Let me start by saying that the restaurant is lovely and we were greeted warmly by staff on arrival. Our server was delightful, thankfully. The food, though, was not as good as expected. Our friend ordered the steak salad, and the beef was extremely tough and not really appetizing. My friend's wife ordered the chicken potpie, but she was disappointed. The food and service were good, but the pricing structure was disappointing. The bill included a 3% fee, a 20% service charge for staff, state tax, and then we were still prompted to leave a tip. At that point, it feels like customers are being asked to directly cover staff wages. Shouldn't restaurants be responsible for paying their employees transparently? read more

This is an exceptional place! I can not recommend it enough. The food is INCREDIBLE. This place is incredible for ambiance. Set in a former post office - kind of historical with the whole prohibition era, it has a feminine European flair. I've had a few visits and I prefer sitting not far from the fountain in the first room. The menu contains items you may not find elsewhere such as goat cheese croquettes or the toasted hazelnut wedge salad (super yummy with blue cheese, raisins, bacon, and grilled whole romaine.) Entrées a bit expensive and fit for a special occasion. Most bang for your buck picking one of many appetizers and a yummy salad. Brunch gives you a ton more options! Reservations are best. Their cocktail list is impressive and do try the Sinful Martini (if you are a fan of chocolate and coffee, you'll be hooked.) read more

La Grande is tucked away in an alley in downtown Stuart. You'll have to seriously look for it. The atmosphere is charming, French meets shabby chic. There are 2 menus, lunch/brunch and dinner. Our server was wonderful. My friend and I were at the table for a long time since we hadn't seen each other in quite a while. She never rushed us, and checked in with us at appropriate intervals. The shrimp and crab cakes are really good. Lots of seafood and minimal filler. The grilled cheese was pretty good too. You'll find lots of options on the wine list. There is a daytime happy hour that includes most of the wines. We loved that. La Grande is a nice break from beachy bar food. It's enjoyable and a little different. read more

10/10 from start to finish. The staff was incredibly kind and made us feel completely comfortable--like we were right at home. I called ahead to ask if they allowed dogs since I had my mini dachshund with me, and they were beyond welcoming. They even reserved a table that would be comfortable for us, including my dog and any other guests. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly. At one point, I stepped out for a minute, and when I returned, the pianist was chatting with my parents--then, completely by heart, he played their wedding song. Later in the night, he played another special song. I'm not sure if he knew how meaningful it was based on their conversation or if it was just a beautiful coincidence, but either way, it made the night even more special. My parents are moving to the area this summer and already plan to come back as often as possible. We haven't had an experience this great in a long time. The service was so exceptional that I almost forgot to mention the food--almost. The food was just as incredible, if not better, which says a lot. Had brunch here the other day with a couple of friends. We were there pretty early for a Sunday so we sat right away. It can be a little challenging to find this little gem. It's down in an alleyway. The food was very good. We all had shrimp and grits. Grits were nice and creamy and had little bit of texture. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The drinks were on point too. I had a couple of bloody Marys and my friends were drinking mimosas. They have happy hour where you can get mimosas and bloody Marys for around 6.50 or you can choose bottomless for $25 with a limit of a 2-hour stay. The only issue I had was with the creme brulee dessert. I don't believe it set properly. The manager Christine took care of it right away for us. Upon entering the Post Office Arcade on Osceola, it feels like you have walked into an old world! The decor is ornate and ostentatious. It's huge inside. The food was presented deliciously. We had the Breakfast Burrito and Waffles and Chicken. Very tasty. The price is towards the high end. This is a good place for visitors and special occasions. This place being in downtown Stuart is a major turnoff because the parking is a nightmare, and if you miss a turn, you'll be taken round and round just to get back on the right track. read more

We had a wonderful brunch at La Grande Martier. The food was great and the service was good. Unfortunately, they added a 20% "Bottomless Gratuity" to our check, and they did not inform us that the tip was included. My husband checked the bill to ensure it included what we ordered , but he did not notice that this "tip" was included. He ended up tipping our server an additional $40.00. If a tip is included on a bill, the server should let a customer know. read more

