Good selection, great location. Quality of products - the letters on my lifeguard shirt cracked after trying it on just twice, haven't even washed it yet - but I somewhat saved it by placing parchment paper over it and ironing it. Prices were decent though. Customer service okay, the cashier for my shirt scanned this item at $27.99 even though the tag said $19.99 (there were two tags for some reason) and the cashier honored the $19.99, which was good. Overall decent and expected service and would recommend this over other souvenir stores around the La Jolla area.

Great souvenir shops for a reasonable price. They didn't have many pins so I had to go to the sister store just a few steps down from here. But they had cute magnets, shot glasses, and regular souvenirs (keychains, mugs, etc)

I didn't really spend much time in here. It looked like a tourist shop that has potential. We were not greeted upon entering or leaving and when I asked a couple of questions, it seemed I was inconveniencing the shopkeeper. Thanks, but I'll take my business somewhere where I'm appreciated. A little positive customer service goes a long way.

Let me start by saying Phil (owner) is by far the best instructor/tour guide/photographer. He is super nice, professional and polite. He explained everything well, and answered all my questions. The waves were a little too high (to my comfort) to snorkel and see sea life underwater, the water was murky, but we tried. I appreciated his confidence in me blindly. We aborted the snorkel mission but still had a great time seeing the local spots, sea lions etc. He took some great pics and was creative and fun with taking pictures. I will definitely be returning. Part 2 of my review: his shop. It was immaculate well placed, inexpensive and a great nook to find local art/crafts. Other staff were friendly, personable and helpful. I enjoyed my day even without seeing underwater sea life. He made the best out of poor water conditions. Thank you again Phil for your time, patience and kindness.

I did two different sea cave snorkeling tours with Rob and Adam. I communicated with Phil beforehand both times and he was always professional and accommodating. He runs his business with great integrity and attention to detail, ensuring everyone is taken care of. Had a great time on both tours even tho on one we faced some adverse unforeseen conditions due to ocean being a little choppy. All in all, I will always go back to La Jolla Outpost for my snorkeling needs, as they also rent out wetsuits and gear. Thank you to all the helpful staff and the great service, everyone!

Ask the Community - La Jolla Outpost

Hi! Two of my friends can't really swim. Based on my experience, they can still do snorkeling as long as they wear life jackets. Do you guys provide like jacket at the store for rental? Or you don't recommend they do snorkeling at all? Thank you!

Located in Downtown, it can be a bit of a pain to get to with all the parking and such, but it's totally worth it! Walking inside, I was immediately overwhelmed with the need to buy everything. There were gorgeous dishware, homeware, jewelry, stationery, incense, and more! If you're just getting into matcha, this is also a great place to start. They've got all your essentials, a good selection of matcha, and the cutest chawans! Best part is that everything is quite reasonable in price for the quality that you get. There were so many people visiting Seaport Village today. We approached from the Embarcadero walkway from the north. As we walked up, there is a sign that welcomes you to Seaport Village overhead. It's always very nice to see that. There are new shops and restaurants that are available. I was amazed at how many restaurants Seaport Village Now has. The Mike Hess Brewing is still there. The fish shop is still there and Mr. Moto's pizza is also still there. However, it was great to see that the shorebird had been remodeled and now is open for business over the water on the right hand side of the walkway. The highlight of our visit was walking by and seeing the Zeta restaurant now open on the walkway with views of the waterfront. Please see my review for the Zytoun restaurant. Please keep in mind that right now. Seaport Village is very, very busy with construction. Most of the businesses are still open however, several of them are in a construction area. The businesses over on the east side of Seaport Village before you get to the Sally's restaurant, are affected by the renovations. Spilled the beans coffee and Mike has tasting room are not affected, but foot traffic is affected. The town Square where they normally have music and entertainment is not affected now they have games somewhat like lawn games available in that square area, but the foot traffic is affected by the construction of the Outer building facing the marina. Ther are so many vendors here now. We actually were able to visit an art gallery, walk over the pond bridge, with ducks and pigeons, peruse through so many cute shops, check out all of the food offerings, and just enjoy the beautiful views of the water at the Embarcadero Marina Park while here. This is a wonderful walk, and with the vendors, and other sites, it ends up being an adventure.
