Our first experience at the Manteca location was great, after that we have gone to both Manteca and Modesto locations several times for their Dubai cup hoping it would be the same as the first time. We ask for extra pistachio cream and ALWAYS pay for extra. There is always barely any at all. They put the thinnest sliver around the cup to make it look full and then add a little drizzle on top of the cup. The entire thing is dry because it's a lot of the kataifi which is great, but a bit of chocolate and absolutely NO pistachio inside the cup. Paying almost $20 for chocolate strawberries. read more

So far I have gotten the strawberry Dubai chocolate 3 times. The very first time is the picture I am attaching 10/10! Katafi pistachio cream delicious, chocolate and strawberries delicious. BUT the second and third time 3/10. Strawberries were great, sweet but the katafi pistachio combo was not mixed like the first time. Katafi was just sprinkled throughout and then clumps of pistachio cream after. The chocolate these 2 times hardened after a few minutes being placed on the strawberries. Definitely not like the first time, the first time the chocolate never hardened. I keep giving it another try every time I go back but it disappoints me. It was a freezing cold night @37degrees and we had an ice cream craving and this hit the spot. Started off with a scoop of strawberry vanilla swirl in a cup and it didn't disappoint. The vanilla was rich and creamy and the strawberry was thick and gooey with the perfect amount of sweet and tartness. As a main dish for dessert we tried the mini pancakes with chocolate icecream and oh my goodness those fluffy sweet baby pancakes covered in hot melted chocolate sauce and cold whip cream lets just say AMAZING! The owner was the nicest and the it was warm and cozy which made the icecream so easy to eat. The service was fast but not too fast as the pancakes were grilled to order. The flavors were in Spanish but the gentleman behind the counter was more than happy to explain them to me. He even let me sample several! Yes! Chongas, Ferraro Rocher, fresh strawberry and Tequila (yes tequila) are a few of the flavors you'll find. I noticed these ice scream treats were stored in metal tins as well. When I asked if they made the ice cream in shop the gentleman explained they are made in Hayward AND that United has 25 locations, didn't expect that. So obviously they've got something special here and worth a try. This time we ordered a Mango Smoothie and a Mangonada, guess we had a bit of a craving. Both items used their mango sorbet, which definitely satisfied. Seriously tasted like a fresh mango !! Smoothie was refreshIng, and that mango kicks your tongue unexpectedly. But my fav was the Mangonada. The guy did not skimp on the mangos and chamoy in the Mangonada. Great ratio of everything . This by far is the best place for a agua fresca. A traditional variety of fruit punches from our hispanic lands. I was pleasantly surprised when the clerk asked me how sweet I liked my punch and then proceeded to make it from scratch in front of me. Which isnt hard to do but absolutly no other place does that. They all make a giant batch and keep it until its used up. Which could be days. Also the mangonada I ordered was good all the way to the end with bits and pieces of mango throughout.
