This time in 2025, I avoided food poisoning and did not go back to the restaurant that made me deathly ill in 2018. It is still open and still serves gelato. My impression this time was much more favorable. There are so many restaurants to choose from, it is hard to imagine how we made our choices last time. It's a pizza lover's dream. I think you could eat pizza at a different restaurant every day for half a year. There are cute little shops and food stores that sell Italian foods and pasta. The Little Italy is quite large, I think larger than the one in NYC, so you can spend a lot of time walking, eating and drinking, and people watching.

Little Italy was *truly* the perfect spot to stay as first-time visitors to San Diego. We were…read morecentral to so much by staying in the La Pensione. The farmer's market was right outside on Saturday, and there were dozens of top-tier restaurants and bars within short walking distance. I'm so glad we stayed in this neighborhood over Gaslamp, as that was on my radar too but sounded like it may have been too wild. We didn't have a car, so parking wasn't a problem, and public transportation was close by. It was also easy to call for a Lyft. I also appreciated how close it was to the airport. I'd absolutely stay in Little Italy again in the future if the price permits!

My little family and I had the most magical time at Old Town San Diego. Should out to the BD for…read morerecommending this be a stop for us to enjoy while visiting SD! So what exactly is "Old Town"? Known and being celebrated at California's original "birthplace", this historic park protects + maintains the look and feels of old California. Here you will find plenty of shopping, authentic Mexican dining, and historical buildings full of artifacts and landmarks. Parking is free and fills up quite quickly due to that. Street parking is also an option. Dining and entertainment costs range and there is the perfect price point for each and every person depending on their needs. A visit here is sure to be enjoyed. Highlights of our visit: * EL CENTRO ARTESANO- San Diego's largest pottery gift shop. Here you will find vibrant, beautifully hand-painted, works of art. * MINER'S GEMS- Here you will find rocks, minerals, jewelry, and crystals of all sorts. * COUSIN'S CANDY SHOP- A shop full of sweets!! There are a plethora of nostalgic candies that aren't easily found, tons of saltwater taffy, honey sticks, traditional Mexican candies, and assortment of fudge. * OLD TOWN JERKY & ROOT BEER- hands down, my absolute favorite shop to visit. You literally get lost in all of the different types of jerky. The offerings for the soda pops are just as vast. Buys here are both delicious and great for quirky gag gifts. 5/5 stars for the entire visit- from start to finish. I only wished my family and I decided to take part in the Old Town trolly tour. This is absolutely be a must during my next visit here. I cannot wait to come back and I can promise you will feel the same way!!

The views of the water and the beautiful green grassy areas are great. If you are a runner or walker, this is a great scenic route for that. I also saw the normal kite flyers out; pretty cool in the rain to see this. The Port Authority now has a parking app: https://parkingapp.com. The parking for 2 hours is $5.35 on the Passport Parking App with this method. I like that the Port Authority still has reasonable parking rates. Thanks!

I did not show my car this year, but my buddy entered his car, so I went with him early, our wives joined us later. We were at the back end of the park with great views of the Rady Shell and Coronado bridge. The views are great from anywhere in the park, really. The marina at the convention center with all the yachts, Navy ships, recreational boaters and people zipping about on personal watercraft. The location is perfect for a car show. Embarcadero Marina North is a great venue for anything, really. From a stroll in the park, to a picnic or wedding. A San Diego gem.
