    7 layer salad

The place is an awesome place for drinks or if you need a loud popping atmosphere! The service is friendly and attentive. The biggest flaw in this restaurant is the price in relation to the food. The prices are double of all other local Mexican restaurants, but the food is equivalent in portions. The crabmeat seafood enchiladas were fishy and the $50 ribeye fajitas had no seasoning. The chips and salsa are good. Yes I will come back but mainly because we like to have drinks and be in a fun atmosphere.

Quite possibly the worst Mexican food I've ever had in my life. Went on Memorial Day weekend, the place was super crowded, busy, so I thought the food would be great ...boy was I wrong. The rice and beans were awful. How do you mess up the rice and beans? Maybe the main chef was out of town or something but this place was not worth it at all. I got the Superior Platter. The only thing I ate was the taco, even though the shell was stale. The rest I took three bites of my food. The chicken looked like it was straight out of a can, the fajita steak tasted like barbecue? which I was not expecting that flavor. Just a mess. The way the waiter didn't care lol just took my plate away.. didn't even offer to say, "Oh, did you not like it? Can I get you something else?" He must be used to it, I guess. Anyway, I just asked for the check and we left. Will not be back, a shame cause this place is so beautiful, but the food does not reflect that. Should have went to Pedro's :/

I stopped by here before heading back to my hometown. I sat at the bar I ordered an appetizer the CHIMICHANGA which was delicious. My entree was a bacon hamburger. It was good my food came out in a timely manner. The ambiance was real laid back.

    The virgin margarita

Food was great, but the drinks were the best part about the restaurant 100% 10 stars it was amazing. 100% recommend the virgin margarita as you can see in the picture 100% did not have 10 stars.

I had the opportunity to have lunch here with my wife. The food was good. The atmosphere was great. Very nice decor and ambiance. I loved the wood floors. Service was great. Unfortunately, our experience, though good, was tarnished by the price. Our order consisted of steak fajitas, crawfish enchiladas, and queso. One diet coke and a water. Bill = $72 (tip not included). Was it good? Yes.. good for the money? No way. Why so expensive guys? I'm not asking for Pancho pricing, but goodness.

This has become a regular date night spot for us. Always great, fast service and delicious food! Love the decor and ambiance. It is more upscale mexican food so that reflects via $$$. I usually get the pulled pork carnitas on corn tortillas and my husband likes any version of their fajitas. He loves their white queso with ground meat too. So many things to try! Salsa is also really good.

What a beautiful restaurant! The decorations and ambience remind me a lot of Pappasito's in Texas with a Louisiana touch. They've, clearly, spared no expense when it comes to the construction of this tremendous building. However, I wish they would've spent more time on their food. The salsa is excellent. I really enjoyed the Superior White Cheese Queso w/Beef too. But the entrees didn't live up to our expectations. The "Grande" Chicken Quesadilla (7 pieces) was dry and under flavored. Mesquite grilled chicken isn't good in Mexican food. The chicken should be shredded and slow cooked in tomatoes, onions, and chiles. It all seems to be white meat chicken too, which just makes it dry out easier. It was not as good as most quesadillas I could get in town for less money. The beef enchilada was good. I like the freshness of the sauce that was on top. The chicken enchilada suffered from the same, strange, mesquite taste. The cheese enchilada was fine but didn't have any of the chile con carne I expected, since it comes that way if you order just the cheese enchiladas. The beans were the blandest, refried (?) beans I've ever tried. A true fail on the beans. I saw a lady next to me return her tortilla soup too. Her friend mentioned she didn't care for her steak fajitas. I didn't taste either, so I can't comment. The service was excellent, particularly, for a new restaurant. Our bartender was very nice. I am going to try Superior again for brunch. I may go from time to time because I enjoy the ambience. But I will probably stick to brunch or appetizers because the Tex Mex items just didn't do it for me.

An Absolute Hidden Gem for Authentic Flavor in Lafayette! If…read moreyou are tired of the same old, watered-down Tex-Mex and want a meal that hits you with incredible, vibrant flavor, you need to get to La Papa Loca. This place is easily one of the best spots in town for genuine Mexican and Honduran comfort food. The absolute star of the show is their namesake dish, The Papa Loca. Forget everything you think you know about baked potatoes. They take a massive, perfectly baked potato, load it up with rich butter, melted mozzarella, fresh cream, and your choice of beautifully charred, seasoned meats like al pastor or arrachera (skirt steak), all served up with crisp tortilla chips. It sounds like a wild combination, but it is pure, comforting magic. Everything else on the menu hits the mark, too: The Street Tacos: Served the right way with fresh cilantro, diced onions, and incredible homemade salsas that pack a beautiful punch. The Gorditas & Tortas: Crisp, fluffy, and stuffed generously with perfectly seasoned meats that are never dry. The Atmosphere & Drinks: The vibe is incredibly welcoming and down-to-earth. Plus, if you catch their happy hour, their 2-for-1 margaritas and micheladas are the perfect refreshing pairing to the savory, rich food.  The staff is always friendly, the portions are massive for the price, and the food comes out hot and fast. Whether you are hitting up the Johnston Street location or grabbing food to go, La Papa Loca delivers an authentic, satisfying meal every single time. Don't skip this place--it's a local treasure.
