This review is for the location in Terminal C. It feels like it's bigger than the one we visited in…read moreTerminal A, but I'm sure they still carry the same items. I stopped in for a last minute souvenir before leaving San Juan. What I liked is that they have locally made products. The colorful ornaments from an artist named Susana López Castells caught my attention. I couldn't pass up the image of Calle de la Fortaleza in Old San Juan adorned with hanging umbrellas. It has both the Puerto Rican and American flag in the image which is exactly what I wanted. I kind of wish I had bought a tile or a magnet to go with it. The prices are definitely higher at the airport, but the service was very good. She wrapped up the ornament very well without me even asking. I'd return for more souvenirs. There's a huge variety of items including candies and snacks to take with you on the plane. Check it out when flying in or out of SJU.

Altho I wish to find instant coffee but in Puerto Rico they don't sell it, which I have learned in time lol..! I was in awe with this place but I have just landed & I need to go to my hotel to rest & plan my visit. I did end up buying some more coffee on my way back to New York City & wished I should have get it from a local store! I actually forgot & end up paying a higher price! Place is so magical, loved the colors & cultural items so much ! Prices were ridiculously higher & I expected it already, it's being inside the airport! Customer service was great, still dreaming to go go back to Puerto Rico____

For the sake of this review it important to know that I along…read morewith one of my other friends are two light skinned black women but the rest of our friend group are darker skinned black women. At first, the food was pretty okay. I got waited on and served relatively quickly. However, my darker skinned friends had to wait a longer time not just to order, but also to get their food. One of my darker skinned friends ordered three empanadas and only received two. When she tried to speak to one of the servers about getting her third empanada they refused. She said she was willing to pay for it, but they refused to serve her what she asked. Then, they said there's always a problem with "you people". Then all of a sudden they lied and said she was trying to scam them. As we're walking out, they start cursing at us and saying things like " I hope everyone except you (referring to my darker skinned friend) has a good day". The servers were overall very disrespectful, they cursed, and they were overly unprofessional. So even though the food was okay this was a horrible experience. As we were leaving, we saw two other darker skinned black women walk up to try and order. We told them about our experience and the servers started lying and saying that we are there every day and always causing problems. This was also untrue. That was the first time we've ever been to this restaurant. We walked a block down the street to wait for our car service. Then moments later, we bumped into the same dark skinned black women we saw earlier and they told us that their presence wasn't even acknowledged. So like I said even though the food was pretty okay. It wasn't good enough to be okay with the blatant colorism where it wasn't expected.

What a perfect little hidden gem right off the beach in Isla Verde. Torres' place has that "beach…read moreshack" vibe that makes you want an ice cold beer and a tostone after lounging in the sun or hitting the waves. It's a teeny spot with only about 10 seats, so you may have to wait. We were lucky to go on a cloudy day and snagged a little table. Chicken wings, pulled pork tacos, and the pork stuffed tostones are all yummy. There's an herby green sauce on them that is out of this world. Fresh and bright. Mojito was good, I'd steer clear of the margarita (seems like a mix is used). The OceanLab IPA was local and yummy.
