Decided to stop for a quick solo lunch and maybe have something more satisfying than fast food; such a disappointment. The specials board said, "Ribeye burger" - nope. Instead a frozen patty, ordered medium rare, delivered well done in a kaiser roll big enough for a burger at least twice the size. No ketchup offered by wait staff, flies landing all about the table, and a stack of dirty dishes lying right next to the table... Bad food, bad service, dirty decor. Someone needs to open up across the street and put them out of business. read more

I have only been for lunch and its very reasonable. They have a lunch special for $9 where you choose pasta and a salad or soup. The portions that you get for that are huge and I always end up with left overs. Its never busy at lunch, which is great because you can get in and out. They have a toasty warm fire place inside that is great to sit next to if you are lucky. They have great sandwich options if you are not in the mood for Italian food. They have this soup called Screppelles....it is mini crepes floating in chicken broth, but they sprinkle fresh grated Parmesan over it and its sooo tasty. If you are trying to decide between this place and Giuseppe's down the street, this place wins hands down for lunch! read more

Lots and lots of pizza and sub shops in and along the West Chester Turnpike. Its Philly after all. La Locanda is definitely one of the better ones though in the West Chester area. Standard fare is solid enough (sandwiches, pizza, pasta, salads) and they make one of the better pizzas around West Chester area. They also feature just enough odds and ends on their pizza toppings and menu though to differentiate themselves a bit from the pack. You can eat at La Locanda II Go but it is not fancy. Best part about eating there is honestly the aroma that tend to waft in from the kitchen. Only downside is that they tend to get really busy and their delivery time on a weekend night is often at least 30 minutes and generally is closer to 45 minutes-1 hour. Generally it is easier just order take out on a Friday night instead. read more

This is the baby sister to the main restaurant a short distance away. As the name implies you go here for takeout. I've tried the hoagies and wraps here more than once. The portions, prices, and freshness are all fine. They make a decent sandwich but there is nothing that distinguishes it from a hundred other pizza/hoagie shops in the area. I've never tried the pizza as there are many places closer to my home. read more

Not really sure what happened here but the pizza was very plain and bland. I am a pizza snob and i definitely enjoy a nice pie...but this place...eww. Just not good. It's nice and thin which is a good start and it had a decent amount of cheese but the pizza we got was dry and tasteless....not really sure what to say other then drive up the road in either direction and try some other food. read more

Placed an order for delivery... ordering 7 items...around fifty dollar order. Called after an hour wait and was told food is on its way, should be there any minute; 20 minutes later the food arrived; everything that should have been hot was cold and two of the seven items were missing. Called to see about getting the missing items delivered. I was told they were too busy and I should call back tomorrow. I said the order was put on a credit card and what do I tell the two people who didn't get their dinner. I was put on hold for a few seconds, then told the cook/manger (not sure what the girl said) was too busy to deal with it. I told the girl I wanted proof that my credit card charge was corrected and I would take my future business elsewhere. They really didn't seem to care. If they are too busy to correct their own mistakes and provide good customer service they won't have to worry about being too busy. I will certainly will be telling our friends to go elsewhere. read more

I wish this place could its act together. We have ordered food that was never delivered, had the wrong made, they just can't get it right. And, even worse us that it is NEVER their fault. Ordered a large pizza with half ham. Went to pick it up since I live around the corner. When I got home and opened box it was clear that the pizza was OLD and WHOLE slices of ham where just thrown on top. Pretty clear they were just trying to get rid of pizza that was already cooked since it was near closing time. Have ordered from here before and food and service have never been very good. I just stopped ordering from here even though it's a convenient location. read more

Honestly just went in there today for the first time and got a slice of pepperoni and bacon pizza it was pretty good!!! There's many good options!!! Really nice and clean place. The workers are really polite!!! Hopefully I can go back soon. read more

