Went here on our last night in Barcelona and although we loved the old cave-like atmosphere, the food was definitely lackluster. We began eating shortly before 8PM, when it started filling up with other patrons. Of the 5 that showed up while we were there, all were Americans (so are we). Their food was inauthentic and obviously suited for American tastes. It was the least impressive food we ate during our trip. We should have realized it as soon as we saw the nacho offering on the menu. read more

Pretty good drinks, solid tapas, good place for a casual dinner. BUT there is a strictly Coldplay soundtrack here. Not joking. Here for two hours and nothing but Coldplay played. Maybe it was a joke. great food, great service! the tapas are big and when they warn you take their advice even if you're starving. i definitely recommend popping in for dinner :) i do wish they spaced bringing them out a little more. read more

Great tapas place in tough competition from all the surrounding places in this area. We arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday and had to wait 30 minutes for a table, but the bartender made it worth the wait. Awesome drinks and great show from the bar. We had patatas, fried cod, nachos, sliders, quesadillas, and calamari, all of which were really good. Servings are plenty so two tapas each is reasonable, but we ordered more just to taste the variety. read more

In Barcelona for only 5 days, this was the one place we went back to. The ambiance is cute-rusticated, low lighting, vaulted brick ceilings, arm-chair seating. Food Based on another review advising we only order the more interesting looking dishes, we chose the following, all of which had deliciously flavored sauces. I'm sensitive to the tenderness of meat, and these were much chewy-er than I like so a point off for that. - Salmon con pure (fish dish) - Espaldita de cordero (meat dish) - Magret de Pato (poultry dish) Each comes with a little dollop of some spoon full of vegetable construct on the side, very tasty in its own right. Drink - Sangria Cava: Pale cava sangria is sparkling and refreshing in a large goblet. - Mojito: Tasty, but the bottom was covered in undissolved sugar, so careful with the straw to avoid a mouth full of sugar. - Guinness: About the best beer we could easily find in restaurants, unless you are into weak, light beers (Corona, Heineken, etc). I'm okay with Estrella, but it's more of a cool water replacement on a hot day than a "good" beer. (We are spoiled by California's micro brewery explosion). read more

This place has a great vibe inside and really cool interior. The drinks were very good. The food was great and relatively large portions, big enough to share. The only thing that could have been better was the cheese plate, it was advertised as "spanish cheese platter" but came with mostly cheddar, parmesan, and brie. The cheeses were good, but probably not the most authentic. Overall, I recommend coming in! read more

Had dinner and cocktails there and everything was delicious. Especially recommend the sausage, it was amazing. The total bill for two people including many cocktails was about €60, so reasonable yet so tasty! The staff were very friendly and the food arrived nice and quickly. 2 tapas per person was plenty! read more

One of the favorites we stumbled upon! We had almost everything on the tapas menus but the best was the steak, and papayas bravas! Delish!

A hidden gem in Barcelona. A friend and I came across this place while visiting and loved it so much we went back 3 times during our stay. The ambiance is different than your regular bar which makes it that much more interesting, the sangria is amazing and the tapas are wonderful. Food is mediocre at best. Most boring meal We had in Barcelona. We ordered lamb, croquettes, calamari, nachos, and cheese plate. Our server ignored us most of the night which I was willing to dismiss as just a cultural difference (maybe Europeans enjoy sitting at the table for a while after dinner?) We were sitting at a table of our stacked empty plates for 20 min. Wait time aside the 3 stars is based solely on the food. read more

The best cava that I've ever had! The whisky sour is also quite good. Tapas were stellar, and the vibe of the place is super cool and dusky, especially since the place is hidden in la Gotica. Definitely recommend, and probably make a reservation. read more

The atmosphere was pleasant and the vegetarian selection was delicious (up to 7 dishes, we tried 4). The cocktails was nice, served in appropriate glasses. The place gets three stars because it was not an authentic Spanish restaurant and it was filled with Americans, which isn't bad of course but if you're looking for a local authentic restaurant, this may not be the perfect fit. And they get receive one star less for the service. Service was not helpful, twice I had to walk to the front of the bar for a request. Try to sit in the front part of the restaurant, the back can become really warm. read more

The cava sangria was amazing so I was hopeful but the meal was not up to the standards of previous reviews given. The squid was full of sand and the processed feel of the food was sad. Maybe it was the holiday help in the kitchen but this was very disappointing. read more

My favorite restaurant that we went to in Barcelona. The filet with au gratin potatoes was my favorite dish in all of Barcelona. It had the best flavor and was cooked perfectly. Greek salad was also lovey. Veggie quesadilla was good for a quesadilla but a sort of a boring item for us to order (but happy it's offered). My husband and I picked this place for a date night while on vacation. There were a lot of good things about the place, and a few negatives worth noting. First the good. The food was fantastic. I would say that there was a lot of different influences to the type of food, rather than being strictly local fare, but it was delicious either way. The decor of the place is really trendy and looks like the inside of a gothic basement with artfully exposed brick and high ceiling arches. The place was pretty full and we were lucky to have made a reservation, cause the party ahead of us was told a 45 minute wait. Despite being full, the tables were spaced out comfortably and it was actually a pretty romantic atmosphere. Now the areas of improvement. Drinks for me are a big part of the dining out experience. When we were sat, I asked for a wine list/ cocktail menu and the server went to search for one... not only did she never bring one by, but it seemed like she kept getting distracted with other things to do and when she looked like she wanted to come by to take our order, she'd remember that she still needed to get the drink menu and would avoid us. We ultimately flagged down another server and ordered through him, a house red (cause we didn't know what else they had), and a long island for me (cause I was feeling like a college student, don't judge me, lol, and I didn't have a cocktail list). While the wine came out right away, I waited for my drink well until the first of our tapas started coming out. When I asked the server about it 15 minutes later, it was sitting on the bar top the entire time. I'm not sure if the bartender knew how to make the drink because the cocktail was all sugar.... waaaaay too syrupy and not at all like any LIT I've ever had before. I switched over to a vodka tonic for the second round and it was better. The prices for the place was not bad, but definitely a little more expensive than some of the other tapas places we'd dined at, but being a trendier place, I guess it wasn't unreasonable. Logistics wise, google maps will take you to the address listed, but that's not where the restaurant is. It's actually tucked away on a side alley around the corner, so it took us a minute to find it. Worth checking out though. I'd be willing to give the benefit of the doubt and say that we may have just had an "off" experience that evening. read more

Ok samgria is strong. Bacalao in a cake form is amazing. Chicken curry is excellent with a cake of rice. Nachos we're excellent.
