One of our favorite go to places. Service is always on point, along with food being delicious as always. The inside look's upgraded since our last visit. The combination of the tacos and enchiladas were great, and good accompaniment of the rice and beans. We ordered the fajita for two. There was a good volume of steak and we could not eat it all. A+. Chips and salsa were good. If you are going for the margarita, I was disappointed. I've been on a seemingly never ending search for good Mexican food in the Lafayette area and have turned up short...until now. Everything about this place feels authentic to me. Granted, I've never been to Mexico but in my head this feels like Mexico. Major vibes here. I love the dimly lit space and the loud Spanish music playing. Our waiter was so patient and accommodating with our indecisive party of four-all first timers here. We started with the Chorizo Queso (comes with corn or flour tortillas) and an order of salsa and chips. I could not tell you how the salsa was because I honestly could not tear myself away from the Chorizo Queso. I mean, holy hell. You need to order this as soon as humanly possible. Just do it. We all loved it-including my very picky friend. For my entree I chose the Spicy Shrimp Burrito. It was good and the shrimp were falling out of it but it definitely wasn't spicy. By far, without a doubt, one of the top 10 best fajitas I've ever had. A large portion and a very nice price of 10.99 for the lunch portion. Easily could feed two. I ate here many times when I was on business in Lafayette. There are many different locations, this was the one I always ended up at. Unfortunately it seems they are "therefore the money"instead of caring for the customer. Each time upon entering and leaving it was never greeted with a warm welcome. I am so disappointed to have to update a review when it's not for a positive reason. I have ALWAYS loved La Hacienda in Broussard... until now. To begin with the salsa recipe has changed, it now tastes like tomato sauce. We had a new waiter who was 3 days new, and sort of confused. I'm not upset with him, things are tough with a new job but where is his trainer? He was struggling enough that he came back 4 times to take our order. Again... where is the manager? We were 1 of 3 tables in the entire restaurant being served... and I haven't even gotten to the best part! Food comes out wrong... like missing 1 persons food completely, another plate was a complete wrong order... As for my food... I order La Cazulada EVERY TIME, normally it is enough for 3 meals for me but last night the portion size was pathetic! So we start eating... my son who ordered the Mini Volcunito found a medium length white hair in his food. I stopped the manager and simply told him I'd like the dish taken off my bill and that it wasn't a big deal. I requested an extra plate and we could share mine. He refused to take it off my bill stating that no one in the kitchen had that color hair and never brought an extra plate. Fine. Then for the rest of the meal continued to walk back and forth past our booth with a snide look on his face making us all feel uncomfortable. I finally asked our waiter if they were under new management and he said yes... that's him (the rude manager I mentioned before). He also told us that we were the 2nd complaint today during his shift alone!