It was raining, I work nearby, so I decided to do a quick lunch pick from this restaurant. I had eaten at their main sit down restaurant once before, and the food there was average, not bad, and the ambiance was good. The Locanda II Go is a different story. I have only tried their pizza by slice, it was below average in taste and quality. I wouldn't buy pizza here again. It is almost as bad or worse than Anise Pizza in the shopping center near this restaurant. I would likely go here again, only for convenience, because it is quick in and out on my short lunch break and the location is very convenient, but I will go for something else on their extensive menu. Prices appear very reasonable. Service was good. For pizza the best pizza places on West Chester Pike are in Broomall -- Joe's Pizza (Sproul), Drexel Hill Pizza, and Thunderbird. read more

Would NEVER order from La Locanda again... EVER! Placed an rather large catering order on Thursday for a party (25 adults and 8 kids) on Saturday. Was promised delivery by 11:45 am for our 12:00 party. Called at 12:10 and was told the delivery was "on they way... just a minute away." After 3 more phone calls the food was FINALLY delivered at 12:40. No salad dressing for the salad, pizzas were not cut right. We called back to ask how they would make this right and the manager was EXTREMELY rude and then hung up on us. Just unacceptable. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! read more

We were returning costumers, our family ordered there once a week or every two weeks. The pizza is not great but very convenient. We had a family gathering for a birthday and we ordered 2 pizzas. After an hour of waiting we called and they said it was on it's way. 30 more minutes went by and we called again, they said it was still on it's way. Keep in mind we live less than 5 minutes away from the restaurant. 30 more minutes went by and they said they canceled our order from the beginning because a cashier ruined the order. 2 hrs and many disappointed people later we had to find an alternative because they insisted it was on it's way. I think this place is under New management...the pizza here is pretty solid and the prices are very reasonable. This is my family's favorite local pizza place. We only do take out and we only get pizza so i can't comment on the rest of the menu. Lots of bad reviews from several years ago, but I can say In the past year we have had good experiences here. My only request for improvement here is that the Buffalo chicken pizza (my daughters favorite) Isn't always the same, sometimes it's made with cut up cutlets and sometimes with chunks of grilled chicken....it's better with the cutlets!! I'm new to this area and gave this place a try on a whim thanks to some great coupons... was very glad I did! Every thing we ordered was tasty and well made. My family of four picky eaters ordered pizza and salads. Those salads were massive and loaded with toppings. The pizza had perfect proportions of cheese/toppings and a nice crust. Loved it all! My fiance and I have ordered from La Locanda II Go a few times now, and we have decided we will NOT be ordering from there again. The first time, my fiance ordered a pizza while was out of town. He said it was okay, so one night when I didn't feel like cooking, we thought we'd try them out again. We both ordered chicken parm and a side salad. It took about an hour for the food to arrive, which we weren't bothered by. They said it would be about forty-five minutes, so this was expected. The food was just okay, but certainly nothing special. The third (and absolutely the last) time we ordered food from La Locanda II Go, we it was a Friday night. We ordered a wheat crust pizza with chicken, broccoli, and garlic. When ordering, my fiance specifically asked if the chicken was sliced chicken breast or if it was shredded, cheese steak style chicken (which we have run into before at other pizza places). He was told that is was sliced chicken breast. When the food arrived about an our later, we were very disappointed. The pizza was only kind of warm, and there was no chicken on it at all. We called the restaurant, just to let them know about the missing chicken, just figuring that they might want to know. The guy who answered the phone responded in an annoyed tone with "well, what do you want me to do about it?". My fiance said that we weren't expecting him to do anything for us, but that we thought he ought to know. He then said "yeah, well, we're sorry about it" (which he didn't sound at all!) and hung up. That was it! He couldn't have cared less about what we were telling him. Well, being hungry, we decided to eat! We didn't have chicken, but at least we had pizza! That was when the final insult occurred. We reheated our almost completely cold pizza and sat down to enjoy it...At least we tried. I really love wheat crust pizza AND I love thin crust, so I was excited to see that our pizza crust was both of these. I was only excited until I took my first bit. Even though it was thin crust it was somehow not done. It was crisp around the edges, but kind of doughy at the same time. It folded over as soon as I picked it up and ripped apart into several pieces. I actually wouldn't have minded this if it had actually tasted good. In between the poorly distributed, huge mounds of garlic, there was really no flavor at all. It was a very sad food night for us. I wish I had just cooked! I really like to give places the benefit of the doubt, so I'd like to say that I understand that we may have just been unlucky, or that perhaps Fridays are amateur night for the staff. I worked in restaurants for seven years, so I know that there are many factors that can affect the results. I also know that you should be friendly, courteous, and helpful to the customer whenever possible. We will not be ordering from here again. read more

