Second/Third Visit The ice cream has been a little icy lately :( The service hasn't been great. The employees/owners don't seem all that happy. ____ After a disappointing dinner at the Indian place in the same complex, I was intrigued by the prospect of tasty ice cream to make me forget my meal. We ordered the chongas flavor on a cone. It was sooo good. The prices are fair. We had to wait in line for a couple minutes behind a several families, but it wasn't too long. The lady was very nice and speaks both English and Spanish. I've tried ordering the same flavor at different ice cream place in Modesto, but they were out. The fruit was far from ripe. Some of the mangoes were green and hard and the same for the fruit in the parfait. Went here yesterday because of it's close location to my home. I had been here in the past, maybe a few back. I bought a few ice cream bars and nachos. The plain fruit bars were ok. (7/23) I went to La Jungla in Ceres. Everything has always been good, service has been okay. But not this time. The girl working there was very rude. I had ordered strawberry ice cream made from water, i took a spoonful and the taste was off(more like rotten milk ). i Thought maybe it was me but no it tasted like rotten milk to my BF, as well I told her nicely that I didn't like it that it didn't taste right to change it. She got mad took the cup and told me well its water, with attitude. We both told her it tasted like rotten milk. After that, whatever we ordered she would slam the stuff on the counter. My bf got some other flavors and she was being a smart ass asked him if he rather try them first so we don't return it again, being very rude. Where else can you find tequila ice cream? I love this little place. I speak no Spanish and the proprietor speaks little English, but good ice cream seems to be a universal language. There are flavors and aromas that you'll never see at Baskin Robbins. This family owned ice cream shop is always generous with their portions and has service with very large smile. How I wish there was an option for NO stars! I was passing by and agreed to pick something up for my mom from there. I got there and the 2 girls (one young one older) didn't even acknowledge me and looked pretty upset that I was there (there was no line) so I ordered and she made me my crepe and I asked her if they still made tortas and she says yes but we don't have any.. I looked at her in the eyes like really? You don't have any..... And she could not make eye contact with me after I said that. Why? Because she was CLEARLY lying given her lazy attitude and rude customer service I'm sure she was just LAZY to make one. Then she asks me what kind of ice cream I want and I said CHONGOS (a Mexican ice cream flavor) and she goes and gives me STRAWBERRY! I went for the first time today. Only one person working with a long line. The stars are for the location theme and location. I liked that. I got an agua "fresca". They are powdered aguas so be prepared for a powdery taste. At least the Limon one. My girlfriend got the crema & Fresca or something and that was pretty good. This is the worst ice cream shop. The woman upfront is never nice. I am 6 months pregnant I went to get ice cream there ordered a cone of ice cream she handed it to me and their credit card machine was locked because they don't know how to use it. She was upset and was punching the counter. Then she asked me if I have cash I told her I don't carry cash. I mean it's 2019 fits very rare anyone carries cash.