The waitress/ server seemed stressed, rushing around, with a surley affect. Before the restaurant: I booked a reservation through Yelp for the day before Mother's Day for brunch. I was even sent a confirmation through a text and I confirmed my reservation. I called about something unrelated and I was told I did not have a reservation. However, who ever I spoke to was accommodating and very helpful and still got me a reservation! (For a later time. But given the weekend it was, I was happy that they could do something for myself and my family.) The setting: I'm so happy I brought my mom here for brunch to kick off Mother's Day weekend. This place is super cute on the inside. Quirky, due to its layout but charming in that it's a repurpose space (it used to be the post office.) Some of the dining area is situated to feel as though you are in a covered opened courtyard, with a fountain and lots of lighting. Some of it almost feels as though your at an older house. They also have a speakeasy and a full bar on the back. While there they had two musicians playing live music. A mix of contemporary/Jazzy lounge music. The Food: Spectacular! We ordered the Buratta for an appetizer. (We weren't disappointed, wished we ordered two ). My mom ordered the Sampler Platter. (It was so much food!) all of it she raves about. Her favorite was the goat croquettes. My dad ordered the cheeseburger which was huge and great quality. My niece ordered a chicken salad. Which she enjoyed. We came here out of a fluke because the kids were hungry and it was the only place I got a reservation. The place is so beautiful. And the music is amazing. They were accommodating to us having kids. I'll say it's not the type of place you want to bring little ones cause there is a lot of glass everywhere. Gotta keep those eyes open and start removing things from their reach. We ordered the margarita flatbread and my 3 year old and 15 month old ate it all up. Their Brie was great too. They made excellent drinks. We went for an early dinner on NYE. Hostess was great and promptly seated. Everyone is really nice, server was Renata she was great. I had an old fashioned which was yummy even with the missing cherry. Husb Started with French onion soup it was not even lukewarm, they replaced. I had the special of escargot, beautifully prepared; very tender and nice and garlicky. They provide a complimentary bread, delicious! Husb had the tile fish Oscar with black garlic mashed and veggies, he loved it! (It was a special tht nite) I had the rum coconut mahi, saffron rice, veggies and coconut sauce. The sauce was great, the rest just tasted off to me. We had creme brûlée for dessert, one of the best cremes maybe could have brûléed a bit more, but the inside was so good we didn't care. Met a group of 8 who were so nice and fun. The inside of the restaurant looks like some ceiling renovation happening, exposed beams and insulation, the large ornament over our table was dusty, yep sorry I looked up. If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought I stumbled off Osceola St. in Stuart into a wormhole that deposited me in the French Quarter. Everything about the ambience in this place screams New Orleans. It's just beautiful. I've been in Port St Lucie for 4 years, and just discovered this place. My wife dropped in for brunch and came back raving about it. Man....am I late to the party. Le Grande Martier is Le Bomb! Love this joint, Far and away the best restaurant in the area. The staff is terrific. (Linda...you had me at hello). The room is right out of an Anne Rice novel, and the food is on par with the best I've had anywhere in the country. The shrimp and grits, short ribs, onion soup...just insanely great. Whoever is in the kitchen is just killin' it. Perfect old fashioned and French 75 from the bar too. I always have an amazing brunch at La Martier! The vibe there is just perfect, and their menu is a brunch lover's dream. The whole experience, from the friendly service to the cozy atmosphere, makes this place my go-to spot for breakfast bliss. My top 5 favorites on the menu are; Baked artichoke and Spinach & Feta dip.. you can't go wrong with this one. Following the Truffle Burrata, between the two.. I'd say they're tied. Super cute woman owned local spot! The inside is very cute and classy--elegantly set tables my grandma was impressed. A little off the path so keep an eye out. Staff were lovel, attentive and responsive to feedback (one of our eggs was slightly over done and they kindly comped one of our drinks). The food was absolutely delicious.
