--about 20% of the students aren't Greek, and yet everyone is embraced as family. One of the things I've appreciated most, especially when my children were younger, is how naturally they formed relationships with older students. It's a unique environment where kids of all ages interact, and there's a strong culture of mutual respect and kindness across grade levels. Our children take Greek every day and have become impressively fluent--it's amazing to see how confident they are speaking a new language! The class sizes are small, which allows for personalized attention, and the teachers and administrators are truly exceptional--nurturing, dedicated, and highly focused on each child's growth. It's a close-knit community that really supports both students and families. There are plenty of opportunities for involvement, from after-school activities and enriching field trips to school-wide efforts that teach the importance of giving back. Most importantly, the school keeps its focus where it belongs--on strong academics, character development, and traditional values that help shape well-rounded, grounded children. The 2 adults and 2 kids had a 12 hour day on going to the Dominican Republic , we asked if this could be changed , the answer was no. The return flight was going to be 6 hours we were able to change that. I advised her that my wife couldn't do stairs and if there was an elevator in the building we were good with the room she had given us. She said: I'm in contact with the resort and doing the best I can for you. We were told that that the buildings did not have an elevator, and that she would get us a room on the first floor with a pool. The added cost was $500.00 , every building did have an elevator. She talks a great game but did not make any effort to look for what I requested, and another $500.00 for the vacation that was already more than the budget that she was given
