As far as chains go, La Madeleine's is one of my favorites. I was elated to discover that they had put one in the new Lakeline shopping center which is now the closest one to where I live/work. I went in this past weekend for lunch and the ordering process is slightly different than other La Mad's. You go directly to the cashier rather than getting them started on your salad/soups. I'm not sure if this process is worse or if the people in front of us in line were just very indecisive. All in all, I thought the place was incredibly clean, the food was great, the bread bin area was more organized/clean than other locations I've been to, and there are so many seating areas to choose from. I like how they create little nooks in their restaurants. I would love to find out of they have free wifi as I saw there were some outlets near tables. It would be a great place to work from occasionally since they have coffee and tons of foods to snack on. read more

Came here with my parents one evening after our malling adventure at Lakeline Mall. This place recently open so I think the glitches in our experience was due to that. My dad ordered a chicken dish with rice and veggies and a side of Tomato Basil soup, my mom ordered soup with a choice of 2 salads and I got a Quiche Lorraine and Tomato Basil soup. Ordering at the counter was pleasant. The guy was friendly and efficient. We took our number and found a seat. My beef with this visit was I felt like it took forever for our food to come out! Everything that we ordered seemed pretty simple except maybe my dad's. We were hoping that maybe the soups would come out first but it all came out at the same time after what seemed like an eternity. Food is always great and consistent at all the La Madeleine's I've been too. I hope that this location get through opening woes and they can get with the program. read more

Came to this place for the first time and I have to day that we were impressed by the customer service provided by Michael while he was taking our order. Not only was he very friendly with us but I also saw how he took the time to help a lady find an item of her liking in the menu. Awesome job! read more

Went to the FREE Sneak Peak Event today. Yes sometimes there really is such a thing as a free lunch. There's one tomorrow too but sorry they're sold out. The Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwich was great. Just the right ratio of chicken croissant and mayo. I think this will be my new favorite La Mad entree. The Caesar salad was a bit wilted but I always love their Caesar Dressing so I was happy anyway. The chocolate eclair was melt in your mouth goodness. Yum! I took a bite of my friends French Dip. Not a fan of horseradish and this was slathered on both sides. Otherwise it seemed like it would have been yummy as the bread and meat had nice texture. Of course the employees were overwhelmed and it took a long time to order, but hey it was free. They'll get that smoothed out soon I'm sure. Also, they messed up my friends order and they had to remake it. The decor was as charming as you'd expect from La Mad. Feels like visiting a French country cottage...I assume...as I've never been to France so hey I could be wrong. Great shaded outdoor seating too with a grassy fenced in "backyard" area. I guess that's for the kiddos to run around in. They open to the public on April 3rd and I expect they'll have a line out the door. read more

This is my third try at La Madeleine and once again disappointed. Tried the new beef and potato dish. Did not look like the advertisement where the sauce looked rich as if it had wine in it. The potatoes tasted like instant potatoes. It lacked seasoning and flavor. read more

Heard the employees do not use gloves when handling the food and went in one day to check and sure enough they weren't. It was just nasty seeing people touch other people's food with no gloves. Had to take my family out immediately. Had an ok experience before this time and enjoyed some pastries but the thought of how they even handled my last experience ruins the possibility of enjoying my previous experience. read more

After the abrupt closing of the Round Rock location, we decided we would adapt and come to this location at Great Hills Trail and 183. We have enjoyed our meals every time we have been here, especially the sampler (tomato basil soup, cranberry pecan salad and half of a chicken friand are my favorites). My kids love the pizza and the chicken and cheese pasta. The French toast kid's meal my daughter got looked pretty awesome, too. Ending the meal with a slice of Sacher torte or one of these mini chocolate tarts is pretty divine. They had some white chocolate lemon cookies one time that my kids devoured (and maybe I did too). I love that it's a quick meal, but you can leisurely sit and eat without feeling rushed by a server. The decor is beautiful, classic French Country- a nice change from the ever common "modern chic" that has become the theme for most restaurants. read more

