Reptile enthusiasts or anyone looking into getting reptiles, look no further. This is the place to come to. Lucas and staff are very knowledgeable of reptiles. Their prices are fair from the reptiles themselves to cages and feeders like mice, crickets, worms etc. Always willing to help and offer good advice. I come there often for feeders for my snake and geckos.

Even though it's called La Habra PETS this place is definitely a reptile focused shop (and I guess Funko pops too since they have a corner selling those as well). Yes, as some other reviews have stated here, this location is a bit dusty and ages, but I feel like that adds to the charm and the fact that you can tell that it's a community staple. There are lots of pictures of young children, who I am sure are all adults now, with some of their reptiles, artwork for sale/on display, and lots of books and other affects that would indicate that the owners/shop's history is deeply dedicated to herpetology. The workers there were attentive and helpful and there are lots of reptiles here that I haven't seen elsewhere, such as the pink soft shell turtle that they have in the front. They have a slew of geckos, tortoises, and bearded dragons (of all ages and sizes), as well as iguanas and tegus. Lots of feeders available too.

    Filthy. I mean filthy.

I brought my family here from Rancho Santa Margarita because we needed some feeders for our BD and wanted to check them out. That's a 45 minute drive. I saw the 4 star rating and good pictures from Yelpers, so we thought we would love this place. We were so wrong. This place must be reviewed and frequented by people who don't know any better. The place was so dusty, disorganized, with thick dust everywhere. This place is filthy. When I say filthy, I mean disgusting. The floor looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped in what looked like forever. The counters were just as dirty covered with who knows what. If you look up in the aisles you'll see thick strands of cobwebs everywhere. We literally thought to ourselves that there had to be some large resident spiders in the store just roaming around. The glass tanks with reptiles on the left were so dirty and splattered, that it looked gross and neglected. All the enclosures looked like there was no cleaning or maintaining them. I wish I took photos of those but I didn't even think of taking pics until I was almost out of there. There was a ton of bearded dragons there that were so thin and sickly looking, as well as black bearding from the stress. The geckos were also emaciated. Their tails are supposed to be plump but it was much smaller than they should be. The poor reptiles were in enclosures that had nothing to climb or hide in. The feeder rats/mice were in the back for all to see. They're overcrowded, fighting each other, looking sickly. It was sad. I've never been to a reptile store that had live feeder rodents out in the open for everyone to see. From our experience they're usually under the counter or hidden in the back away from everyone's eyes. I asked multiple questions and it was met with an "I have no idea" look on the face. I asked what the names of a couple specific BDs were but he had absolutely no clue. He answered with "I don't know the names of the breeds. We just breed them." That doesn't sound like a good responsible breeder that cares about the animals at all. I don't understand how this place has 4 stars. I really don't. I can't support a place that doesn't take good care of their animals from feeders to actual pets. I love to support small businesses but I can't come back here until they clean this place up and treat the animals better. I Really hope they do that soon because this place was absolutely depressing as a reptile owner/animal lover. Please PLEASE do your homework before buying animals here.

The owners so nice along with the workers. They helped me get everything for my new leopard gecko and made sure I have the right materials. :)

The staff at La Habra Pets was awesome. My daughter had wanted a snake for some time. They allowed her to hold several snakes and pick which one she wanted. They are extremely knowledgeable about snakes and all other reptiles. They set us up with everything we needed such as an enclosure, lighting system, water bowl and feeding instructions. They have all the items needed for your reptile. It was so easy. Thanks!

Our experience was great. They were helpfu and knowledgeable. We went for my sons 7th birthday. We left with a bearded dragon, all his need and knowledge on how to care for our new family member. Would recommend!

5/5! Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable (: we recently lost our corn snake from an irresponsible breeder, but La Habra Pets had some of the healthiest looking babies I've seen! Fair prices, and a huge variety of other critters if you're looking for reptiles. Our little guy has been doing great, no issues with feeding him frozen (they feed them live pinkies). Everything you need for your reptiles, tanks, treated branches, bedding, heat sources, feeders, etc. The drive out from riverside was definitely worth it!

I I have been coming her for 35 years and now my kids have bought their first reptile here! It was my son's 6 birthday and I got him a bearded dragon and he absolutely loves it, we all do! He is such a child lizard and I could not be happier! This place is just plain awesome!

