We are fans of the bake at home Stromboli. Frankly, I wasn't sure of where to get it after a place locally closed. A simple FB search showed that the Stromboli can be sourced at A Casa and even Swiss Farms. I grew up in Philadelphia and these Stromboli's are the best I have tasted in the area. Cook them according to the directions, maybe a little longer if you like it more well done. Pepperoni, sausage peppers and onions, and butternut, onion and cheese (I think only in the fall) are my favorites. It is truly rolled and not just folded over once. Always heard great things, never had any of their stuff. Just had a cheesesteak Stromboli, it sucked. We bought it frozen from Ludwigs Corner, a quality place. I have had some bad restaurant experiences, but never have I felt like a place misrepresented the product deliberately to rip me off. At A Casa, I felt that way. The girl who answered the phone was helpful & patient, so she gets the 1 star. Otherwise, the food is -2 stars, at best. If the other reviews are real, I cannot believe anyone around here would have such poor taste in pizza. I should have known better when no other "Yelper" had a photo, nor did they have more than 8 total reviews to their name. The "shop" where my husband went to pick this up looked barren. You can tell this is not a hot spot for food, & NO ONE else was in there, nor arriving or leaving as my husband was there, like you'd normally see with popular (or even less-popular) establishments. Very weird. First, as you can see in my photos, the "pizza" looks nothing like the photos on their website or menu. What we got (2 pizzas for $30) was totally NOT a representation of what they advertised, it was way inferior in all ways. I asked for (+ paid extra for) the oat bran crust, which was conveniently described in a marketable way by another "reviewer." As you can see in my photos, this "oat bran" crust is not what I got at all, & there was no "touch of honey & nuttiness flavor," like the other reviewer claimed there would be. The "oat bran" crust looked & tasted NO different from the regular crust we got. It tasted stale first & foremost, beyond that it tasted like bleached processed grains, & had the aftertaste of processed food. So we were up-charged for nothing. I was also told over the phone by the girl at A Casa, that the Sicilian Tomato Pie (another up-charge) would be "thicker crust," & that the sauce would be "really thick," which it was not at all. See my side-profile shot. It was thin as can be. It too tasted sour, canned & NOT homemade. As you can see in the photos, the Hawiian pizza we bought ($17.95 + up-charge for oat bran crust + tax = $20.62) has about 5 bits of topping per slice, which is really sparse. Most pizza places would be ashamed to try to pawn something like that off on their customers. Toppings tasted like can drive donations. One pepper for ten pizzas. Why hasn't any other "reviewer" posted a photo of their food or their visit? Weird. The cheese was REALLY cheap. It was the kind of mozz that feels like plastic, both before & AFTER you cook it. My mother used to buy factory-made bake-at-home pizza kits as fundraisers for the school where she taught, and those always had rubbery cheap cheese; this was just like that. Bounces around like a rubber ball in your stomach after eating it, and sticks to your organs as toxic sludge in your body for the rest of your life. Unfortunately for us, we fell for the Yelp "reviews," which were either fake, or left by people who curiously never ate real pizza, ever in their lives. We paid a lot MORE than we would at good pizza shops (Pinocchio's being top on my list, or nearby La Porta for artisan pizza) to get an inferior pizza, which we then had to cook ourselves. Who on earth would want to do that??? To be 110% honest, I could have bought Red Baron at the grocery store for the same quality, but much better taste. My husband makes pizza from scratch which is outstanding, & we both regretted not having him cook instead of believing these misleading reviews tonight. NOT 5 stars by a LONG shot. NO WAY! If this gross pizza is 5 stars, my husband's homemade recipe belongs on the cover of Food & Wine Magazine. Unfortunately, A Casa is totally misrepresented on Yelp! Total waste of our money! ------------ Update (6/7/15) shortly after my original review, which noted the other "reviewers" with under 8 reviews to their name, & suggested they were faux reviews, suddenly three of those people magically add photos to their profile. Really? Kind of an odd coincidence, especially for people who haven't posted a review for several years. How convenient. They just randomly said, "Hey, I better check up on my A Casa review of that one time I ever ate pizza in my life, and perhaps I should spend the time to add a photo to make sure my years-old review appears legitimate..." Used to be "Moms Bake at Home" still the same owners and it might be even better quality. Very nice service, clean store with great choices and options. Try their Stromboli's they are wonderful. But the pizza is the reason to come. What makes their pizza better then ordering it from any other restaurant is you get it hot and fresh from your oven. No Pizza travels . Soggy limp ick!! Not from here. Crispy bottom . Bubbling cheese. What it's best for is parties. Two or three in the oven and you can rock it!! You can Pizza party to your hearts content. We bought two pizzas here last night (4/17/20) for the first time and they were phenomenal. We really liked how customizable they were with all the options in crusts and toppings. We had a gluten free buffalo chicken and a gluten free upside down. They were some of the freshest pizzas we've ever had. No grease, full flavor. My wife woke up this morning and one of the first things she said was that pizza last night was so good. We'll be back soon (probably weekly now)! read more