I was scared to try this particular La Madeleine because of the Yelp reviews. I'm glad I did though. It was really good and no different than the one down 183 more. I had the chicken Friand and my son had the grilled cheese with fruit. He loved what I got and said he wants it next time. I really enjoy the ambiance here, the free bread and jam, the fireplace and music. It's comforting. I am going to come back soon. read more

My favorite comfort food. I feel like a busty French woman every time I eat at La Madeleine. However, I would like them to incorporate some American food into they're menu. Just left la Madeleine. Been a customer in Austin and San Antonio for years, literally since the late 90's. They used to have this sun dried tomato puff pastry pizza thing back in the day that was out of this world, but I digress. Their menu is consistent and predictable, which I like. However tonight as I was browsing the dessert cake pre-ordering I noticed a dead bug on top of the white coconut cake. Pretty obvious, a black bug on a white cake, so I notified the girl working and she said she'd take care of it. I know bugs get in the case, it happens, but it still turned me off of picking up a cake for the family Christmas dinner. We ordered our food, ate, and just for giggles stopped by the dessert case on the way out to make sure she took care of it. Totally didn't. Totally gross!!! read more

I go there a couple times a week for breakfast. The service is prompt and accurate and very good. There is a fireplace that is nice in the winter and outside eating in the Spring and Autumn is pleasant. The menu is limited but has enough variety to allow options to suit me and others. What happened to this place? Dirty dishes stacked on half the tables while staff stood around. When I asked for someone to bus my table and clean the table, I was given a wet rag! I did it myself. Three of the last four times, the order delivered to my table has either been missing items or was the wrong thing entirely. Staff seems checked out and unengaged. Normally I really like La Madeleine at both the Arboretum and Lakeline Market, however the last couple of visits to the Lakeline Market store over the last month have been a disappointment. The food remains of good quality but the cleanliness of the restaurant and friendliness of the staff seems to have slipped. This morning, we met some friends there for breakfast. We place out order and then began looking for a place that could seat six people. There was one table large enough that was not occupied but it had crumbs on it. I went to get a napkin so that I could wipe it off and found that the table was sticky as well. We looked for another table but there were a few that had been vacated by patrons, but the dishes remained on the table. We did eventually find another table. When we went to get coffee and all carafes were empty and the counter was pretty dirty. I glanced over at the bread container and it was nearly empty as well. After I food was delivered to us, I began to notice that as diners finished their breakfasts and left, the tables were not cleaned. The dirty dishes and leftover food just sat there. The store was not that busy during our visit and it seemed that the friendliness and enthusiasm of the past had vacated the premises as well. I am not posting this to Slam La Madeleine, but hope that the feedback can help restore this location to the great store that it once was. read more

Visited the area's newest La Madeleine a couple of times now. They have all of the great food as the other stores however, this one is a little different. You do not get any food going down the line. You go directly to the cash register, order, pay, and take your table marker spoon. They deliver your entire order at one time. I think we like this paradigm better. Being new, it is spotlessly clean with a fresh appearance. There's plenty of indoor seating and a spacious, lovely covered patio.The staff here is new but you'd never know it as they are very well trained, friendly, and most important they look and sound happy. This is now the closest La Madeline to us so we will be going here quite often. read more

Service at this location is absolutely horrible! Just went in and ordered a to-go order and every time I go even when they are not busy they take forever! The whole ordering at the cash register is really annoying also! None of the other locations do this, and it makes it very confusing. It also appears as all the employees are in la la land! Love the food, but wish they'd get the management straight with this location! I love La Madeleine. This location gets 1 star because their staff needs to get it together. I get the same thing every visit but I wanted to try soup and I had never had it there. I asked what soup was vegetarian and they had no idea what so ever. The 2 cashiers asked a handful of employees plus someone in the kitchen and noone knew. I just find that odd that you work at a restaurant and have no idea what is in the food. I also asked about how a food was and was told, that he had no idea. How do you work here and not know about the food???? The location is obviously new and the staff is lucky to be working with new equipment but wow, try the food! read more

