Not all Salsa Cocina locations are created equally, but Palatka manages to have an absolute gem of a team running this spot. The food options are great, the menu recently had a makeover, so has even more to offer, the ceviche is top-notch, and the bar stocks are fantastic range of mid and top-tier bottles. The interior is nicely decorated with gorgeous lighting and manages to be the perfect blend of family, friendly, a great date spot as well as a place to scratch the burrito itch. After reading all of the positive reviews on this place, I was really excited to eat here! But after our experience last night, we'll probably go elsewhere for Mexican food next time. First impressions were great. The decor and ambiance were REALLY nice. All of the food that was coming out looked great. We were seated right away, and it was basically downhill from there. The service was painfully slow. Every time our server left our table, it would take her about 10 minutes to come back. She didn't seem to have any other tables, that I could tell. The restaurant was not busy, but she was usually nowhere to be found. The chips were REALLY stale. We asked for fresh chips, but they just came back with more stale chips. Our entrees arrived BEFORE our appetizers. Our server had given the wrong ceviche order to the kitchen. When they did bring out our apps, it seemed like the fish had not had enough time to "cook" in the acid. A lot of it was still really raw. We took it home and ate it later, and it was much better. We also ordered the Mexican street corn, which had the SMALLEST kernels of corn on it that I've ever seen or eaten. I was especially disappointed about that because I'd been craving it all day. For entrees, my boyfriend ordered the steak super burrito, and was reasonably happy. It is a MASSIVE burrito. I ordered the nacho cheese burrito. I feel like my dish would've been a lot better if the chicken were shredded. Instead, it was hard, dry little nuggets of chicken. Overall, I was super disappointed by the whole experience. I would maybe go back here for drinks, because it is such a cute place, but I found the food and the service to be really disappointing. read more

The restaurant has taken a bad turn. This was my wife's and my two or three times a week lunch spot...when they had staff that wanted to take care of guest. We went in today, we were seated, we saw two different servers walk by, we sat for another ten minutes (listening to what ended up being the staff in the corner talking and laughing. My wife got up to ask if there was a server and the response she received was so ridiculous i shouldn't even bother to share it, but I will...one server looked at the hostess (who seated us before going back to chat with the server) and said "She said she meant to tell me I had a table, but she forgot.). It was at that point we left and went to another restaurant I guess we'll be finding another multi time per week lunch place. read more

Wow, simply amazing food I had to enchiladas supreme the freshness is obvious on the first bite of perfectly seasoned chicken I enjoyed every bite. My daughter had the chipotle burrito it was the biggest burrito I have ever seen and it was delicious. My other daughter had the nacho cheese burrito awesome. I had done a DoorDash for my birthday dinner. Con pollo- rice with strips of chicken adding on jalepenos cilantro and onion. All I got was some rice refuted beans and guacamole. Called and after a while spoke to the manager. That Manager is a flippin joke. Belittling me, telling me I'm wrong, the dish had been made so differently that I wouldn't recognize the only dish I have gotten for the past 2yrs!!! Mind u I have been a manager, and QA for 10yrs in my life, I know how to check bags and make sure EVERYTHING IS THERE!! He still told me I'm wrong and that my dish was there. The ambiance is clean and festive. Nice recorded music. The service is quick. Let me explain something to you, when I say the servings are HUGE the word HUGE doesn't do it justice!!!!! I had the sampler and I will continue to eat it for another two meals. I rate it delicious, a 4.2 out of 5! My wife had the black beans and grilled veggies and once again HUGE serving!!!! She said they were good too, rated the beans 4.5 and the veggies 4.5. The chips were average a 1.8 out of 5. The salsa was 3.1 out of 5. Visiting here for a few weeks on business, we had the pleasure of dining here last Saturday (group of 21 people). Jorge, the manager, graciously reserved a section of the outdoor patio for us and had chips/salsa and appetizers ready on each table when we arrived at 7pm. Our waiter handled everything with ease and we were never in need of refills (even on alcoholic drinks). I highly recommend this restaurant and this location and will happily go back anytime I'm in the area. True Mexican in Palatka. Went in for a late afternoon visit, we were greeted promptly by friendly staff members in a well decorated dining room. The patio is well spaced out with many large tables perfect for groups & parties as well as multiple 4 top tables for smaller groups. Our waitress was prompt, polite and accommodating to our requests, and she stayed on top of our drinks refills. The meals were served in epic proportions and were not lacking in flavor. Ordered online but couldn't get the food I ordered, food was burnt and had a bad taste, chips were flourery taste, will never go back.

I will not ever be coming back. Not only was our waitress Ashleigh so rushed that she couldn't ask us if we wanted an appetizer, we had to shout after her as she hurriedly rushed away after our drink order, then didn't give us straws with our alcoholic drinks, and forgot to put in our appetizer. After 20 minutes, my boyfriend asked if we would be able to get the appetizer before our food. She seemed shocked, like she forgot, then brought it out a couple minutes later. About 15 minutes later, we received dried, cold food. The cheese was hard and see through, the beans cracked if you touched them, and the meat was cold and dry. I asked them if it had been sitting out while we ate the appetizer, and my waitress said "it probably sat out a little bit, but not too long". They offered to make more beans, and then finally offered to remake the whole meal. Then offered no discount. After everything, the food wasn't great and I'm pretty sure they just reheated my food and brought it on a scolding hot plate. read more
