Chili rejenos

Stopped in for lunch last weekend while out and about with our realtor. We tried the house margarita that was pretty good. Our realtor is a self proclaimed margarita "snob" and she said it was good! Haha. Even comes in a nice frosty mug. The menu isn't huge but there ar lots of options. Portions are good sized and prices are good. Beware chips and salsa are not unlimited!

Great lunch stop! We ordered off the menu (next time I would try their lunch specials-the tacos & fajitas looked & smelled amazing!). Loved their salsa! Ridiculous amount paid for a MUG of excellent imported Mexican beer - only $3.64 plus tax/tip! If I wasn't stuffed from my lunch, I would have had the flan for dessert! Great service from Hector-gracias!

Very delicious and fast! Love the hot sauce and chips! Had the cheese enchiladas beans and rice. Always good.

Al Pastor fajita lunch special

Food is overpriced and just ok. There was an Al Pastor fajita lunch special. My husband and I were going to share it, but the wait staff insisted that we needed to get it for 2. We only ate about a 1/3 of it and took to rest home. It tasted good but did not have the Al Pastor taste that my husband expected. He also ordered an ice tea. The meal did come with complimentary chips and salsa. He really liked the salsa and the chips. We were blown away when our bill came to $32 before taxes and tip. We aren't in this area often, but we won't ever eat here again.

The food options are great, the menu recently had a makeover, so has even more to offer, the ceviche is top-notch, and the bar stocks are fantastic range of mid and top-tier bottles. The interior is nicely decorated with gorgeous lighting and manages to be the perfect blend of family, friendly, a great date spot as well as a place to scratch the burrito itch. Every staff member has been friendly, patient and responsive, regardless of them being slammed or slow.

First impressions were great. The decor and ambiance were REALLY nice. All of the food that was coming out looked great. We were seated right away, and it was basically downhill from there. The service was painfully slow. Every time our server left our table, it would take her about 10 minutes to come back. She didn't seem to have any other tables, that I could tell. The restaurant was not busy, but she was usually nowhere to be found. The chips were REALLY stale. We asked for fresh chips, but they just came back with more stale chips. Our entrees arrived BEFORE our appetizers. Our server had given the wrong ceviche order to the kitchen. When they did bring out our apps, it seemed like the fish had not had enough time to "cook" in the acid. A lot of it was still really raw. We took it home and ate it later, and it was much better. We also ordered the Mexican street corn, which had the SMALLEST kernels of corn on it that I've ever seen or eaten. I was especially disappointed about that because I'd been craving it all day. For entrees, my boyfriend ordered the steak super burrito, and was reasonably happy. It is a MASSIVE burrito. I ordered the nacho cheese burrito. I feel like my dish would've been a lot better if the chicken were shredded. Instead, it was hard, dry little nuggets of chicken. Overall, I was super disappointed by the whole experience. I would maybe go back here for drinks, because it is such a cute place, but I found the food and the service to be really disappointing.

We found Las Carretas Mexican Restaurant in Gainesville through a last-minute Facebook Valentine's…read moreDay event, and WOW what a surprise! The event said no reservations needed, so we showed up not realizing how popular it would be. The place was PACKED with a line out the door! Even so, we only waited about 25 minutes for a table on Valentine's Day, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering the crowd. We went specifically for their Valentine's special: 2 margaritas, fajitas for two, and dessert, such a great deal! The margaritas were delicious. We ordered the Rita sampler and the blueberry margarita tasted like blueberry pie, so fresh, organic, and absolutely yummy. We also ordered homemade guacamole, which was delectable, paired with fresh, crispy homemade chips. Our fajitas included steak, pork, chicken, and shrimp, and everything was cooked to perfection. The flavors were incredible!!! And can we talk about the restaurant itself? It's HUGE! It felt like one of those multi-level Times Square NYC restaurants, with multiple floors and even outside patio seating. It was like a magic trick walking through it! Our waitress, Lia, was fantastic, attentive, helpful, and so sweet despite how busy it was. The staff worked incredibly hard all night and it showed. Plentiful parking, amazing food, great atmosphere. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem we didn't even know existed in town. Thank you for making our Valentine's Day special after a long day of yard work

I really liked the vegetarian trio course and the salsa bar. They make their own salad dressing that was my favorite. We tried the margarita sampler it was fun and good presentation.