I never thought that test driving a Volvo would lead to the discovery of one of my favorite pizzas! Car shopping can make anyone hungry and cranky, and after a full day of car shopping, I was feeling both! During a test drive at Volvo, the salesman excitedly recommended A Casa Pizza to my husband and me. Motivated by extreme hunger and descriptions of fresh, cheesy, customizable pizza led us to A Casa! Even though the concept of taking the pizza home to bake it sounded unusual to us, we decided to give it try. When we walked into A Casa Pizza, I knew we would be hooked! It smelled like fresh basil (my favorite!) and several free samples of specialty pizzas tempted us from the counter. The friendly, patient workers thoroughly explained the options (some healthy ones!) and the cook-at-home process. We ordered the weekend special (a magical crab/pesto pie) and a plain pizza. We easily cooked our pie at home to cheesy, bubbly, fresh-from-the-oven perfection! The leftovers were few. Since our first A Casa pizzas, we have returned for the pizza, frozen strombolis, hot wings, and other delectable dishes! In particular, the breakfast stromboli makes the perfect morning meal "down the shore" or for holiday house guests. The cheesesteak strombolis are always stocked in our freezer during football season, and we have even cooked an A Casa over the campfire! Even after moving 30 minutes away, we remain loyal to A Casa Pizza! read more

Definitely delicious. I've never seen a place like this before being from New York. More than just a novel idea, Mom's knows pizza well and doesn't disappoint. With a wide variety of toppings and crusts, I don't think one can go wrong with any of the menu offerings. The toppings are fresh, tasty and well put together. My first trip here, I got a large pie with half of it being buffalo chicken and the other Mediterranean style. We also go the multi-grain crust which is $2 extra. At $18, we got a great pizza to go and knew that we'd get it fresh as we would have to bake it ourselves. For the same pie, I know most places would have charged probably at least $5-8 more, especially because we had variety on our pie. Mom's doesn't charge extra for wanting variety on your pizza. They make everything on the spot so you know you're not getting anything pre-made stale or frozen. It's all freshly made. Upon baking (the instructions are on the box), we realized that Mom's does not skimp on the sauce or cheese. The pie was oozing with both and the abundance was absolutely welcome. Also, because you can bake it as long or as little as you want, you won't have to worry about getting a pie with the bottom crust being blackened from a dirty oven or from being baked too long. You can customize it to your taste. I will definitely come back here. Love the concept, love the food, love the price. Wish there was one in New York. read more

Despite the old adage about "never eat at a restaurant called Mom's", we were intrigued by the sign out front advertising premade stromboli that you could take home and heat on your grill or oven. We are big stromboli fans but up till now usually bought a pepperoni-and-cheese variety available in our previous neighborhood's grocery store. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Mom's has about a dozen flavors of premade frozen stromboli that can be easily taken home and heated up. Flavors included good ol' pepperoni and cheese, sausage and pepper, and various more exotic types like vegan soy, chicken, etc. We went for the traditional pepperoni and sausage varieties, as well as a side tub of homemade chocolate chip cookie dough that you can take home and bake yourself. The counter lady (Mom? more likely Mom's daughter) gave us lots of tips on how to best thaw and cook the stromboli and made sure we took a pizza menu for future reference. Really friendly lady. The stromboli was excellent, did not suffer at all from having been frozen. I would say it was more like a calzone because the dough was wrapped around the filling rather than being done up in a roll with dough inside, however it was good to eat no matter how you define it. We will definitely try the pizza another time. There are a LOT of different toppings and types to try. I figured this place had to be good given that it's in the middle of a very expensive area filled with luxury car dealers and corporate campuses, and there is a Pizzeria Uno catty-corner across the street. I have no idea why you would want to eat at Uno when you can cross the street and get much better food at Mom's. It is easy to see how Mom's stays in business since you don't get this level of quality product and service from many city pizzarias any more. read more

The Mom's bakery, which supplied the crusts and stromboli to all of the Mom's stores, was sold to corp. owners. Gone were the all-natural ingredients and thus the taste. So instead of settling for sub-par the franchise owners came up with their own 100% natural crust recipes, which I find better than the original crusts. My favorite is the oat bran crust. It has a touch of honey and nuttiness flavor. And the stromboli for all of the stores (whether they remained under the Mom's name or changed) are made in this Newtown Square store providing more offerings and better taste. If you haven't been here in a while, you should revisit. You'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

A Casa Pizza is AMAZING! The casa pizza pizza is a must try! My family has been going here for years and the pizzas and strombolies are consistently delicious. They recently switched pizza crust and it is even better then their old one. The staff are very generous and always finish the pizzas in a reasonable time frame. With many toppings, there is a huge variety of pizzas. On top of all that there is nothing like a fresh pizza right out of the oven. It is also reasonably priced. Just discovered A Casa Pizza recently, and I'm very glad I did! My wife and I had the Mediterranean, and our kids had the Triple Cheese - both were hits. The ingredients were super fresh, and the crust had the perfect amount of crisp (after pulling out the foil) when baked in the oven. Aside from the perfect pie, the customer service at the store was exceptional. I was greeted by the owner, who shared with me the bake-at-home process, some tips for best results, and also provided some info on the history of the store - a husband-wife team that has been operating this place for 31 years!
