The road to get here is extremely steep, NARROW, fast-moving with irritated drivers, and absolutely no parking. There is also a lot of construction going on throughout the road. I really don't recommend wasting your time or gas money coming here.

I was pleasantly surprised to come across this hidden gem and realized later it's the widely acclaimed Bird Rock neighborhood. I had no idea until my spectacular discovery of the breathtaking views. First of all, we parked in front of the retail area and walked down to the ocean. Instead of parking here, you may park closer...at the end of Bird Rock Avenue. It's a dead end street with a beautiful mosaic bench that overlooks the vastness where the sky meets the sea... wow! There are steps that you can walk down to get closer to the water. I was just happy with the scenery that presented before me... If you have time, check out this scenic point. It's amazing! The birds know about this secret place!

There's a dirt and rock stairway which is uneven, to get to the cliff and vista point. Once there, you're looking downward at the cliffs, beach and ocean. The ricotta and spinach ravioli was unbelievable -- honestly one of the best pasta dishes any of us have had. The branzino was equally impressive, and that says a lot considering how much seafood we eat while traveling through coastal Italy each year. You can absolutely taste the quality of the ingredients. The owner mentioned they import their flour directly from Italy, and it definitely shows in the food. I only wish this restaurant was closer to home because I'd be here constantly. The host was so friendly when we walked up and started what was an amazing dinner with them. Our server was just the same and just such an enjoyable dining experience. It definitely gives an authentic Italian theme in the decor. Fun but not too loud. Now the food was out of the world amazing. Loved the hot and honey pepperoni pizza. The service I thought was good. My friend didn't get there for a while and it was just me answering emails on my phone lol. The server took my cues really well on when I was and wasn't ready to order. Ambience wasn't bad either. Nice little spot nestled in between buildings. I think it's just that I wasn't a big fan of the food itself.

Also used by the beach community to notify of a surfer's passing over...surfer's name written on the side. Very sweet.