I had the Cesar salad with balsamic chicken and bowl of potato soup. Salad was great, chicken not so much. Potato soup had a burnt taste so I returned. While waiting there was a to-go order that had not been picked up and I watched as Marcos poured the two to-go soups back into the pot that they served the soup from.....REALLY!?!?! Not sure how long that order had been sitting there, but that is just not right!!!!!! Well we will not be eating there again. Did he pour my bowl of soup back in that pot as well????? I have heard good things about this place, but apparently this location is not up to par. My hubby had the Madeline chicken, which was cold. The flavor was good, but, when it is cold, it doesn't satisfy. We also had the potato soup, which I sampled first and was very good. It too, was cold when it arrived to our table. My daughter also had cold, bland scrambled eggs. We won't go back to this location, but may try a different one sometime. read more

Seems like the management has just fallen apart. I come in here occasionally with my wife and I considered it OK for breakfast...Not this last time. 1. They took the menus off the wall. That means you wait in a slow line until you get to the register; THEN they hand you the menu. So you get to look over the menu, order, and pay while the line waits. Just over 15 minutes to get our eggs benedict, mushroom soup, and pastry. Wife sent mushroom soup back to warm up because cold. Never saw the soup again. Eggs benedict just barely warm and sitting in a pool of water. Pastry was served on a plate; but still wrapped in plastic. The Great Hills Trail location has a new manager and has really upped its game. But this morning, didn't want to fight traffic so went to this location! BIG mistake. Ordered two omelettes--took forever, then we got up to check and could see that they were ready, but no one brought them over (ours wasn't the only hot food sitting out getting cold). Manager was summoned and he had them remade (or heated them up, not sure which). One of them was pretty sloppily done. Manager offered us a free dessert--don't want a dessert at breakfast, want a good, hot breakfast without aggravation. Apparently too much to ask for at this location. We eat out a lot--but our restaurant dollars will no longer be spent here. read more

We went last night (Saturday about 6pm). The food was good, but the restaurant was in shambles. There were ZERO clean tables and several people were wandering around looking for somewhere to sit. We found a less dirty table in the back corner. Next to us, on the floor, was a chicken bone, wrappers, and napkins. The service was very unprofessional, to boot. My glass had some gunk on it and so did my knife. To cap it off, the restrooms were VERY dirty and unkempt. You could see in the kitchen and notice trash overflowing. The gal taking our order chalked it up to being "under-staffed", but it sure did seem to be more than just that. Sadly, the place was almost too dirty to stomach eating. read more

We love La Madeleine and is extremely disappointed with the the treatment of guest. If you are having a promotion, make sure you have enough, if not, offer something else for your guest. They were down to less that a bowl of tomato basil soup when we arrived about 11:30. Said it would take 25 mins to make more. Bowl of onion soup was served with unmelted cheese on the bottom. Soup was luke warm to boot. Sandwich was good. Services was OK even if the server was a bit confused about our order. This location has some issues that can be fixed. read more

I love La Madeleine, but I have been to way better locations. The food was great, as like all of them, but the dining area was trashed. Over half the tables, inside and out were covered with dirty dishes. The condiments area was messy and the bread slices in the case were stale. However, it was understandable considering the place just opened. So then, I ordered a delicious looking coconut creme pie. I sit down and I'm ready to dig in. Reliable per usual. The food is good(ish) as far as chains go and most importantly it's reliably the same. We stop by for breakfast about once a month on Sunday and the food is delicious and coffee is fresh. This is a new location with two interesting things: (1) they have an awesome back yard for kids to run around in and (2) they are trying way to hard with their French greetings. Someone is obligated to greet you with "bonjour" as soon as you step in the place. I'm sure it's pleasant for some, but I hate being manipulated by psychological and insincere tricks to sell me a baguette. read more