i am so tired of giving this place another chance. between food taking for ever to be delivered and cold and order never right or missing. to night did it for me and it was a pick up 15mins they said it would be ready got there and waited 20 more mins i had ordered a cheese burger with lettuce tomato and onions came home to take out my Burger that i was so looking forward to. only to see it on slaped on a cheese steak roll. is this the new roll for burger?? this will be our last time ever ordering again they don"t care up there and we are regular customers and i will never recommend again. read more

Had a wonderful Mother's Day brunch today. After leaving Newtown Grill from a bad experience (see my full review), La Locanda saved us from disaster. Our entire party was seated quickly and the service was excellent. The food was superb especially the Lobster Bisque soup and Fritata special. We were not rushed and the atmosphere was relaxing. I would highly recommend visiting. We even met the owner who wanted to ensure we had a great dining experience. read more

Wow..I live right around the corner from La Locana to go since before they opened. I have ordered there infrequently primarily because I have never had a great experience and there are really good hoagie places down the street. About a half hour ago, I decided to get a quick hoagie and ordered a prosciutto and sharp provolone hoagie. It had to be the worst hoagie I have ever attempted to eat. It was primarily salad with sharp provolone and one slice of prosciutto. For some strange reason they put an incredible amount of salt on it. I am a salt person, but this tasted like an anchovy sandwich without any anchovy, It was hard to eat. The prosciutto was a dark brown color which is not the color that prosciutto is supposed to be. I do not think it was fresh but if I start getting stomach cramps I'll repost. They have over 100 things on their menus and with a kitchen the size of mine I don t think that Chef Ramsey would approve. I'm sorry Cut Above I will never go there again. read more

I am so disappointed with their food and service. I don't know if they hired new personnel and didn't train them properly or they just had a bad day, but initially I did like their food. They do NOT listen to you when placing order. And they add things that you don't ask for. In addition, over the phone they gave me one price and when delivered, charged me much more. Unacceptable. Foods not bad and service is fine but this one guy heated my pizza without gloves and a band aid on his finger. I mean literally the band was touching my pizza gross! I was nice and paid for my pizza and just threw it away. I decided to try it again and when I ordered the guy took out the writing pad and the dirty pad was laid on a pizza that was sitting there to look at to buy a slice. Then again I went and the guy in the back was wiping crap on his dirty shirt and then making a pizza. The back of the place also looks dirty. Honestly they have decent food but they are not that clean. Their people handle food like contamination is a myth. I will now choose to go someplace else. I have heard that the regular restaurant is fantastic. The take out restaurant I would highly recommend Trattoria Giuseppe right down the road where you will never get a bad meal. Having been to the take out place numerous times for pick up they never had the order right and always had to wait 20 min or so past the time I was told it would be ready. So I decided to try the delivery. Placed my order for Eggplant Rollatini, comes with salad and garlic bread, ordered extra ranch for the salad. I also ordered a Soprano small sandwich with a 2 liter of Coke. They must charge a lot for delivery because the Eggplant was $12.95 and comes with salad and garlic bread. The sandwich was $5.95, so lets say $19. Driver tells me the bill is $26 and change. That's an expensive Coke, which they forgot by the way. He asked if he wanted me to have him come back and I said no just take it off the bill. So he says $24 and I give him $30. I get the food inside and take it out of the bag and they forgot the extra ranch. So no big deal on the Coke or the Ranch but I like things the way I order them. So I call back and get the old man and tell him that the Coke was no big deal till I found out they forgot something else. He then begins to tell me exactly where the extra ranch is and I tell him that is isn't there and he replies that he will ask the driver. What am I lying about it. So $30 for ok food that wasn't delivered right and called a liar in the process. Never came back with the Coke I would have licked to have had my meal with and couldn't eat the whole salad because they skim on the dressing. 3 times your out. Done with this place read more