Don't let this place (or the bad reviews) fool you! It may not be the corporate pet store you're used to but this place has something those pet companies dont - (aside from a huge selection of reptiles) - knowledgeable and caring staff. I've come here a few times throughout the years just to browse. When I got serious about owning a reptile, I came in to look and the owner (?), Chin, answered all my questions and gave advice even though I wasnt ready to purchase yet. Most pet stores dont know much about their animals if it isnt on a pamphlet for them to hand you. I looked around some local places but decided to make my purchases here. I'm glad I did, I've learned a lot from La Habra Pets and any time I've had any problems with my pet, Chin and his staff are always helpful and friendly. We come here instead of the closer "Pet Co.'s" for the interesting selection of animals, the customer service, and to check out whats new in the store. Feigning death beetles, Jackson Chameleons, Centipedes, I've seen them all here! We've even seen other customers bringing in their exotic pets. Everyone who works here genuinely treats their customers and their pets like friends. I'll definitely be back to buy a snake when I get the courage to own a snake ^-^ Meanwhile, see you at the store when its time to refill the crickets!

There's street parking and some private parking lots nearby. Staff is super friendly and helpful and they have a good selection of reptiles as well as some invertebrates (tarantulas and jumping spiders). I got to see a large tegu there and based on the enclosure and pictures, it seems that the owner has a rhino iguana! Neat! Lots of bearded dragons of varying ages and morphs are available. They have leopard geckos, tortoises, and ball pythons, of course. Also in various ages and morphs. There was also a blue tongue skink that I was eyeing and considering...very fairly priced too! They also have some reptiles you don't commonly see either such as Tokay geckos, various chameleons, tree frogs and dart frogs, Giant Day geckos, and some beautiful melanistic jeweled lacerta lizards! Based on pictures on Yelp they've had uromastyx and fire belly skinks too. I believe I got a chance to speak to the owner and he's super friendly and knows his stuff. They've had crocodile skinks too! One of the few places nearby that sells silk worms as feeders ($1.50 each, great treat feeder) and have fair prices for their other feeders as well ($1 - 12-15 crickets depending on size, etc.). I got some silk worms, super worms, and crickets, but they also have mice/pinkie feeders, meal worms, dubias, wax worms, etc. I gotta say that their super worms are very SUPER. Huge and juicy, definitely more sizeable than the ones I get online. I can see that there's oats and corn in their food/substrate too so you know they're nicely gut loaded. They take Zelle here too and they do TikTok lives for their social media. My new go to spot for some treats for my beardie son, Sambal and I'm keeping an eye on their social media if some new cool herps come in!

My first recent try was to go the traditional route - heater, filter, bottles of water conditioner & beneficial bacteria, etc. etc. - when I unexpectedly happened upon an eye-opening You-Tube vid about the Walstad method (less homework & a more natural environment, the way God intended). So I returned all that other gear & am starting from scratch. Fernando eased My initial anxiety arriving as a total tank newbie, and gave Me a tour of the various low-maintenance plants I could start My nitrogen cycling with. Nolan - the Captain of this aquarium supplies ship - answered every one of My questions with patience & grace, did not talk down to Me or make Me feel stupid, and I left feeling happily hopeful that I might actually be successful in creating a fish-friendly safe & healthy environment. I am already envisioning My future fishy tenants, plus a snail & a sucker fish or two. Wish Me luck!! :-)

I've been to tongs, 8888, etc, trust me Nolan's is super clean. I came here for plants, they have a very large selection!!! My first time here was a few days ago - I got Hornwort, bolbitus, and dwarf water lettuce. They were all thriving. Hornwort fluffy and full! Also Thursday's is 25% off plants !! I came again today and brought a friend and she was also so happy we stayed there for like an hour just looking at everything. They have multiple rooms and a lot of tanks. The store seems small but it's not ; there's a lot of variety of fish, plants, and shrimp. Today there were red root floaters, one of the employees actually grew them - they were so healthy and super red I had to buy 3 cups !! I got more dwarf water lettuce bc my axolotl loved hanging in the roots. Staff today was super nice and helpful. There were 2 guys. It was extremely busy when I came like 10 people and they were helping everyone collaboratively. I hate when an employee only focuses on 1 customer who takes forever thinking and observing and there's a ton of ppl waiting. It wasn't like that here, the guy would answer a question and move on to another client. Also when the guy was fishing out some shrimp he was still talking to other customers and answering questions. I loved the vibe here. I will def be returning!!!!!
