Not sure about bikes, for they also sell and service there, but the owner, I assume, knew his stuff on locksmith and was teaching another young guy how to cut keys more accurately. That's nice. He made a duplicate/cut/program for a pre 2005 Honda in no time, and didn't pretend that's its a big deal like some other locksmiths. Even though the price of car keys are ridiculous everywhere in general, they were comparatively very reasonable. read more

I chose to take my business to this local neighborhood small business instead of buying online and now i wish i hadn't. I bought a switch lock garage door opener which stopped working within a few days ($27). The back part had popped off so no signal was going to my garage door motor to open it. I took it back to them thinking there would be some warranty on defective products and all he wanted to do was sell me another one with a discount. He even suggested that i broke it. The lock is similar to that of a file cabinet, one simple nut with two wires. These guys don't stand by what they sell. Ill go to Burbank Locksmith down the street from them next time. read more

I know this place for over 20 years. It was run buy the father, a guy with one arm. It's now run by the son, a complete jerk. To hear him talk is your first clue, he sounds like a used car salesman. No sense of humor, and quick wit goes right over his head indicating he is not very bright. His father was a great guy, I really miss him. I was recommended to come to this establishment by a friend but the guy working there didn't care and was so rude and greedy! He purposefully didn't tell me how much it would cost to sauder two little wires on my gate remote, and in the end wanted $20! I could have bought a new remote for that cost! And then to expect to be paid well over that cost? What a joke! This establishment and owner deserve a (minus) -5 stars! Shame on them for ripping people off and having an attitude on top of all. I took a key into LA locksmith that I bought on eBay. Even though I did not buy it there they did an excellent job of programming it. A fraction of the cost of the dealer and they did it on the spot. The dealer wanted me to leave the car with them for the day. read more

I have been customizing a 1970 Airstream trailer and have used this place to make keys for me twice now. The first time I was a happy enough customer to use them again. The second time, they fabricated a custom peice for my main door lock mechanism. Their rates are more than reasonable, and they are friendly. I've been going to this place for years at the old location on San Fernando and it's always been a good experience. The new location on Alameda is more convenient and co-located with a bike shop like in the past. They had the exact copy of my dying garage remote (no weird, possibly incompatible universals) and I was out of there in a short time. I guess the old man, (whom i did business with for many years and was a real class act) retired and left his son in charge. Thats a shame. Came in to get some 'smithing tools and the guy treated me as if I was asking for some kind of highly restricted items instead of readily available, basic and common place tools. Now, I get it if he doesnt feel comfortable selling locksmith tools to non-professionals. Though never in my life have I met a more rude, dismissive and condescending individual in a business setting. Do not go to this place. I came from being served today by one of the most abusive men i have ever encountered in business. He began to yell at me and hurl abuse as i asked him politely to complete business with me before he served his friends who he went to right away and stopped helping me. He told me to wait that i was impatient had an anger problem and slammed my keys on the table . I told him he was inappropriate in the way he was treating a customer and he just kept going. We had LA Locksmith Supply re-key our mailbox over a year ago. Very courteous and quick service. When our mailbox wouldn't open recently, we called them to see if they could figure out if something was wrong with the key. Mark came out and got our mail box open. Turned out the mailman had jammed the box of caterpillars we had ordered in our mailbox and it wasn't allowing the key to turn. Mark didn't charge us for coming out and saved our caterpillars!
