If I'm driving down west Chester pike and my stomach is rumbling, the first place I'm stopping in is Drexel Hill Style Pizza. You walk in and smell the aroma from the hot grille and the welcoming greeting from Tasi the owner, it makes you feel like you are home at grandmas. Pizza is fantastic. Dough is fresh and light. They were whipping up strombolis that looked amazing, but unfortunately I did not get one tonight. (ill be getting one sometime this week) The cheesesteak was Amazing. I ordered it with onions and American cheese with a side of wiz (my go to order.. get with it). It was bomb. Dip in the wiz, dip in the ketchup. Boom. Unbelievably good. Great food and great people. This place is exactly what I think of when I think of Philly. Workers with strong accents just scream greeting everyone that walks in.. in the friendliest loudest Philly way. I loved it! The second I walked in it felt like I was in a movie. Owner is a character and super friendly. Get the Philly cheesesteak with a side of wiz and you're good to go. Pizza slaps too. I ordered 2 chicken pizza steak sandwiches with mushrooms and grilled onions -the bill was $36 ! I was shocked. When I got home there was no cheese on either one. The person who took my order asked if I wanted American or provolone, so I know it was supposed to be on them. I called when I got home. They said the cheese must have melted when they grilled the roll. I said " The roll was not even grilled !" All they could say was "Sorry.". Plus, they just didn't taste good in general. My entire family and I have been going to DH Pizza for over 40 years. Not anymore. The grandson is the most rudest, most uneducated and obnoxious person and the woman answering the phone is even worse - she doesn't even know the menu when asked questions. When my food was delivered I immediately called and asked for the "Owner". A young guy (the grandson of the original owner) got on the phone and I asked if he was the Owner. He stated, "Um, um, I guess." I then asked, "You're the Owner???" He answered, "Well I guess I am". I know who the owner is - and it wasn't this idiot. The The food quality is inferior - burnt pizza - now you have to tell them to "cook it light". I ordered wings and got Acme chicken wings. The girl on the phone couldn't figure out I wanted buffalo wings when I told her I wanted "hot wings"??? I have complained 4 times in the last 8 deliveries. Sorry 50/50 is not a place I want to order from anymore. It's a real shame that a family business is nose-diving because of an ignorant, entitled jerk. Hey Dad, you're not helping your kid with this type of abuse. Let's see how long you'll be around. I hope I still have pictures of my burnt pizza - That one I posted all over Facebook. I purchased 3 small pizzas yesterday. To say they were overcooked would be an understatement. They were such an effort to eat we couldn't finish them. There was no perceptible sauce, the cheese was mahogany dark brown in color, the crust was the color of coffee and was so hard it was completely inedible. The pies did not rise AT ALL and were flat, including the crust, like a large cracker. And all of this was swimming in a puddle of oil. And for nearly $10 a piece! Fantastic and unique Pizza, our family has enjoyed it for going on 50 Years! Ernie and his son Nick were always a pleasure to visit. Unfortunately the recent experience with the Grandson and new generational 'Leadership' was the most disappointing customer experience of a lifetime. He was rude, insulting and provided a profanity laced tirade of what was clearly his mistake. I will miss the delicious pizza, and if his behavior is any indication of how he intends to manage the Gem his Grandfather and Father built, I question if the success continues.... Absolutely my favorite place to order late. I have to confess, I'm not the biggest fan of their pizza, but that's not a reflection of the quality. It's quite greasy and cheesy, and easily a favorite of a large majority of my friends. I, on the other hand, tend to change up my orders frequently, and I'm always pleased by the results. Their cheesesteak is easily my favorite in Delaware County; lightly toasted bun, finely shredded meat, just the right amount of melt in the cheese. If you like fried onions, I recommend getting them on the side so you get more meat. Their burgers are terrific; again, lightly toasted bun, melted cheese, and a big, juicy patty. I have never had and under or over cooked burger from these guys. Their wings seem to be touch and go for most; I prefer lightly fried wings, and Drexel Hill definitely deep fries them. Again, not my favorite, but it's the most unique buffalo wing I've eaten, so I do enjoy the variety. Finally, their fries and onions rings are the most addictive of their kind. I'm a big fan of onion rings, and I prefer the sort that are compact and solidly constructed rather than huge and crumbly. I hate biting into an onion ring and having the onion slither out. Not so with these guys; medium sized rings with finely sliced onions, seasoned perfectly with a hearty spice that is also used on the fries. I've ordered out for several parties, and whenever a new guest has a fry, they can't stop eating them. Not a place to go and sit down, however. It's a tiny place, designed primarily for delivery, so they fittingly stay open until 1:00am on weekends. As a picky eater when it comes to delivery food, this is one of the few places I know I can rely on. It's my bedrock. read more

Drexel Hill Pizza serves up my favorite pie in the area. The cheese is good, the crust is great and it's light on the sauce which is just the way I like it. As for their other food, I can't say that I've ever disliked anything I've ordered. I'm a big fan of their turkey clubs, bacon egg & cheese grinders and their chicken parm sandwiches. The french fries are quite good as well. But it still boils down to their delicious pizza. Even when I'm not in the mood to dismantle a large pie by myself, I'll order something else and still get a mini pizza as well just so I can at least get a taste of it. Service is pretty quick as well. They always tell you 10-minutes when you pick up and for the most part they're pretty good about having your food ready by then. If not, you aren't waiting too long. Wow! Drexel Hill Pizza. I first had it in 1969, I believe. I was born at West Chester Hospital in 1965 and lived in Broomall until 1973. I know, it was a longggggg time ago. My family still jokes about the guy who used to answer the phone back in the late 60s. It's hard to describe his tone in writing, but it was sort of like he started low and ended high: "Drexel HILL PIZZAAAAAA!!!". When I went back for a visit to the old neighborhood, of course I had Drexel Hill Pizza. And the next day, I ate at the Country Squire. BTW, what in the heck happened to my grade school?? (Marple Grade School). It's all closed down with broken windows everywhere and I guess it's abandoned. The front door where I used to climb up those HUGE steps (they're not huge, as I discovered...that cracked me up to see that it was just one cement step. I could have sworn during the winter I was climbing a steep hill) LOL. What can I say about the pizza?​ I give it 5 out of 5 stars because it reminds me of good things from the past that I will never experience again (plus, it's just great pizza!). I just wish there was some way for them to ship a half-cooked or uncooked pizza to me using FedEx overnight or something. Their baked mozzarella fries are good if you're looking for a side dish & don't mind that its probably clogging at least one artery (but lets be honest, if you're ordering from a local pizza shop your not worrying about that) Cons: Pizza is decent but not great. It is more of a greek style which isn't my style of choice so keep that in mind (maybe that is more your flavor). read more

I have been a customer of Drexel Hill Pizza for 45+ years and after their online ordering menu changed my order to pick up instead of delivery, I called to get it delivered and they "couldn't change it because if was a Friday night," I then said I'd pick it up but I didn't want to and called back to say cancel the order.
